Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire

Chapter 166

Letta gazed directly at Marco, her eyebrows raised, as if she were awaiting an explanation from her husband.

"Marco, I really am curious about what your cousin meant earlier," Letta said, causing Marco to finally let out a long sigh.

"Don't pay attention to what Jacob said. You know he's just someone who talks nonsense. He's only trying to pique your curiosity," Marco said, causing Letta to shake her head. "But I didn't see it that way," Letta replied.

"He seemed serious. I want to know about my previous encounter with Jacob, before I lost my memory, before we met again at that exhibition," Letta said, making Marco finally look at his wife.

"The meeting wasn't pleasant because he's someone who doesn't deserve anyone's kindness. And you, when you first met him, you were able to judge him well. You didn't even want to get close to him. He was already annoying during our first meeting at my parents' house," explained Marco, leaving Letta speechless.

"What did he do, exactly?" asked Letta, because previously she had clearly heard that Jacob only wanted to get close to her cousin's wife. But she immediately put on a fearful expression.

"Was I really scared at that time? What was I afraid of, or maybe I was afraid that you would be jealous of Jacob, or what?" asked Letta, who didn't understand the situation.

"It's too complicated for me to explain. But one thing's for sure, you didn't like Jacob's behavior," said Marco, leaving Letta silent. However, for some reason, the last time she met Jacob at the exhibition, Letta thought Jacob was a good person. Even though he was a bit annoying earlier, maybe her judgment was wrong. But upon hearing Jacob's explanation, Letta felt like there was something unsettling in her heart.

"Let it go, you don't need to dwell on trivial matters like that," said Marco. After that, he went to grab a drink from the nightstand, but stopped when Letta spoke up again. "I'm curious. How did you feel about me before I lost my memory?" Letta said, causing Marco to fall silent for a moment, before he returned to look at his wife with a smile. "Of course, as best as I can. How should I treat my wife, after all?" Marco asked, causing Letta to fall silent as she gazed into her husband's eyes. After that, she shook her head.

"No, just forget it. Maybe Jacob just wanted to create misunderstandings between us," Letta said, choosing to avoid any further debate between her and Marco. This made Marco smile, and he pulled Letta back into his embrace. "Alright then. How about we rest for now? Besides, it's already late, isn't it?" Marco said, leaving Letta silent. After that, she looked towards the package that Jacob had brought earlier.

"What about all that?" Letta asked, looking at the bouquet of flowers and the fruit basket.

"I'll tell Pedro to dispose of them," Marco replied, making Letta click her tongue in annoyance.

"You always throw away things given by others, even though they might have given them sincerely," Letta said.

"What should I do then?" asked Marco, feeling somewhat conflicted about his decision.

"Just leave the flowers here. They aren't bothering anyone, and as for the fruits, you can give them to Pedro and the other guards to eat if you don't want them. Or I'll eat them myself," Letta said, making Marco let out a long sigh. It seemed he had to follow his wife's wishes if he didn't want Letta to be upset with him again.

"Alright, then I'll have Pedro take them away and leave the flowers here," Marco said, making Letta nod. Letta was about to get off the bed when Marco stopped her.

"Where are you going?" Marco asked, feeling as if Letta's demeanor had changed slightly. Somehow, Letta still seemed upset or angry with him.

"Of course, to rest. Didn't you say we should rest soon because it's already late?" Letta said, making Marco shake his head.

"I did tell you to rest, but to rest in the same bed as me. Besides, this bed is big enough for the both of us," Marco said, making Letta fall silent before shaking her head. "No, I want to sleep in my own bed," Letta said again, making Marco gently embrace Letta's waist.

"Why is something bothering you?" Marco asked, making Letta fall silent before shaking her head.

"No, I don't want to make you uncomfortable. Besides, your wounds still haven't fully healed. I'm afraid that if I sleep with you in the same bed, you might be slightly disturbed," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.

"That won't happen. I, in fact, feel comfortable with you by my side. I can hold you gently," Marco said, making Letta seemingly unable to refute her husband's desire. Letta just wanted to sleep while pondering what was really bothering her. Even though Marco had answered all her questions, Letta felt like there was something being hidden by her husband. But Letta didn't want to push or dig any deeper because she knew Marco might feel that she didn't trust his words. "Alright, then," Letta said, finally yielding to all of Marco's words, causing Marco to shift slightly. After that, Letta immediately fell asleep in her husband's embrace.

"Is it okay if you sleep like this?" Letta asked, making Marco shake his head again.

"No, just forget about these wounds. They're just minor injuries," Marco said again.

"I'm telling you, they're not minor. There's a stab wound on your shoulder and a gunshot wound on your back. Those are injuries that could really take you away from my life. Don't underestimate your life. Not in the least, I don't like hearing that," Letta said, making Marco finally smile.

"You're worried about me?" Marco asked, making Letta fall silent, gazing into her husband's eyes, which were looking at her with affection.

"Of course. How could I not worry about the man who is my husband?" Letta said again, making Marco fall silent for a moment. He felt something tickling his heart, a single question that now crossed his mind, one that he wanted to know directly.

"Do you love me?" Marco asked again, making Letta fall silent.

"Haven't I expressed my love for you too many times? But it seems I still haven't heard you say you love me," Letta said. All this time, Letta had only heard that Marco was afraid of losing her, that Marco wanted to protect her, and that she was the most precious thing in Marco's life. However, Letta had never heard the direct expression of love from her husband.

"I want to hear your feelings directly," Letta said again, making Marco fall silent once more. He just continued to gaze into his wife's eyes.

"Why is it so difficult for you to express your feelings if you truly love me? But if it feels difficult, you don't have to say it. I won't force you," Letta said, making Marco reach out and gently stroke Letta's cheek.

"Why do you want to hear it?" Marco asked again.

"You yourself, why do you ask if I love you? Isn't that something that's already certain? Even though I don't know our past, I'm sure that I love you," Letta said again, making Marco fall silent. They remained silent for so long, as if seeing each other's feelings through the gaze they exchanged. Somehow, it made Letta feel a little disappointed that Marco didn't say what she wanted to hear.
