Chapter Warming 57
Chapter 57
After Sabrina finished speaking, she took out a card from her bag and handed it to the sales assistant with a gentle smile. “Charge this one, please.”
The sales assistant took the card with both hands and went to process the payment.
Feeling grateful, Lorelei held Sabrina’s hand and said, “Sabrina, you’re so kind. Don’t worry, Harold will only marry you. You’re the only young lady of the Quall family. Some people will never be so lucky.”
She directed the last sentence at Lucille with a malevolent glare.
Lucille remained indifferent. Her usual, calm demeanor frustrated Sabrina and Lorelei; it was as if they were punching a pillow.
Lorelei kept praising Sabrina, unaware that Sabrina’s heart was bleeding at the thought of spending over eight million dollars.
Although she was the eldest daughter of the Johnson family and the chief perfumer at Johnson Group, most of her money was spent on Ivy’s lavish spending.
She didn’t have any shares in Johnson Group and feared being looked down on when she married into the Quall family. That was why she desperately wanted William and Horace to reclaim the shares Lucille had in Johnson Group and Star&Ciel Group.
However, Lucille was stubborn; she steadfastly refused to give up her shares.
“Ma’am, here are your rings and your card,” the sales assistant said respectfully, handing over the items. Despite everything, they had still made a substantial sale.
Having just spent a fortune, Sabrina wasn’t in mood to stay any longer. She took the rings and left with Lorelei trailing behind.
Watching them leave, Bailey burst into laughter. “That was so satisfying! Next time I run into them, I’ll use this trick again.”
Lucille chuckled softly. “Yes, it was a satisfying trick. I’m looking forward to the third time.”
Bailey paused, puzzled. “Third time? Have you done this, before?”
Lucille smiled enigmatically, saying nothing. But Bailey understood immediately.
Bailey thought for a moment and then spoke, “I’m beginning to think those two have something wrong with their brains.”
Lucille replied calmly, “They’re very easy to provoke.”
After that, Lucille picked out two bracelets, one for each of them. They left the store wearing matching friendship bracelets.
Despite owning plenty of jewelry at home, Lucille preferred simplicity and convenience in her daily life. So, she rarely wore any of it and kept most pieces for collection. Bailey often said that Lucille was wasting her treasures by keeping them locked away,

They continued their shopping spree, browsing handbags, clothes, and food. They completely forgot the earlier incident.
Meanwhile, Sabrina was in no such good mood. After leaving the jewelry store, she made an excuse about feeling unwell and returned to the Johnson residence.
After throwing a tantrum, she locked herself in her room and tried calling Larry again, but to no avail.
While Lucille and Bailey were having a great time, Lucille’s apartment at Orchidstone Garden was being renovated. Lucille had completely forgotten about this matter.
“By the way, didn’t you say Mr. Layton is moving into your apartment today?” Bailey asked as they sat in a café.
“Yes. The apartment is big enough. There’s a guest room he can use,” Lucille explained.
Bailey raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
