Chapter Warming 63
Chapter 63
Lucille touched the ring with her fingertips. Her heart felt warm and fuzzy.
Bailey asked absent–mindedly, “Who’s the designer?”
Lucille smiled and said, “Mr. Spencer Layton himself.
Bailey was speechless. She was so shocked that her jaw almost dropped to the floor. She’d seen enough romantic gestures to last a lifetime now.
Lucille could understand why Bailey looked so shocked. She was surprised, too. It was like Spencer
knew how to do everything.
“Can I ask if there’s anything Mr. Layton can’t do?” Bailey schooled her expression back to a neutral
one.
Spencer was the head of the Layton family and could cook and design rings on top of managing a global business. And he even did it all flawlessly. He was probably the most perfect person in the
world.
Lucille seriously considered Bailey’s question. She answered, “I haven’t found any.”
Bailey was starting to get jealous. She leaned in to take a closer look at the ring and noticed a date- September 10–along with some random symbols engraved on it.
“That’s not your birthday. Did Mr. Layton engrave his birthday on the ring?” Bailey asked, confused/
“No, his birthday’s in March,” Lucille replied.
“Then, what is it?”
“It’s the day we got our marriage certificate.”
Bailey felt like bleaching her ears after the cheesiness she’d been subjected to. She shouldn’t have
asked.
“By the way, it’s Thanksgiving this Wednesday, so I need to go home tomorrow. My mom, the queen, has given me strict orders to head there tomorrow.
“Since you have a husband who dotes on you so much, you probably don’t need me anymore. I won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving with you,” Bailey said.
“Sure, go ahead.”
“In that case, I’ll borrow you from Mr. Layton tonight so we can have dinner together,” Bailey said cheerfully and winked.
“Tonight’s not possible for me.” Lucille thought of what Spencer had said to her before she’d left home this morning.
“Spencer invited his friends out for us to have dinner tonight. Why don’t you join us too?” Lucille looked
at her and asked.

Bailey had never eaten with Spencer, so she was scared and excited. “Can I?” she asked warily.
Seeing how wary Bailey was, Lucille chuckled. “Of course. Aren’t you supposed to be fearless?”

Bailey sighed and said, “You don’t understand. Commoners like me can barely breathe the same air as big shots like Mr. Layton. Besides, his friends must be big shots as well.”
Suddenly, Lucille realized that she’d forgotten to tell Bailey that she might in fact know Spencer’s
friends.
A few seconds later, Bailey was dumbfounded. With a face filled with shock, she asked in disbelief, “A- Are you saying that Uncle lan’s your husband’s best friend?”
Bailey felt incredibly dumb for not knowing that they were good friends outside of work. The Laytons, Moores, Shaws, Jonases, and Forrests were the top five aristocratic families in Whiteloop City.
But as far as she knew, the five families had never formed connections with each other. Her parents had never mentioned anything like that either.
Rumor had it that the five families stayed out of each other’s way because they specialized and expanded their businesses in different industries. She wasn’t the only one who thought so. All of Summeria had the same assumption.
The fact that they all knew each other was big news. All of Summeria would be theirs, much less a tiny place like Whiteloop City.
“Bailey, do you know Eunice?” Lucille suddenly thought of Eunice.
She’d been too quiet that day, not to mention the fact that she’d also reeked of low self–esteem. Lucille was so sure that Eunice wasn’t someone like that.
Bailey looked troubled upon hearing her question.
