Chapter 7
If you would’ve have told me that I would be a vampire that are called immortals and have magical powers, I would probably think you are crazy and need help. But here I was standing before Emily, with shock written all over her face as well mine. Both trying to comprehend what just happened. It felt like a dream.
“Okay” Emily whispered bringing my attention back to reality.
She grabbed my hand and pulled me to her which led me being behind. Soon we were out of the building and approached the front gates. The sky was vibrant blue and the nature seemed have kicked a growth to it. Emily stopped us just outside the gate and faced me.
“Okay” Emily repeated, “What the hell was that and no other Immortals can have possession of all four elements.”
Stunned at her a statement, how was I supposed to know, I was just figuring things out myself.
“I don’t know, how am I the one in trouble when clearly” I pointed at her “you were the one who suggested this.”
She gasped at me and wanted to fire back, but took a breather, “That statue came to life,” she pointed at the temple behind the gates, “and all these effects surrounded you like they wanted to show off” she rested her hands on her hips.
“I am just confused as you” I replied as I could tell she was calming down.
“I am sorry, I just” she started to pace rustling some leaves that had already fallen. “a little confused by all of this. I mean it would be different if you only received one element…but all four…that is something to question.”
I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed a breath while in the cool crisp air that fall had provided.
“Okay…we should talk to Madam Mentor about this.” Emily kept pacing to which I crossed over to her and stopped her by the shoulders allowing her to look at me. Clearly and actually see me.
“Okay, let us go see her…but can you calm down a bit? You are freaking me out” I suggested then took a step back.
She only stared at me and scrunched her face, “how are you not freaked out by this?” she genuinely curious.
I shrugged my shoulders, “Honestly it freaked me out for a moment now I am just fine I suppose.”
She stared at me curiously then seemed relaxed a second later.
“Should we go see Madam” I suggested and Emily only nodded.
I started heading down the path we came from and didn’t bother to look back to see if Emily was following as I could hear her feet clutter against the stones and rustle against the leaves.
Now was the time to think, as now I couldn’t believe what just happened to now finding out I have multiple powers. Now things started becoming chaotic and now challenging as things appear. But seriously things needed to chill out, so I could feel like I had a little control.
I looked down at the necklace and realized I haven’t put it on. I lifted my hands with the chain being careful, dropped it and latched it together securely around my neck and soon started to play with it. Well, more like study it. The necklace was like the ones I have seen between oval and circular pendent. It was smooth on both sides, front and back. The symbols that showed were a tree, water droplet, flaming fire and swirl of white stuff which, I assumed was wind. The artwork was beautiful and some how I could already feel the power radiate from it. I didn’t feel different rather just myself with a new accessory that I am trying to figure out and make sense of.
We were still walking when Emily piped up as she may be frustrated again.
“Oh my gosh, why are we walking so slow?” she whined.
“I am literally jogging” I threw back at her.
“Have you ever run like lighting?” Emily asked.
“Uh, run like lightening?”
“Take my hand,” she reached forward, “just think fast and move your legs.”
I accepted her reach unaware on what was going to happen. Without warning everything around me blurred and fast paced. I looked down and found my legs were somehow able to keep up. Within seconds we arrived at the building of Madam. I took in a deep breath sucking air like it was my last.
“Okay that was how” my voice a bit shaky.
Emily turned as she went up the building steps, “sorry I didn’t realize how much as of shock that was to you,” and turned back to the doors and I started to follow her in. The building still had it intricate designs and unique décor. We saw some students and were about to pass when Emily turned to me and whispered urgently.
“Hide your necklace, so they don’t see it.”
Puzzled I took my necklace and slipped it under my shirt feeling the cool pendent against my skin. We passed by and murmured hellos. I wondered why she was warning me about that.
We headed up the stairs and soon brightness through the stones windows welcomed us. I noticed I started to breathe a little uneasy as it may be form the ascension of stairs or I was become uneasy about what just happened. Arriving at the top and saw Madam leaving her office took two steps that were smooth strides and Emily screamed.
“Madam!”
That Madam caught by surprised putting her hand on her chest as she was bit frighten by a surprise, stared at then soon smiled.
“Yes? How can I help you?” her voice was peaceful.
“Yes” I replied jumping the gun before Emily could answer. “I found out my powers” I took out my pendent already feeling the loss of it against my skin, “My pendent…and the statue came to life.”
There was a moment of silence between the three of us. Madam face stopped smiling but she seemed unmoved by this.
“Please” Madam gestured us towards her office doors, “please come inside we can speak about this in private.”
Emily, and I obeyed and followed Madam into her room and followed her to the desk where we sat on the other end her desk while she faced us. The energy was somehow relaxed even though I personally didn’t feel relaxed
“Now, let us start from the beginning” Madam spoke and she looked from Emily to me and back.
I started speaking.
“We went to the temple of Kadea to see if I have powers, and I did what Emily told me to do and statue cracked to life” I paused for a moment remembering. “it cracked to purple light and then the elements did some show coming to life.”
Saying this out loud made me feel mental, but I continued.
“She said ’daughter Asema and started blabbing about every element then things went to normal.”
Madam still looked calm even though I wasn’t, she looked between us girls and somehow the atmosphere felt calmer and it didn’t feel awkward. What did she do?
“Is that all what happened?”
“Yes” Emily this time replied.
Madam leaned back in her chair and breathed but soon leaned forward and stared at us. I felt intimidated for some reason yet I felt calm.
“Everything will be okay, it just a rare occurrence, that we will figure out.”
I nodded not understanding but still nodded.
“You have nothing to worry about, but to focus on how to use your powers properly.
I nodded in response; she had a valid point.
“Emily could you bring Asema to the library” she then looked a the both of us again.
“You may find an answer about powers and such then me giving you answers to that I have no knowledge of” she smiled.
From that I just stared.
Emily rose from her chair and gestured to me that we should head out. I rose up and brought my attention back to Madam who still looked calm.
I followed Emily out and made our direction to the library. We entered numerous hallways which made me head throbbing a bit till we arrived at two doors that reached the ceiling. I stopped and looked at them as I noticed they have scenes of something, such as narrative of creatures. Emily breathed and pushed opened the doors and entered with me behind her. From that my mouth fell open everywhere there were bookshelves covering every inch of the walls.
I noticed that a few levels were different with spiral staircases as access. Walking a little further I could see we were in the big opening. I realize the multiple levels had balconies overlooking the library itself. How have I not been here yet? Or known of this place existence?
I started twirling gazing at every angle I could see till I knocked into someone, we both fell and landed on the ground. Me on top of the body and instant heat moved throughout my body. I looked up with flushed cheeks seeing that it was Wolf looking up at me.
