Wolf Bond

He momentarily looks shocked but then a blank expression comes over his face and I know he is about to finally reveal himself. But I am not afraid or worried because he is a part of him. Donovon is my mate, the one whom Moon Goddess has chosen for me, and I have to accept him fully.

He is the one who can answer my questions and probably he is the one who can help us. And I can just pray he will be ready to help us because it will be a shame to beat him into submission if he pisses us because Fire is already growling inside my mind to chew his head.

“What are you saying Ivory?” He asks feigning innocence, “Accept whom?”

I can’t help but roll my eyes with a scoff, because if he thinks he can fool me then he is the biggest fool himself. Even though they both are the same, and I don’t know how but I can sense the difference between them.

“Cut the crap, D.” I narrow my eyes at him already knowing he has come forward, “I know it is you?”

“D?” He chuckles once looking amused.

“Yes, D.” Pursing my lips, I nod my head, “You are Donovon, but at the same time you are not. So, I will call you D, as for me Donovon is my Donovon.” I shrug, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You are smart, I have to give you that.” He smirks, looking slightly impressed not bothering to deny that I am wrong.

“So, why have you called me, mate?” He mocks as he circles me trying to look intimidating.

“I want to know the truth.” I sigh, while shaking my head, “If you are Donovon’s alter then why are you aiding his... our enemies?”

“Do you know how much Donovon and I have to suffer and are still suffering because of this curse?” I look at him, “You are helping our enemies to control him, why? My Ella has to suffer because of you and them, she’s innocent... she’s just a baby. What has she done to you, that you didn’t even care about her?” My voice raises in anger as I recall everything which we have gone through.

“I have told you, I didn’t hurt her... intentionally.” He growls as his eyes flashes with anger, “I could never hurt my daughter.”

Closing his eyes, he momentarily takes a deep breath trying to calm himself.

“She lied to me, but as soon as I realized the truth, I never let her succeed in what she wanted and helped you in every way I could.” He says in a quiet voice. “Trust me, I can never do anything to hurt you.”

“Emma?” I ask trying to find who is he talking about.

“Emma?” He raises his eyebrow his tone insulting, “She was a dumb bitch, who was only interested in becoming our Luna and thought she could control us.” He scoffs.

A sigh escapes his lips when he notices my serious expression then he runs his fingers through his hair.

“I don’t know who she is.” He shakes his head, “She has visited me only thrice and never shown her face, mostly I used to hear her voice and follow whatever she asked me to do.”

I hold his eyes and find nothing but the truth in them.

“You were helping her.” A feeling of disappointment floods inside my heart, because he is a part of Donovon and I can’t wrap my head around why’d he do something like this, “You know, what hurts the most that you are Donovon, the one whom I trust myself with, but still you’re with the one who did everything to hurt me. And who knows maybe even now you are still helping her.” Angry tears flood my eyes, but I will be damned if I will cry.

I have cried enough, I will not cry anymore.

"You are strong, no matter what happens I will always be with you." Fire speaks when she senses my distress, ”You will never be alone, I will always be there for you."

"I love you, Fire." I tell her feeling grateful to have her as my wolf, ”I don’t have any doubt that anyone can stand a chance before us, because together we are invincible."

Every pore of my body tingles with this familiar and powerful sensation while newfound confidence fills my heart.

“So what is the new command which you have got from her?” Raising my eyebrows, I chuckle humorlessly while rage runs through my veins, “To kill me or to bring me to her so that she can get whatever she wants from me?”

Goddess knows how much I want that he should take me to her because there is nothing that I want other than to rip her heart out of her chest just like I did with Emma.

Perhaps I will give her, even more, worse and agonizing death than hers.

Lifting my eyes I look at D to find him glancing at me. Different expressions cross his face and one of which I decipher as regret.

"Ivory, I am not with anyone... not anymore" He grips my shoulders, "I know it is hard to believe but as soon as I realized that everything that she said to me was a lie, I didn't let her control Donovon through me."

"I have been helping Donovon in fighting against her control in every way I can, even though I hate him." He looks straight ahead than his gaze shifts back to me, "I always wanted control and freedom, and she promised me that, but this doesn't mean I will harm him or you to get what I want."

Abruptly, he steps back and waves his hand around the room.

"This is where I used to bring him to keep him safe when she used to force him to do something which I knew was wrong. Once I know her presence is not that strong in our mind than I would let Donovon take control." He slips his hands into his pockets and shrugs, "All my life I was ignored and now I don't want to be ignored. So now I come forward whenever I want, not when he needs." His lips tilt in a half-smile.

His words only indicate that he has been with Donovon all his life, but maybe Donovon was not aware of his presence because he never accepted him.

"I might not be a good person like him, but there is one thing you should know I will never let any harm come to you because I am born to protect." He gently touches my face with the tips of his fingers while an unreadable expression dances his eyes.
