Words Unspoken

Chapter Chapter Twenty Six

As we approached the entrance, one of the guards walked towards the drivers side where Joe was. Joe rolled down his window and the guard looked at him and then at us. We all sat there quietly not saying a word. Did he know Joe? Was he one of the men undercover?

After a minute he gave us a nod and took a step back. The tension in the car was gone as Joe passed through. My eyes shifted towards the building. There were some guards standing outside, but they didn't say anything to us, they just assumed we were new.

Joe parked the car in the back entrance. He shut the engine off and turned to look at us.

"Okay, we're going to have to split up. It'll be too suspicious if all of us go down in solitary at the same time."

He looked at each and every one of us.

"Ben, you and Krista will relieve the guards that are standing at the entrance. Kyle, Sam and I will get the keys and make our way inside, get Linda and get the hell out of here."

"Won't they know she's gone missing?" Ben pointed out. He had a valid point of course. If we busted Linda out of the prison, surely the guards who were working for the government would notice.

Joe kept quiet not knowing what to say. Ben shook his head at him, glanced out the window and then back over at Joe.

"We should have thought this through-"

"I did think this through!" Joe snapped at him. "I had it all planned out, I just needed extra hands to help me, and then you all showed up. This was the only chance I had at saving her."

"Yeah? And what about Noah?!" Ben argued back. "The longer we take to rescue him, the worse it'll get!"

It finally got silent in the car. We all just sat there looking at each other. Ben and Joe just gave each other death glares. I had no idea why Joe was so keen on saving Linda first, he hadn't seen his son either in years. I just hope we didn't make a mistake meeting this guy.

After going over the plan for the tenth time, we all armored up and made our way inside the building. Krista and Ben made their way first. While me, Kyle and Joe waited a few minutes. I placed my hand on my right side where my gun was. I've never used a gun, let alone held a gun in my entire life. But today, our lives and everyone else's lives depended on it.

We watched as two guards had walked out of a room.

The three of us continued down the long corridor, and we made it to a door at the end of the hall. Joe opened the door and we all made our way down the stairs.

We finally ended up in the solitary wing, under ground. Krista and Ben standing at the entrance. Thankfully they were the only two guarding. Ben gave us a nod and we made our way inside.

"Keep a look out." Joe said to Ben as the three of us walked into a large opened room. The floor was made out of stone and the entire room was shaped almost like an Octagon. The walls were made out of glass, but it was too dark to see if there was anyone in there.

The three of us looked around searching for any lights.

"Got it!" Kyle called out as he turned on a light switch and the glass walls lit up, revealing the rooms. Each one had a bed against the wall and toilet seat right next to it.

My eyes widened when I saw the people behind the glass doors. I scanned each room hoping to find Linda, Noah's mom.

"Joe?" One man spoke up. He had gray hair and a thick beard. His eyes were a bright blue, but you could tell that he was tired and exhausted. Joe then rushed up to the door.

"Dave, my god. What the hell happened?"

"I was caught. Kept my mouth shut though don't worry."

"Where's Linda?" Joe asked, concern in his voice.

"They took her in the middle of the night."

My eyes widened at what he said. No, no way. They couldn't have taken her. Did they know we were coming? Or was her time finally up.

"Who took her?" I spoke up as I walked up to the door. Dave let out a small sigh as he shook his head.

"President Martin."

We stood there in shock not knowing what to say. This whole time we were coming here to rescue her, but the president got to her first. So, here we are back in the Van, but we rescued Joe's friend Dave.

Dave was one the people that Joe took with him to go undercover. And Dave was apparently married to Jill. Which surprised me of course since Jill never ever mentioned about being married or having a husband.

Apparently Dave was caught recently, he was an undercover guard at the White House. He told us that Noah was alive, being tortured for information. He told us he was trying to find a way to get him out, to break him free, but was caught in the process. Thankfully they didn't torture him either or kill him, just tossed him in solitary until it was his time. As soon as he was tossed in there, that's when they took Linda.

Things were now getting even harder. Although it was suspicious how easily we got in the prison without attracting any attention. But I tried not to think anything of it, since no one else did.

We finally arrived back to the antique store. Luckily for us no one followed.

As soon as we walked in the room, Ben swiftly walked over to the table and with one swift movement, swiped all the stuff that was on the table, onto the floor. His hands were clenched up into fists, his shoulders moving up and down, his breathing was heavy.

He then slammed his fists on the table. Krista rushed over to try and calm him down.

Kyle and I gave each other a look before turning our attention to Joe. His hands on his hips as he paced back and forth.

"If we stuck to the plan, we could have rescued Noah and eventually your wife if they were already planning on taking her to the fucking White House!" Ben yelled. His breathing became heavy as he glared at Joe.

Dave got between the two of them.

"Enough!" He snapped and looked between the two of them. "Noah and Linda are both in trouble, yes. And it is up to us to save them. We need to hurry. We don't have much time. When I was taken I heard from some guards that they're both going to be killed, no matter what happens. We have three days to save the both of them. So right now, you two need to stop taking your anger out on each other and take it out on the fucking government."

He looked between the two of them and I watched as both of their bodies slowly relaxed. Ben and Joe gave each other a nod.

"Oh thank god." Kyle muttered and I tried to stop myself from laughing.

"I feel like we've been going around in circles." Krista said as she brushed her hair from her face.

"it's like they're one step ahead of us, no matter how close we get." I added and they all gave a nod in agreement.

"There's no time to waste." Dave spoke up. "Noah and Linda both need our help. No more fighting or arguing with each other. Let's put our heads together and work as a team."

We all exchanged looks and nodded our heads in agreement. The way Dave spoke reminded me of Jill. I missed her and I hope once we rescue Noah and Linda we can get back home, and finally her and Dave can reunite after so many painful years apart. I don't think I could ever live that way without Noah, it hasn't been that long and my heart was aching. I know I haven't shown it, but I was trying my best to stay strong for everyone. Out of all of us, Ben was taking it the hardest, he's his best friend, his brother.

We all finally gathered up everything from the floor and set it back down on the table. Joe opened up blueprints of the White House. He started explaining where everything was. Right now on the blue prints there was no visual of where exactly they would be kept. My guess was, the president had an underground bunker or something of the sort to keep them in for torture.

So here we are again. Hopefully we get lucky. As they say, third times a charm.
