Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire

Chapter 168

Marco blinked as he heard the melodic sound of music near his bed. Slowly opening his eyes, he discovered a music player producing a beautiful melody. Scanning the room, Marco found no one, including Letta. He tried to sit up. "Darling," Marco called out, but there was no response. Moments later, the bathroom door opened, revealing Letta in a fresh dress. Marco furrowed his brow at the sight of Letta no longer in a patient's attire.

"The doctor said I'm perfectly fine, so I've been discharged from the hospital and declared recovered," Letta explained, seemingly understanding her husband's gaze. She sat on the edge of the bed where Marco was. "Well then, I'd like to change out of these clothes too," Marco said, prompting Letta to shake her head.

"You can't. Your condition isn't completely stable yet. The doctor said you need another two or three days of rest," Letta stated, causing Marco to shake his head.

"But these clothes are uncomfortable. I can wear my other clothes. I'll ask Pedro to bring them from the hotel," Marco insisted, attempting to argue.

"Just wear what the hospital provides. Can't you listen a bit and not be so stubborn?" Letta retorted. For some reason, she felt a bit assertive towards Marco, who finally smiled.

"It seems my cute wife has turned into a vigilant one," Marco remarked, but Letta didn't respond and instead grabbed the breakfast that had been sitting on the nightstand since earlier.

"Stop teasing me. I'm acting like this because I want you to recover quickly and get out of here. I want us to go home soon," Letta said, silencing Marco.

"Do you want to go back to our country?" Marco asked, and Letta nodded.

I don't know why, the longer I stay here, the more suffocated I feel. Especially after the unfortunate incident that befell us, maybe I don't want to return to this country again. Although I admit the places here are beautiful, I don't want to come back to this place for a second time," Letta said, lowering her face, prompting Marco to extend his hand. After that, Letta looked up, gazing back at him "Forgive me for imprinting bitter memories for you here," Marco said, causing Letta to shake her head.

"It's not your fault, but can you please take me home as soon as possible?" Letta asked, and Marco nodded.

"Even now, I can take you home. I don't care about these wounds," Marco said, making Letta shake her head.

"I want to go home after you're declared fully recovered. I don't want to mess everything up, especially making your condition worse," Letta said, finally looking back at the breakfast on her lap.

"Now it's time for you to take your medicine, so you need to have breakfast first," Letta said.

"But I just woke up. I need to clean myself first," Marco said.

"You still can't shower. Look, those bandages are still securely attached to your body," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.

"Even when the wounds were still bleeding, I could withstand a saline wash. Let alone just a regular shower, I'll be fine," Marco said, causing Letta to stand up from her seat.

"Stop being selfish and follow whatever the doctor says. Do you want to stay confined in this hospital and let me stay here?" Letta said with a raised tone, making Marco startled. Likewise, Letta immediately silenced herself. Letta didn't know why she was getting more disturbed by what she was thinking, until she chose to put her breakfast back on the nightstand.

"Forgive me, I think I haven't had enough sleep," Letta apologized, and finally, they reconciled as she went back into the bathroom. Letta could only hold her racing breath. For some reason, Letta became extremely unstable like this, to the point where she felt so angry with just a few words from Marco. Previously, Letta was never bothered by anything Marco wanted or insisted on about her. Similarly, Marco now only stared at the closed bathroom door, shadowed by Letta's earlier outburst, as if pulling Marco back into the past where Letta always resisted him. When he used to be rough with Letta, Marco finally got out of bed, took slow steps, then knocked on the bathroom door. "Darling, come out," Marco said.

"I'm fine. I'll come out after I finish using the bathroom," Letta said, making Marco silent. Marco knew what his wife was doing in there. He must also be surprised by her behavior.

"Come out or let me in. I know you're not doing anything in there," Marco said, and eventually, the bathroom door slowly opened, making Marco look at Letta, who was now just silent with her head bowed.

"Forgive me for yelling in front of you. I don't know why my emotions are like this; suddenly I feel angry, but I didn't mean to get mad at you. I'm not a child that you should control, and I know that. I don't know why I feel like my emotions are being controlled by someone else's feelings," Letta said, making Marco understand what his wife was feeling. Marco finally reached out and gently cupped her face.

"You have every right to be mad at me. You can unleash all the emotions you're feeling right now. You can cry, you can laugh, you can get angry, you can scold me. Whatever you want, I won't be angry," Marco said, causing Letta to extend her head.

"That's not the point. I feel like I don't recognize myself since all of Jacob's words, since the words that make me feel something uncomfortable that I'm feeling now. And I seem to be venting all my uncertain anger at you. I really feel ashamed of myself for not being able to control and also desire. Actually, what do I want?" Letta said, making Marco finally smile.

"Without you saying it, I know what you're feeling right now. It's not wrong. What confuses you at the moment, you're entitled to feel it. You shouldn't hold it back. I won't be angry or disappointed because I truly understand my wife's situation. It must be difficult to go through everything without you knowing what happened in your past. And I can't help you too much," Marco said, making Letta fall silent.

"But one thing you must make sure of is that you always have to believe that I will always be by your side. Whether you're angry, disappointed, or whatever it is. I will never leave you. I will never be disappointed with your attitude towards me," Marco said, causing Letta to fall silent for a moment. After that, Letta closed her eyes when she felt Marco getting closer. Letta felt how Marco gave a warm kiss, warming her heart, as if making her forget the emotions she felt before. Marco, with his kiss, seemed to reassure Letta with his mere presence by her side, making Letta should already feel a bit relieved, even though she didn't know anything about what happened to her and what she was currently feeling.
