09 - Chapter Nine - Siryn's Point Of View.

On the very last day of the build, the whole pack pretty much came to help. So by the end of the day, the house was done and pretty much liveable. The few last things to be done were to turn the power on and wait for the shipments of important appliances and stuff. For that, though we had to help clean and prepare a landing strip for a much much larger plane. There was a field nearby that was being prepared for just that. I wanted to help but I was put on helping Lucio duties. Which wouldn't have been so bad if there was actually something for me to do for my mate.

For the rest of the time after the night, I had asked Lucio to kiss me. I had remained at a distance away from him. He was closed off from me. He didn't want to talk or even hang out in the same room with me for longer than he had to. That made me unhappy but I knew he was still trying to adjust to a lot. He had a lot of things to get used to and having me as a mate was one of those things. I didn’t expect him to just accept me with no words, I just knew there would be a struggle.

Sitting on the floor in the newly built packhouse I watched as they brought in the giant desk from the house before. It had been restained and looked amazing. Lucio had a woman showing him around the house and telling him where he could find things. I couldn't help but feel bitter. It was my job to help my mate. Jealousy sat firmly in my stomach ready to rear its ugly head at any sexual or not normal behaviour. I was his mate. I ground my teeth every time she showed him something. She could have been showing him a damn spoon and I would have been over here cursing her to hell and back ten times over. I hated how close she was to my fucking mate, any closer and he could have worn her as a second skin.

Pulling my legs up to my chest I sat there for a few moments before I left the upstairs room. Wandering around the packhouse I found where our cots from the tent went. Instead of being packed up or only one being unpacked they both were. Why would Lucio need both of them open?

The few reasons I could think about made me angry. Going outside my pack members were tired. You could see it on everyone's faces. I too was tired and wanted to go home and just sleep. Dakota who was here to help finish the house had proposed a feast to celebrate the new homes. Lucio didn't even get a word in that matter because Dakota went right on ahead. I watched our warriors shift and form a fast hunting group. Yawning I watched as they ran off, Dakota explained this fast hunt formation to Lucio. In no time we would have fresh kills to eat. I could hear Lucio thanking Dakota. I was happy to see there was some kind of good communication going now.

This made me happy but also frustrated me beyond belief. They in four meetings had a better relationship then we did in a month and a half. It was super frustrating. Sneaking away I went to the upstairs office and curled up on the floor using my bag as a pillow. I couldn't really sleep no matter how hard I tried. I could smell and hear the fire outside crackling. The hunting party must have been very lucky because of the cheers I heard. The door downstairs opened and I stilled my breath. Lucio came up the stairs and walked slowly forward. He turned and looked at me tilting an ear. He walked over to where the closest now stood and pulled out the blanket my father had given me for the alpha. Slowly he walked my way. He would stop and listen. I let out a soft sigh still reasonable to be able to fake sleeping. It helped him find me. He slowly covered me with the blanket and he didn't leave like I figured he would. Instead, he laid on the floor not too far away from me. I waited till he looked calm and relaxed before I rolled over and tucked against him. He stilled completely. He even was very softly breathing so as not to disturb me. Smiling softly I got as close as I could to him. I could tell how uncomfortable he was, but he didn't make any move to run so I would call that a victory.

I smiled again. He was truly my mate, dispite that sometimes he looked like me wanted to throw me of a cliff or tell me to go fuck off somewhere.

After at least laying there for an hour it was time to go home. Getting up I yawned and stretched. Sleeping on the floor had caused me slight discomfort now in my back but shit it was worth it. Packing my things up I could tell Lucio was visibly angry. He had even taken to moving my bag and taking out all the contents. I packed it back up for the second time and tried to leave. I knew this was going to be a massive struggle to get him to let me go home. He clearly didn't want me too.

"You are not leaving. *

He was blocking my way and wouldn't move. Trying to push past him only made him even angrier.I was mildly impressed by how fast he was moving, but he had explained he could use vibrations to map things out. He stood there blocking my way and not letting me go. This made me annoyed but also happy he was showing some kind of connection by not letting me go. Maybe he did want me around.

"You are mine. You are not going"

Dakota said nothing as he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Did my alpha just abandon me! That just fucking super, of course he would do this. Dakota was always my saviour, not.
