Unknown Life (1) (Editing in Progress)

Chapter 10

Two days later I have already put the encounter with Kieran and Wolf behind me and forced myself to focus on what was going on.

Classes were happening as usual and from that life went on. Luckily Kieran kept his distance and that allowed me to feel safe as he really did freak me out. Even though I pushed myself forward I did think back to that night as it was still fresh in my mind. Kieran scarlet eyes, they were possessive yet had no emotion in them as if goodness or life never existed. But with Wolf there was life and power but not the same power of Kieran.

I felt calm and relaxed with Wolf but with Kieran it was pure fear and being uncomfortable.

I exited my thoughts as I did and not to over think about the two boys. I laid on my bed staring at the canopy, all it was is dark and blank. The sun was little later rising up as the light was passing through the clouds. I was not sure how this day was going to but I knew I should get dressed and ready before Emily starts freaking out on me. The door to the bathroom opened the moment I stood and strolled over to my dresser while Emily was putting on the last bit of her jewelry.

“You look nice” I commented.

She smiled, “I would say the same but you look as if you wanted to be lazy…I mean sleepwear is cute…but not for class.”

I laughed and went to the bathroom passing by and entered the room. I stopped for a moment and gazed at my myself in the mirror, I was still not used to my new looks but I shrugged and began getting ready.

Emily and I were on the move, now heading to Magic Arts class. Our lesson consists of more questions with fewer answers. From that I wanted to talk over with our professor after class but I never gotten the chance as I forgot or wanted to be at my other class on time. My thoughts must have taken over again as I found myself tripping a little bit over a few stones and my own feet. Which made Emily mad.

“Asema for crying out loud it is left, right, left just get out of that your head” she urged.

I only could laugh as she was funny when she gets mad, but there it was small smile turning into laugh. She tried to hide it but she failed.

We walked under the usual archways till we entered into the doorway that was already crowded with multiple students. The clambering of shoes and murmurs of voices, it began to feel familiar as it always did. There were no worries, we were grouped into a crowd and ascended up the stairs to where our class was located.

Entering I saw Wolf at the back looking down at some notebook, though he must have sensed me and looked up and smiled. I returned it and settled myself into my seat which led my gaze up the board and waited while having small talk with Emily till the Valdis arrived.

She strolled in, “Morning class”

“Morning Professor Valdis” we replied.

Smiling, she actually made the classroom feel brighter, and that somehow lightened my mood in a way.

She went to the board and wrote the topic of discussion.

Magic Arts – Line of Royalty

New section I suppose.

“This new unit is about unknown powers or hidden ones that are known to some but not others.”

Emily leaned over and whispered, “This will be fun,” sarcasm was laced in her voice, I frowned at her.

“Unknown powers as before are something we are not aware of or have not discussed, we only know of four elements but that is it…yet there are powers out there as not everyone has powers even though they should. Example the Equitem Draco family.”

Oh, now I understand, I glanced over at Emily and she seemed bored already. She pursed her lips together and sighed.

I leaned over to her, “You okay?”

A bit startled, she nodded, “Yeah I am fine, just don’t care for this lesson.”

I nodded and paid attention Valdis.

“—most of you know Equitem Draco is a ancient family as they are ranked as third royal family to come into existence. But what is special is they were the first to discover that elements were not their power…allowing for us to believe there was more out there.” The prof began to stroll at the front. “It allows us to believe there is something greater as the elements, but they still need to figure out what it is.”

“Thank you reminding me” Emily grumbled under her breath.

“It also may us to believe that there powers may not need jewelry to control it,” she gestured with their arms. “Now we have that out the way, lets speak about the elements kingdoms.”

“Element as you know come from ancient lines, example the Fotiá family that is fire. They are the source of it, they specialize in fire and are part of the royal family clan.”

My mind went back when she said third royal family, who was the first and second royal family, why are they not mentioned?

“—With water, they join the clan, water is Aqua, they live on the ocean close to the Pacific as in the middle. Earth, earth which is Terra, they are powerful with anything from ground, they live in the Amazon and are well hidden. Lastly air, they are called Caeli except they are not planted like the other kingdoms are, their kingdom floats in the air but only in one spot. So don’t worry they won’t crash into us,” she assured the class with a bit of humour.

I rolled my eyes, I wasn’t worried about that till now. Prof Valdis kept speaking about these royal ancient line families and how they were all connected like a flow if energy. If one broke they all would soon fade and so would our powers.

Class ended and I allowed Emily to go on without me to combat tactics telling her I would catch up before it started. I was going to take time to talk with Valdis.

After everyone left, I walked up to her desk and cleared my throat; she looked up and smiled sending a calmness through my body.

“Yes, Asema” her voice was like windchimes.

“I have a question though I don’ have much time” now I realized I had a long way to walk.

“No need to worry, come to my office afterwards during lunch and we can talk” she encouraged.

“And where would that be?” I asked.

She laughed, “It is by the dinner hall, you will see my name on the door.”

I nodded and walked out to door towards combat tactics. I guess I will try this speed running. I focused, drew in a breath and gazed for my path soon enough everything around me was blurred and soon I stopped myself in front of the gym doors. I pressed my palms and pushed the door opened.

Already seeing boys fighting Wolf just for some jokes, Wolf easily was defeating them, I don’t know why they kept trying.

I entered into the change room and pulled my gear on and tied my hair up, walked out and spotted Emily and Damon talking to each other though looked as if they were having a serious conversation. Probably about something between them.

I approached them and they abruptly stopped in mid-sentence. It felt awkward as I caught them saying something they shouldn’t. I didn’t say anything about just checked my surroundings and saw a few other chatting about.

His booming voice came, “Today we will be using rods, grab a partner and wait on further instructions.” He hollered.

I followed the crowd and Emily found me and we collected our rods. Joining the crowd gathering to the middle, everyone settled and waited.

“Okay now that everyone is here,” he sneered as some late students who walked into the class, “we will learn about defence and attack, main goal, know where your blind spot is.”

He turned around and searched for someone which was Wolf and gestured him to step forward.

“Right then, Wolf, shall we?” he questioned.

Wolf nodded and they gave each other space between themselves. They held the rods up horizontal, Wolf attacked first overhead, while Dimitri defended himself by leaning back and bringing his weapon. Pushed it away with great force. Wolf quickly went down on his side and swiped the instructor under his feet.

I thought it was over but Dimitri was back on his feet by flipping up backwards and dabbed Wolf on the collarbone.

“You walked away, there is your blind spot, you were busy looking to trip me when you didn’t see how I could regain control and stabbed you in the collarbone.” He informed Wolf and all of us. He faced us, “Remember no matter how good you are make sure you are aware of your blind spots are and around you” he explained.

How could someone always look around while fighting to know where everything is. Someone was going to have an opening even if attacks are knew about them or not.

“Okay, start, decide who want to go first.”

I faced Emily and she gave me a expressive looked like she was going to enjoy this.

“Are you ready to get your ass kicked?

I laughed and we moved to a spot, I readied myself with one swift move and knocked her off her feet. She landed on her butt and looked at me surprised.

“I am pretty sure you’re the one where your ass will be beaten” I replied with a smirk.

She laughed and but suddenly aimed her stick in my stomach which I luckily saw and was able to deflect it.

“Remember your blind spots”

I brought my attention to him but it was only a glance except it was enough to distract me from Emily who aim and hit me in the side. I fell to my knees, I groaned from her hit and twisted it forcing Emily to fall to my level.

“Geez Asema I didn’t realize how hard I hit, but you have gotten better”

I joined in her enthusiasm, “I am not sure what it is but feels if I was meant to do this.” I grabbed her hand and lifted her up.

“Yeah, I would say” she agreed and her eyes darted behind me and I heard my instructor.

We stopped and gave him our attention.

“You guys are doing great and Asema you still hesitant in your hits but you have been improving greatly over the semester keep it up and Emily you are improving as well, showing your dominance in when you are attacking, better than when you were scared to hit. I am proud of you girls” Dimitri voice was actually soft.

“Thank you, sir,” I replied.

He nodded and walked away.

Emily stared are me, “He never compliments” Emily was stunned.

We continued and returned to throwing blows and blocking them while getting a few blind spots here and there.
