Unknown Life (1) (Editing in Progress)

Chapter 10.1

The class ended and we headed to the dining hall for lunch. We chatted and laughed about how we knew each other fighting skills, so we were getting better advantage.

We entered the dining hall, gathered our food and say by the one of the huge glass windows and ate.

Time past and I remembered.

“Hey, how long do have till next class?” I asked Emily. She hummed and searched around her mind probably thinking about time.

“I would say about an hour and half countering now I suppose”

I thought for a moment, I suppose I would have time, I shrugged and thought about my choices. I rose up and waved to Emily.

“Hey where are you going?” she exclaimed.

“I wanted to ask Professor Valdis some questions about some things,” I replied now really need to leave in a hurry.

“Oh okay, well if it helps, it will be on the right couple doors down” replied with help.

I nodded and ran for the doors, pushed them open and turned right passing a few doors and realized she was further than I expected.

I halted to a stop and knocked on the door. Though there was no answer which puzzled me a bit. So, I knocked again. This time it was light but sounded more demanding. After that a faint voice spoke from behind.

“Come in.”

I reached for the knob and opened the door that revealed a decent size office. A desk and two chairs in front of it. There was enough room to fit two medium book shelves. The back week had a nice medium window allowing light. The clouds laid lazily there.

“Hello, Ms. Darksky” Valdis said standing up and gesturing for me to sit across from her.

“Hi, and please call me Asema” I requested.

“Of course,” she replied and we sat down.

“So, what questions do you have for me?”

“So why are royal families ranked and specific power yet are chosen powers, well to be particular who are the first and second Royal Families?” I asked, I bit inside my cheek wondering her answer.

Her expression I could not read, “Asema, these are very good questions to ask, my answer, the first and second royal families exist. First was Kadea and Aenar and second has not been recorded or they have yet to exist.”

I scrunched my eyebrows, “that doesn’t make sense, did they like disappear or invisible or in hiding?” I asked again.

“The second royal family are unknown to anyone except the gods. All we know is that will complete something. They may already live amongst us.”

“Possibly…a hiding royal family” I confirmed.

Valdis nodded.

I glanced at the window, it was brilliant outside allowing inside here to look moody and dark.

“Asema you are more than welcome to search the library but I do not have all the answers as you want. I can give recommendations on books to read,” she said and started writing one a piece of paper and lifted it to me. I hesitated and took it.

“Thank you for helping clear up some things.” I said then rose up from my chair and headed out the door. I felt a little disappointed but strolled through the halls while I gazed down at the paper.

Enchantment at Black Immortals.

History that is Beyond Knowledge.

Secret Weapons.

The next two classes I couldn’t focus, and make matters worse we had homework. A ritual assignment on how to produce one that strengthens a power between your element. Luckily Emily saving grace, she offered to help with the assignment. We headed towards the library and planted ourselves in the rituals section where few of our classmates ended as well.

Who knew how long time had passed when I was researching things about the water elements as Emily said pick one so no one knows I have all four. It was still a safety measure.

“So apparently you need to call on the element say some foreign language and reach for your element,” I said.

Emily did not reply but stared at a fire ritual book eventually she gave up and strolled over to another set of books.

“Oh, the princess Emily, if she could only feel a power…oh wait she can’t” a high pitch giggled.

I brought my attention to a brunette who had a water symbol necklace. She was with a group of girls who had yet entered the ritual section.

Emily barely glanced at her, “it your Majesty Princess Emily Equitem Draco…but that would be too much of a mouthful for you anyways and besides you barely use your element, so how would you know what power feels like Cassondra” Emily back was to the tables, as if saying that was barely anything. I just sat there wide eyes and mouth hanging open. I looked over at the girl who was now fuming but walked away. While Emily joined me with a book.

“That was expressive” I trailed off.

Emily shrugged, “I grew up with sisters, that was like a walk in the park.”

“Still, didn’t think there were bullies like that.” I spoke putting my nose the book, returning my attention to it.

Emily only laughed, “There always bullies, it’s only the matter how to put people in their place so equal life.”

I nodded and allowed time to pass by and started to wonder about the secret weapons book. I rose up and headed over to the help desk where the same old man who looked in his sixties looked up seeing me approach.

“Yes, how can I help you this evening?”

“The secret of weapons book, where is it located?”

He stared at me then gestured to follow him and there we went through the maze of the library.

“This” he said then stepped around a glass case, “is the secret weapons book.”

I gazed upon it and was already enchanted by it.

“You need a key” he reached into his pocket and lifted out a solid iron key that looked medieval. He inserted it in the lock and I heard a pop opening the case, slowly reached in and handed me the book with care.

“Please be gentle it an important book and only a few are remaining,” I nodded and assured him I will. I walked back to Emily and carefully placed it on the table. I sat down and analyzed the cover; it was faded green with a rub planted in the middle. I placed my hand over it and felt the rough fabric.

Opening it the pages were faded to yellow but soon there were a lot of weapons that were drawings and explanation of their powers.

One weapon in particular caught my attention. The size of a dagger with the hilt guard curled in towards the hand. The center of the guard hilt was a red dot the was labelled ’ruby’, everything else looked like a normal dagger. I slid my gaze over the description.

’out of the beauty it is the deadliest to any immortal, no other weapon can kill an Immortal but this one—”

I stopped reading, something beautiful but deadly, there was something beyond that meaning.
