Unknown Life (1) (Editing in Progress)

Chapter 6.1

I woke up slowly and saw Emily was also waking up the same time as me. I was still bit groggy but within a few minutes I was making sense of the world before me.

“Just to let you know, it’s the weekend” she said stretching as she also threw her sheets off of her. She sat up with her hair looking good considering it was in a braid. She put her feet on the floor and faced me and I just kept looking at her trying to smile through the sleepy fog.

“So, I have a suggestion for today but I want to run it by you, but you should be fully awake and prepared for the day first,” she stood and headed to the window looking out.

I sat up and slouched pursuing my lips together, “what do you have in mind?”

“First off you got back late, where were you?” she questioned, as it now turned into interrogation.

I smiled remembering last night the fondness of his lips on my cheek even though it was quite brief.

“Something is on your mind… what is it?” she came to my bed and jumped on it.

I sucked my lower lip and looked down at my hands that were rested on the soft covers of the bed, soon I bit the inside of my cheek and looked back at Emily. She was waiting on my response as it seemed like she was ready to jump me if I didn’t spit anything out.

“Okay” I started with a moment of silence, “I hung out with Wolf last night at the fountain we talked, splashed water at each other and then he walked me to the dorm and kissed me on the cheek…there is something about him that I like and attracted too.” I took a deep breath and brought my gaze back to Emily who gave me a look.

That is all she did was stare at me, I noticed for awhile she was good at not showing me the exact emotion she was feeling probably something she learned in a life of a royal.

“He kissed your cheek… hmmm what attraction?” she giggled a little bit.

I huffed giggle, “I am not sure but there is some electricity feeling when around him and I openly confessed that I thought he was handsome…”

Emily laughed throwing her head back, “oh my goodness I cannot believe you said that, is he attracted to you?” she inquired.

I shrugged my shoulders.

“Well,” she piped in again, “he is attractive and I guess you can try to pursue him but I would make it discreet… as it not known for Immortals and Lycan”

I was about to say something to her when she hopped off the bed excitedly but left for the bathroom.

“Wait, what?” I said now totally taken a back, I watched as Emily closed the door behind her leaving me on my bed looking after her. I looked at my feet stood up and went to my dresser wondering what I would wear today.

As I now so used to my uniform even the past weekend. I pulled out my common blue jeans out and dark plaid shirt and pulled them on as Emily came out fully dressed in some fine trousers and white silk shirt.

She stopped in her tracks when she saw me.

“You look good but are you going to wear that?” she asked giving me a sassy gesture.

I looked down at my outfit “What is wrong with it”

“Blue jeans? Really?”

I shrugged again.

She went over to my drawer and pulled out black tight jeans that went to the waist and threw them at me.

“Put those on then we can lace” she stated pointing at me disapproving of my choice.

“Where are we going?” I countered still standing as she not told me yet.

“Kadea Temple and why are you not putting those on?” she demanded.

I smiled and shook my head, “nope because my clothes, not yours” and put them back in the drawer.

We left the room and took a path which was unusually smaller than the main one we took. It was a nice walkway but for a while I realized there were no tunnels arches around tall buildings. Thought they were small and dark stone with rarely any stained glass. We came towards two stone walls that were just above our heights between them on iron gate that was covered with green ivy and purple roses.

Emily opened the gate that sounded with a creak. Soon the sound of water welcomed my ears and birds chirping with harmony.

“Welcome to Kadea temple” Emily pulled me in almost making my feet trip on my shoes. I regained my balance after a few second and looked around me as we were walking towards a medium size building that resembled a cathedral. It was dark stone that created the structure. With a rose type of window in the top that showed Kadea in the design. The roof was pointed a the entrance then smooth towards the back resembling a dome but not quite. The structure itself was usual and I started to study it. Emily bought me to the steps and my feet clattering against the stone. I gazed around me never have I seen such green grass or seen such beauty in nature.

I turned back to Emily and she gestured me into the building and I followed. My mouth dropped open again. I was looking inside and was blown away by the interior structure, it was unbelievable pillars lined up on both sides creating an aisle.

Carved in them were symbols that I did not know of. I just couldn’t grasp the building itself. When we went in a little further, I heard clicking of my shoes on the stones which echoed through the temple. There wasn’t much seating in the building but I didn’t care. Like in a cathedral at the end there wasn’t a podium where someone usually stands and speaks but there was statue of Kadea painted.

It looked like she was holding all four elements that gave the illusion that they were floating in here hands. Her hair looked like it was waving in frozen midair, her skin was purple and her hair was black. The dress she wore was dark purple and looked like it was also floating in midair. In front of her was a stand that looked like a bird bath. The building was lit by torches that gave the structure inside a curious play with the eyes.

Emily gently took me around a designated seating area, we sat down, the seat were wood and polished but had scarlet red cushions for the back and bottom. I guess it was for people to come and worship this goddesses. I looked again around and admired the structure the pillars and reaches that were basically awestruck amazing.

“This is where some rituals are performed also a place to come and speak with the goddesses herself.”

I looked at Emily did she say rituals?

“Are there services here?”

“Not really, it is more of a place worship, or she comes to speak with us about something.”

“Has she come lately?” I asked and the curiosity was cutting at me.

“Well last time before I attended she came down and said three was a new beginning to prepare for and everything we knew was to change because of a great birth.”

I pursued my lips, “what do you think?”

“Well, it been over twenty years since she told it thought no one really noticed change till Wolf came onto the grounds and joined our school then I am not sure.”

“Hmm interesting I suppose,” I replied.

“Oh!” she bounced in her spot, “Want to see if you have powers?”

“How?” I asked now scared.

“The thing in front of Kadea it used for rituals but it also says what your power may be,” Emily grabbed my arm and gently dragged me towards the stage that led to the podium.

We went up the steps and arrived in front of the statue. I looked into the stone bath and it seemed as if something was swirling in it.

“You sure?”

She nodded her head and took a step back.

“Okay so what do I do?” I gestured to it.

“Hover your hands as palms down over it then ask either in your native language what you want.”

I swallowed and sighed I might as well try.

I knew nothing bad but still you never know what will happen when you think of summoning something. It either turns out good then slowly goes bad or turns out bad and continues to be bad. I looked around me on last time and lifted my hands to hover over the bowl of water.

Kadea please show me my element” I said in quite a quiet voice.

It was silent for a few seconds then the statue in front of the bowl started cracking. Emily and I both jumped back frightened, the statue continued to crack till light was shining through and it was not bright white light it was purple. The statue started cracking into smaller pieces and more light was spilling through towards us. I didn’t know what to do but just stared out of fear and waited to see what would happen.

One thing about the statue was that it was not breaking into pieces but rather it was cracking into light. Every piece that crack turned into bright purple. The elements that were hovering above what used to be Kadea hands were cracking as well except they were coming to life just like the statue was.

Soon as the elements came to life they burst towards Emily and I we both ducked while looking up the elements and watch as they swirled around the temple dancing like fire flies. We bought our gazed back to the bath as the elements stopped above it floating around the bath.

As for the statue the purple brightness looked more like it was floating and the statue looked like it was bring smoothly blown in the wind. I looked at the face, and it was coming to life and the woman was smiling at us. Her hair was actually moving as was her dress. She was floating in mid-air, I was speechless. How was that possible? I looked around to Emily and show as stunned as I was at what was happening.

“Does this usually happen?” I whispered to her.

“No…she never appears...or just floats there staring back at you.” Emily whispers back.

We both look at the woman floating there in midair looking down at us. Her skin a light purple her dress was a pure black and her hair was jet black but it misted around her. With her eyes shining silver, but they gave a kind gesture.

“Daughter…” she said with a such musical voice that it was definitely inhumane.

I couldn’t reply, the words were stuck in my throat all I really could do was just stare at her.

“Daughter…my child…come” she gestured to me and gradually floated down towards the bath where the elements were swirling around.

“You asked and you shall receive,” she said now smiling at me.

I finally was able to walk up the stairs again and walk towards the goddess and stand by the bath. The woman floating was across from me she gave such a kind face. I didn’t know what was going to happen. She lifted her arms above the bath.

“Asema Darksky, great power you are, you shall know your elements,” She said sounding as she had great power. She flicked her hand upwards and the elements went up and danced around one another. Then slowly ascended down into the bath. I looked down into what looked like water, it was swirling around with golden light.

“Daughter, Asema, you shall receive water.”

Then a wave of water shot out and danced around me and went back into a light icon towards the bath and hover on the edge. Shining like a firefly.

“You shall receive Fire.”

A ball of fire shot at me and did a fiery dance around me and went back to the bath to the opposite side of the water.

“You shall receive earth,”

Shooting of the bath was a vine that circled around and bloomed flowers, it soon withered and joined water and fire.

“and lastly Daughter, Asema you shall receive wind.”

This time I couldn’t tell what shot out of the bath but I felt like wind coming around me blowing up my hair and through my skin. It joined the others on the bath edge and this time you could see wind because of the white swirls that were blowing around.

“You have received my daughter” Kadea said then leaned over the bath and touched my cheek. Her touch was soft and warm and made me feel safe knowing I had nothing to fear. She leaned away and formed back into a statue with elements following here returning to their stone shapes. She was statue again not moving. I turned around and saw Emily sitting on the floor like her knees gave out with her mouth wide open. I turned back to the bath and at the bottom was a necklace with all four elements on it.
