Lucille already visited Layton Manor with Spencer to meet his parents. She’d also introduced him to Marie and agreed to move in with him.
To be honest, she’d already accepted Spencer, but she still had some reservations. She carefully observed Spencer’s expressionless face.
Worried that he was angry, she explained, “It’s not that I want to keep our relationship private. I just don’t want to expose you to my family.”
If the Johnsons found out that she’d married Spencer, they would surely try to leech off her. She didn’t want to bother Spencer with something like that, and she didn’t want her rotten family members to leech off the Layton family.
“We can make our relationship public once I deal with the Johnsons, okay?” she tried to negotiate.
“You have two months.”
“What?”
“After two months, I’ll make our relationship public regardless of whether you’re done dealing with them.” Spencer’s expression was cold. He didn’t leave any room for negotiations.
After some thought, Lucille reluctantly agreed, “Fine.”
Two months should be enough. She was just worried that they wouldn’t hand it to her. She’d been asking for it for years, but they’d never given in.
Suddenly, Spencer pulled out an intricate silver chain. Before she could ask about it, Spencer said, ” Since you can’t wear it on your hand, wear it around your neck.”
Lucille was at a loss for words. She knew she was at fault, so she obediently put it on.
Monday came in a blink of an eye. Lucille was in the CEO’s office on the top floor of Star&Ciel Group.
Bailey narrowed her eyes at Lucille and said with a smirk, “My, my, Mrs. Layton, your skin’s glowing! It looks like your life with Mr. Layton has been rather harmonious!”
Lucille rolled her eyes at her. “Stop joking around.”
Bailey clicked her tongue. She raised her eyebrows and asked, “We’re besties, so shouldn’t you share your experience with me?
“Does it really hurt the first time? Is he great in bed?”
Lucille was speechless. She coughed and said coldly, “Bailey, don’t get carried away. What nonsense are you asking me?”
Bailey narrowed her eyes and looked at Lucille’s neck. “No way! Mr. Layton managed to resist eating a
snack like you?” she asked in shock and disbelief.

“That can’t be. You’re gorgeous, and you’ve got a great body. The fact that he didn’t lay a hand on you when you’re practically served up to him on a silver platter makes no sense.
“Can it be that he can’t get it up?” Bailey speculated.
Lucille sighed and massaged her temples. “Stop making assumptions. It’s me. He said he’d wait until I consented. He won’t touch me otherwise.”
She tried to defend Spencer because she knew firsthand that he wasn’t impotent.
Bailey was rendered speechless. “What a great guy,” she said in awe.
Suddenly, she noticed the necklace around Lucille’s neck. She recalled that Lucille had never liked wearing accessories.
She pointed at Lucille’s neck and asked, “Did he give that to you?”
Lucille nodded and pulled the necklace out.
Seeing the ring on the necklace, Bailey asked, “Did he give you that ring?”
“Yeah, he said it’s an engagement ring for daily wear,” Lucille recounted what Spencer had said to her. She was surprised to find out that he’d designed the ring himself.
Bailey examined it and said, “The ring’s design is pretty special. There’s a tiny pair of antlers.”
Then, she suddenly caught on. “He’s so romantic! Deers symbolize devotion and unconditional love.
