Wolf Bond

“I wanted you to be somewhere safe, as I didn’t know what’s happened with you because you were not responding.” He rubs the back of his neck, seeming slightly nervous as he looks around, “I don’t know many places so I thought to bring you here.”

“But now I will take you back to home as I have to go.” He rubs his index finger between his brows, “This wolf is giving me a headache.”

“I know you want to ask me so many things and trust me even I want to talk because I never really had anyone with whom I could talk, but at this moment it is really difficult for me to try to stay in control.” He stops me while raising his hand when he notices I am about to protest. “For now, just listen to me and let me take you home. I promise next time I will answer your every question. From now Donovon will not forget anything as now I don’t need to hide anything from him. So I guess next time he will control his wolf to not bother me when I come forward. As Storm is creating a storm inside the head making me dizzy with his constant angry growling and pacing.”

Fire makes a sound which seems like a proud laugh inside my mind then after a moment I can feel her talking to Wolfie through our bond.

Sighing, I nod my head as I know it is getting late and we have to get home because just like Wolfie even Ella has the ability to create storm if we stay away from her for a long period of time. Moreover, it is not like D can run away or hide from me. And if he tries to act smart, I will grab him by his scruff and make him answer my questions. Because I am done playing nice.

“Okay, lets go home, but don’t you think even for one moment that I will let you go so easily.” I point my finger at him, while slightly narrowing my eyes, “I need my answers D, and I will get those from you even if I have to beat the answers out of you.”

“I don’t have any doubt about it, because even though you look timid and innocent but I can see you have a wild side.” He winks, “But don’t worry, we will not have to go to that extreme as I will tell you everything myself. And just between you and me, I am the dominant one, sweetheart.”

"You are an ass." I deadpan, which makes him chuckles as he mockingly bows.

"Did you know about me before you had surfaced?" After a few moments, I ask him in a quiet tone.

"No, I didn't, I only come forward when I needed to protect." He runs his hand through his hair and ruffle them, "We both might be one but we are different... our lives are different. We both have this barrier between us, which keeps his memories away from me and mine from him. We can only work together if he accepts me, but his mind doesn't even acknowledge my presence as since the moment he got his wolf he had completely shut me out."

"Why have you called yourself as his curse?" I can't help but ask him.

"Ain't I?" He arches an eyebrow, "What will you call someone who lives here and can control you from there?" He taps his temple with a proud smirk.

"We are practically three identities living in this body." He waves his hand in front of himself, "However, when he got his wolf I was forcefully locked away and only got a chance to escape from my imprisonment with the help of that woman as she weakened his wolf and severe their connection which aided me to regain my ability to come forward."

“That woman is really powerful,” He abruptly says as he removes some empty crate boxes revealing a door behind them. “Whenever I interacted with her, I could feel the power of her magic. But you are stronger than her, because when you extended your protection she could never pass through it.”

“From the way how much she knows about you, I am sure she is someone who knows you very well... And for some reason, I can say that was not the first attack she made on you, because her voice held a hidden hatred and anger and almost sounded desperate like she has not been successful in her previous attempts.”

“But the question is, why someone would hate you so much?” He asks to himself while frowning.

“Because maybe I have something which she always wanted but was never blessed with.” I speak slowly, while realizing the answer to the question which even I have asked myself numerous times. “She wanted the powers which I have, but since she doesn’t have those... so now she wants me. In that way, through me, she can have my powers. She is someone who is power greedy and can go to any extent to get what she wants.”

Turning my head towards D I find him glaring at the floor while his hands are curled into fists on his sides. Lifting his eyes, he locks his gaze with me.

Fury is burning in his eyes and honestly I slightly feel afraid of him as I have never seen such anger inside eyes which belongs to Donovon.

“Don’t trust anyone.” While shaking his head, he repeats the same words which Donovon has said to me.

“I will help you, but you can’t tell anyone about me as this can alert her and maybe then she will try to use your every weakness against you. Ivory, you need to make sure Ella is protected all the time and if you have even a slightest doubt on anyone, then keep an eye on them, no matter who they are or how close they are to you.” There is a hidden authority behind his words which will make you believe that he knows what he is doing and you should trust him. Nonethless with the little interaction we had in Donovon's mind I know he is an ass, however, currently this ass is right.

“I will try to find more about this woman and will tell you if I find anything which can lead us to her.” He says while closing his eyes briefly.

“How?” I ask him not understanding how he will manage to look to for that woman.

“I have promised to tell you everything truthfully, but this doesn't mean I will disclose every trick which I have up in my sleeve.” He smiles arrogantly making me lightly groan as I know he will not speak more than he has already said.

I have this strong feeling inside my heart that soon his cockiness will earn him a punch from me. Honestly, I should try to get into Donovon's mind and beat the crap out of him as in that way I will not feel bad for indirectly hurting Donovon and I will even be able to teach this arrogant bastard a lesson.
