To My Shattered Soul

Chapter Slumber

At first, it felt like I was falling into a deep slumber.

Then I felt nothing.

I saw nothing.

Until I felt some electrical shock over my chest.

Then I heard the beep sound.

Then it went back to nothing, then again felt the same shock and then the beeping sound, it almost happened thrice, and finally, I felt something! I sensed a red light touching my eyelids.

I opened my eyes and saw myself standing in a small room in front of a glass it was so small if a person wanted to rest they couldn’t, neither could they fold their legs nor could they open their arms, I was surrounded by red dark light.

At first, it was disturbing I didn’t understand where I was, but when I caught my senses I saw on the other side of the glass was a big bedroom.

It was pretty messed up which clearly describes that the room was owned by a man, the glass was in the corner, and on the right side there was a door which appeared to be the door to enter and exit the room, in front of me was a small door.

Not sure what was in there, then there was a desk beside that door with files lying on it and a laptop, in the middle there was a bed with clothes lying on it and after the desk was a window.

After inspecting the entire room I realized there was a man sitting on the bed, he was wearing a jacket and a cap.

“I am a loser!” He said. I placed my hand on the glass and then heard him talking again

“All my life has been a waste! All my struggles for nothing!” He said and before I could understand why I was there he got out of the window and jumped down,

I was left speechless, I was shaking. I fell and started crying, all that scenario of Ellie’s suicide replayed inside my brain.

I kept crying hiding my face under my arms, “I’m in hell and it is my punishment for killing myself, now I have to see suicides” This is what came to my mind.

Hours passed and I saw the curtain moving, I stood up quickly and got closer to the glass, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the same guy in the cap and jacket walking back in from the same window

“You are alive?”

I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and he looked back at me.

For a couple of minutes, he kept staring at me then he laughed like an idiot.

“I got it!” He hid his hands in his pockets and turned his upper body left and right “I’m in the wrong house, sorry!” He said and reached the window but before I said anything he looked at the desk and turned his face back to me.

“Hmm... This is my house, you… Oh, now I get it” He smiled and started walking toward the bed “I am so high that I am seeing things that don’t exist in my room” He whispered and fell on the bed.

“Hey!” I said but he fell asleep right after he fell, he was really high but it looked like this wasn’t the reason why I was there.

When he slept I had nothing else to do, I kept thinking about many things, maybe I would disappear once I fell asleep, maybe this was some kind of prank and I was alive? But why would anyone keep me in the glass?

Speaking of, I wasn’t suffocating in such a small place especially when it had no opening or windows or any kind of ventilation.

I stayed awake until sunrise but still no hunger, no exhaustion nothing! When the alarm rang he woke up getting out of the other side of the bed.

“Good morning!” I spoke.

He shook his head as if he was imagining things, and opened the other door in front, for my knowledge it was a bathroom.

It took him almost an hour to fresh up, he got out without a shirt rubbing his head with a towel, his build was quite attractive, muscular body, average height, dark brown hair, and almond eyes, when he got closer he almost jumped and fell on the bed

“What the… What is happening?” He was scared to death “Wait a minute you were here! Last night! Wait.. have you been here all night?” He stood back up.

I nodded.

“Why are you here? In my mirror? What are you? You look like a fairy when we look at your appearance but God will never send a fairy for a guy like me, are you a Succubus?” He got close to the glass staring at me from head to toe.

“What?” I was confused and I looked at my clothes, I was wearing a white gown with a collar and a small broach on the chest, I never had this dress, I don’t know where that dress came from

“No! I…” I stammered at first clenching my fists “Believe me I’m anything but a fairy” I amitted a heavy breath.

“Let me first get you out of here! Okay?” He said and asked me to step as far as possible.

When he smashed his chair on the glass this was the first time I felt suffocation I was feeling sweaty, the lights around me started blinking, where ever he was hitting was turning a wall in front of me.

After a few hits he panicked, he stopped and sat on his knees to peek in, I dragged myself closer to the glass, he saw how quickly I was slipping away, I was losing my breath and he said something that I couldn’t hear, I struggled to stay but in the end, I fainted.

When I opened my eyes again I saw him mending the very last piece of the glass, in order to keep me alive he mended it.

I was now looking at him from behind the jagged mirror.

The room seemed slightly bigger than before or maybe I was making it home! I stood up with heavy feet, but at least I could breathe now.

“Are you okay?” He asked.
