Unknown Life (1) (Editing in Progress)

Chapter 12.1

I knew I was half laying on warm body when I slowly woke up. His left arm around my back holding me. Safe was the word I felt right now. I was in bed with Wolf just being held by him. I peeled my eyes open and looked up and saw his chin along with his eyes rising up and down breathing heavily. It told me he was deep in sleep.

It was peaceful and I didn’t want to leave his side. I could stay here and enjoy this calmness but I should head back or Emily might come looking for me or worse question me. Second option was better.

I slowly rose up and lightly peeled Wolf’s arm off me and tucked it to the side and shifted off the bed and onto my feet and muffled my gasp to the cold floor. I stared to see Wolf and he was still asleep but I had a better view of him.

He looked calm and collective showing evidence that he truly was in a deep sleep meaning sneaking out would be easy. I tiptoed to the closet pulled out my shoes and coat, carefully opened the door and stepped out lightly it closed. And breathed a relief, last night adventure definitely confirmed our attractions to each other.

I sighed out the contentment while I exited outside, I was sharply welcomed by briskness cold. Telling me winter was just around the corner.

Morning felt icy and stabs of coolness hit your face. I wrapped my coat tighter around me enough to get relief.

I forgotten see what time it was as the sun had not come up yet. Only lamps along the path were source of dim light. Bringing a mystical feeling to the grounds.

I was walking in the dark with dim lights that produced shadows onto trees and bushes with only a few corners of buildings. It looked spooky, making me think of Halloween, but no has mentioned it possibly meaning it doesn’t exist. Unless this world has different holidays.

The thought proceeds my mind till I checked my surroundings and realized that I was soon to arrive at my dorm. I quickened my pace.

I entered into a cross section with to paths going across another, I was going to keep straight but I had to watch as I almost bumped into a someone who I saw was blonde boy. I didn’t see him as he was hidden by a building. He stopped as well did I, we both took a step back. I couldn’t tell who it was at first till he leaned into the light and smiled.

“Early riser,” Kieran joked.

I stepped back further, my heart starting to rapidly beat as it maybe fear. “I could say the same thing” I replied.

He gave sly smile, “it is five in the morning I am off to archery practice, want to do some shots before the boys come and practice” he said and leaned against the stone wall closet to him and placed a hand in pocket looking calm. Yet he made the atmosphere a strange feeling.

“You woke up for archery?” I asked in confusion.

He seemed appreciated that I asked him something. But why was I asking, it was like I didn’t have control over my words.

“Archery calms me” he started and somehow moved closer to me. “You need to be calm and focused, no hesitation because if you are good enough you will always land your target” his voice became dangerous when he spoke about target.

That sentence gave me an uncomfortable feeling, I felt I needed to get away now, but there was somehow a connection between us. Or better way of describing the feeling as it felt he was holding me there strengthen it.

And the words flew out, “Target is that important?” I swallowed, I needed to get away.

Kieran looked at me with interest and soon was standing in front of me.

“Well, Asema, luv” he came closer, “because target is unique and sometimes not always hanging on the wall” he practically whispered the last bit.

I swallowed, it felt dry, and my breath was uneasy.

Though somehow, I remembered the power of Kadea, what she showed me.

Instantly I thought of the power allowing it to start in my chest and spread out though my limbs. Soon like a cut I severed Kieran’s connection and felt like it shattered. I could breathe again. I started forward pulsing past Kieran towards my dorm getting much space away from him.

But his voice stopped me dead in my tracks.

“Kadea spoke to you…didn’t she”

I froze for a moment but I forced myself to power through.

About another minute I was at my building and rushed up the stairs while welcoming a warmth my coat could not provide.

I arrived at my room where Emily was still sound asleep in that I rushed over to my bed and flopped in and soon relaxed kicking off my shoes and sluggish my coat off. My mind went to the encounter with Kieran and the power that I somehow used.

Maybe that was the desperate time she spoke about now being in his trance. Though what fumbles my mind is what did do to create a connection like that?

But thinking about that gave me the creeps, I rolled to my side where I found Emily had awaken.

She rubbed her eyes tiredly, “Asema?”

I exhaled preparing myself for her questions. “Yes” I breathed.

She sat up straight and stared at me. “Where were you?”

I breathed again, “At Wolf’s place…I was slept there”

She froze but a smile appeared on her face giving me a sense of playfulness.

“You were with Wolf…like actually?” as if she couldn’t believe it.

I huffed a breath, “Yes, but did sleep together nothing else” I assured her for some reason.

“Did you least sleep well since you were in his arms” she teased.

I went along with it, “Come to think of it, I did sleep well thanks for asking.”

“What does he smell like?”

I scrunched my face but smiled. “What type of question is that?”

She pretending to be baffled, “Because if going to be close might as well know he smells good.”

We both laughed.

“Wait you just got back?” Emily somehow just came to this conclusion.

I nodded in confirmation.

“Why didn’t you stay there?” a concerned laced her voice.

“I didn’t want to be questioned by you, which was no luck” I shrugged off. “But technically that was bad decision since I ran into your brother and he gave me the creeps.” I confessed.

Emily scooted to the edge of the bed, “well if you want Kieran to stay away stick close to Wolf. Kieran actually if afraid of Lycans.” She said and began to get ready. While I thought of her words. That was definitely something I wanted after this morning. I wanted all the space I could get from away from Kieran.
