Chapter Warming 22

Chapter 22

In her office, Lucille narrowed her eyes at the extravagantly dressed young man in front of her. Charles was the deputy CEO of the Sanders Corporation at 26 years old. Known as the Casanova of Whiteloop City, there was a new rumor about him with either a celebrity or model every three days.

He was quite the looker, and being the son of the Sanders family, he naturally had women throwing themselves at him. However, rumor had it that he was heartless.

Lucille watched as Charles took a seat on the couch. “Mr. Sanders, why did you come here?” she asked coolly.

While she looked him up and down, he did the same to her.

Her face was aloof yet beautiful. She had exquisite facial features that made her quite the stunner. She was even prettier than any woman he had ever had.

His lips curved into a smile. He laughed casually. “Ms. Johnson, I’ve heard people call you venomous, but it turns out that you’re just an ice queen. I feel like this trip here is now worth it.”

When Lucille heard this, she narrowed her eyes. She regarded him coolly and said nothing.

Charles soon felt a chill radiating toward him. When he looked at the woman sitting behind the desk, his heart trembled. He didn’t expect Lucille to have such a powerful aura. For a few seconds just now, she had actually scared him. And she was two years younger than him too.

With a cold expression, Lucille said icily, “If you’re here for a leisurely chat, I’m afraid you’re in the wrong place, Mr. Sanders.”

When Charles heard that, he snorted. However, he immediately composed himself and said, “It was merely a joke. The reason I’m here today is because I want to propose a collaboration.”

Lucille gave him an indifferent look. “Oh? What is it, Mr. Sanders?”

Charles raised his eyebrows slightly. While grinning, he said, “In every guest room of every hotel under the Sanders Corporation, we put a reed diffuser. From next month onward, we are planning to switch brands.”

Pausing slightly, he glanced at the woman sitting calmly in front of him. Then, he continued, “I heard that Starbright Scents, the company under the Star&Ciel Group, is not only looking into the research and development of perfumes but also reed diffusers.” 1

Lucille kept her head slightly bowed. A flicker of light crossed her eyes, but she remained composed. She slowly looked up while raising her eyebrows.

“wonder where you heard such a rumor, Mr. Sanders. Everyone knows that the Star&Ciel Group only dabbles in the perfume and film industries. We have never been involved in what you described.”

Charles‘ smile didn’t falter. “Ten days ago, you met with the three board members of the Everton Corporation. Wasn’t that meeting to discuss this collaboration?”

Lucille didn’t answer. Instead, she waited for him to continue.

“However, the next day, the three of them were kicked out of the Everton Corporation. I won’t bother prying into the reason for their departure. However, I am quite interested in this partnership, Ms. Johnson. That’s why I came here personally.”

Charles wasn’t going to hide his intentions for coming here.

Since he’d already laid it bare, there was no point in Lucille trying to keep this under wraps. With a soft laugh, she said, “You’re truly resourceful, Mr. Sanders!”

Charles graciously accepted her compliment. “You flatter me.”

Lucille cut to the chase and said, “As you can see, Mr. Sanders, we have yet to publicly announce our newly developed product. There are still some details that are pending confirmation. I will consider your collaboration offer and get back to you in two days.”

Charles had more or less guessed that she wouldn’t agree immediately. However, since she didn’t reject him to his face, it meant that there was still a chance.

“Great. In that case, I’ll be waiting to hear from you, Ms. Johnson.”
