Wolf Bond

Chapter 112

I step out of the house when I hear a strange calling... it is not some kind of voice but a feeling like someone is calling you.

Following that calling, I walk deeper into the woods away from the pack however, I haven’t crossed the pack territory yet.

By now Donovon would have known that I am gone, I don’t know how he will react but I am sure he will not be happy about this. But since he can’t do anything he will have to suck it up. This is his punishment for being a prick to me.

I keep on walking even when I sense someone around me, a moment later a shadow appears before my sight. I look cautiously around me to find some more shadows surrounding me. Slowly, they tighten their circle around me which slightly makes me anxious. Then suddenly I feel like someone has splashed a bucket of cold water on me making me gasp loudly.

When I open my eyes I am no longer present in the woods, I am standing on barren land. The place is unfamiliar however, here I can sense the magic at their full force like I am trapped in the web of magic.

A burning sensation starts to form in the middle of my chest but it is nothing painful or discomforting instead with each moment passing I am feeling stronger than before.

Suddenly, my surrounding changes and I find myself standing in the middle of the desert... and when I blink, my eyes open to a different place. The scene around me keeps on shifting, and with each blink I find myself standing in a new and unfamiliar place.

I know she is playing these games with me, to scare me... to make me feel that she is the one who is in control here. Because she knows no spell can work on me, so she is using her magic to manipulate my surroundings to show me her superiority.

Soon she will find out how wrong she is, but until then I will enjoy free transportation to different locations. Because I don’t know anyone would say no to free travel, at least not me.

Fire snickers when she hears my thoughts.

“Ivory...” A weak voice calls my name making me look around but I find myself alone. Later I hear my name coming from different directions then soon mocking laughs start to echo around me.

However, suddenly I find myself in the middle of an empty room which seems more like a cell. I am unable to move my arms and legs because I am tied against the wall with heavy chains.

Fire growls angrily because she is getting impatient, however, I don’t lose my calm.

My head turns to the sound when I hear someone approaching me. The door on my side opens, and I watch Ophelia walking inside the room with a concerned expression on her face.

“How did you get in here?” She asks as she hurriedly comes towards me. “I felt you around here so I came to check if it is really you or my senses are betraying me.”

“Micah called me,” I inform her while tugging on the chains. “But I don’t know why I am here.”

“Ivory, my child, you shouldn’t have come here.” She says keeping her act, “Being kind and good sometimes becomes dangerous for your ownself, now see where your kindness has landed you.”

“It is all my fault, I should have warned you about him.” She looks down and shakes her head, “He is not how he pretends to be, he fools everyone with his goodness, but the truth is there’s nothing good in him.” Her face is full of compassion.

Instead of replying, I silently glance at her while I can’t help but think how much evilness is concealed behind her sweet face and empathetic words.

However, the malicious glint in her eyes clearly shows the darkness of her soul, and I like a fool for noticing this earlier.

“There is something which I need to tell you.” I talk to her in a hushed tone, “Something really important which you may have not known.”

My words get her attention, as she curiously looks at me.

“Next time when you try to trick me by imitating Micah's voice, make sure to remember he never calls me Ivory.” Slowly a cold smile settles on my lips, as I whisper looking into her eyes, and watch them slightly widening with realization making her features harden.

She revealed herself the moment she tried to fool me by directly establishing contact with me using her powers. I had felt the same effect when she first time tried to cast a spell on me, which didn't make me much longer to realize who is actually behind all this. My mind quickly connected the dots and this confirmed my assumption that all this is her doings.

She is not a witch but someone who is equally powerful, as her magic has no bound. She knows almost everything about me because in a small period of time we got really close as she never gave me any chance to doubt her.

How I wish I never trusted this snake...

“Oh, so you already knew it’s me.” She drops her mask, showing her true colors when she laughs lightly. Her laugh full of malice.“But you can’t do anything about it. You are trapped here, where no one can find you or save you, because you are a fool to walk straight into a trap even when you know what will be the outcome of this.”

A dark chuckle leaves from my lips, as I calmly look at her.

“Are you sure about that?” I arch an eyebrow and the next moment I tug on the chains, breaking them in one harsh tug as a satisfying clunk sound bounces off the walls when they fall on the floor.

“You were saying something?” I point at the chains then look back at her while a smug look crosses my face when I see her shocked expression.

Picking up the chain, I wrap them around her neck even before she can recover from the shock. Tightening my hold on her, I smile when I see her struggling to try to free herself while she gasps for air.
