Chapter 167
Letta then extended her hand, stroking her husband's firm jaw.
"If it's too much, you don't have to force anything you want to do right now. Whatever you feel for me at this moment," Letta said, causing Marco to grasp Letta's hand on the side of his face.
"I love you," Marco finally uttered, rendering Letta speechless.
"That's what I feel right now. Even though I've never said it directly. Isn't the fear I've felt of losing you all this time a representation of the love within me?" Marco said, again silencing Letta, before she nodded. Moments later, Letta pulled Marco closer and pressed her lips against his, allowing Marco to feel the softness moving between their lips.
"That's what I want to hear," Letta said amidst the kiss she gave, making Marco finally pull her waist closer to reciprocate the kiss slowly.
"I will tell you how much you want to hear from my mouth that I truly love you," Marco said, causing Letta to nod, though something felt uneasy in her heart. Letta tried to forget it, even though she didn't know what answer she really wanted to ensure. Letta could feel when Marco started sliding his fingers onto the nape of her neck to deepen their kiss. Letta could also feel Marco's gentle tongue slipping through the gap between her lips, intertwining with each other, feeling the warmth now woven between them.
"Marco, that's enough," Letta said, unraveling their lip connection, making Marco silent as he stared at the tiny blushing lips of his wife.
"I'm still not satisfied," Marco whispered right in front of Letta's face, who could only look down.
"We need to rest. Your condition is still not fully recovered," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.
"A kiss won't drain my energy," Marco said, causing Letta to look at him again.
"Can you promise that it will end with just a kiss?" Letta asked because she knew well how her husband couldn't restrain himself just with a kiss like this. Marco would surely keep tempting her, and in the end, Letta would surrender to everything Marco wanted. It seemed to be realized by herself when Marco pulled the corner of his lips, displaying a smile that looked so beautiful in front of Letta.
"Guess I hit the mark, and you can't deny it yourself?" Letta asked, making Marco once again respond with a smile.
"Yes, because I really can't resist you," Marco said again.
"That's why I say it's enough here. I don't want to hurt you or make your wounds worse," Letta said, causing Marco to furrow his brow.
"Does doing something like that require a lot of energy? It won't require much energy. We'll just do it as usual," Marco said, making Letta shake her head.
"I know how much energy you exert when you touch me," Letta said, imagining how Marco seemed to be holding back. How the growls felt heavy, how the veins on every muscle looked prominent and perfect in front of Letta. How he kept moving and penetrating to merge with her. And if they did it now, it would surely cause the existing wounds on Marco's body to possibly reopen and create new ones, thought Letta, who finally shook her head.
"I don't want to hurt you again," Letta said.
"It won't happen," Marco said quickly.
"Yes, it can happen. I know, and I can feel it when you can't restrain yourself when we do it," Letta said, finally causing Marco to pull her waist closer.

"Then let me touch you like this," Marco said, bringing his face close to the hollow of Letta's neck, making Letta close her eyes as she felt the warm breath on her neck, feeling Marco's lips pressing against her skin. "Marco, stop," Letta said while holding their shoulders, stopping Marco's movement.
"Why does it sound like you're rejecting me right now?" Marco said, making Letta nod her head.
"I am indeed rejecting you," Letta said again.
"But this is not the usual rejection. You seem reluctant for me to touch you," Marco said again.
"I don't want you to touch me right now because I'm concerned about your condition," Letta replied.
"It's not what I feel. Is there something bothering you right now?" Marco asked.
"There isn't, I've already said that."
"It's because of that bastard earlier, isn't it? Because of his arrival, you've changed like this. Because usually, even if you reject at first like this, in the end, you'll let me do what I want," Marco said again, making Letta shake her head. "And from now on, you can't behave like that. We are in a relationship, so we have to commit to each other. You shouldn't be selfish if I don't want it," Letta said, appearing firm with Marco, leaving him silent.
"Fine, if you don't want me to do anything, I'll assume it's because you're concerned, not because you're thinking about that damn guy," Marco said, irritated.
"Stop cursing your cousin. Regardless, he's your family," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.
"He's not my family. I don't consider him as my family," Marco said, causing Letta to fall silent before choosing to turn around and sleep with her back to her husband.
"I'm tired. I want to sleep. If you still want to argue with me, I'll go to my bed over there," Letta said, making Marco look at the bed across from him. Marco finally rubbed his face roughly and chose to pull Letta into his embrace, gently hugging her belly and stroking it.
"Forgive me; maybe I'm too sensitive because of Jacob's arrival. I apologize if my behavior is like this too. I just can't restrain myself when I'm close to you," Marco whispered right at the hollow of Letta's neck, making her close her eyes as Marco caressed her belly.
"If you're tired, you can sleep. I won't disturb you anymore, I promise," Marco said, but Letta didn't respond at all. Letta continued to think about things she might have forgotten in her past. Somehow Jacob's words made her uneasy. Letta still couldn't close her eyes, still feeling Marco caressing her round belly. Maybe there's something Marco has been hiding from her, Letta thought. Perhaps Letta wanted to find something about her memories from the past. There's doubt creeping into her heart, a curiosity filling her mind. Letta is disturbed by it, even though she is not doubting her feelings for Marco right now. But Letta needs to make sure of something. Letta will ask Marco to go back to their home country as soon as he recovers. Letta also doesn't want to linger in a foreign country that has left her with bad memories. Until finally, Letta tried to close her eyes; at least she might get a beautiful dream if she falls asleep, Letta thought. Similarly, Marco was just arranging his wife's hair, feeling that something was wrong with her since Jacob's arrival. Especially since that person said things that Letta shouldn't have heard. It must have sparked curiosity in his wife, Marco thought, also wary of what Letta would do next.
