Chapter 62
Chapter 62 My Mercy
Bianca was busy thinking as she lightly patted Judy’s back to calm her down. After a while, the light in her eyes suddenly lit up.
“That’s right, baby girl. Mommy just remembered something your father told me a while back.”
“What is it? I don’t want to know anything else except for the company’s daily business.”
Judy calmed down after her tantrum as if she had vented most of her anger and no longer wanted to talk. In the end, Bianca leaned closer
to Judy’s ear, cupped her hands between her mouth and Judy’s ear, and softly whispered to her.
“Dear daughter of mine, let me tell you. That Gwyneth’s CEO position may not be for long.”
Judy suddenly got excited from hearing this and immediately grabbed Bianca’s hands to reconfirm what she had heard.
“Really?! What happened?”
“Your father told me a few days ago that he was coming up with a plan with the directors of Glen Corporation to set up Gwyneth.”
Bianca could not help but reveal her excitement after saying that. She explained the happenings at Glacier Lake to Judy without holding out on any details. Gwyneth would likely become impoverished and even face the possibility of imprisonment.
Judy finally felt a sense of happiness after listening to Bianca. The stifling feeling in her chest suddenly dissipated, and she immediately smiled, “I originally didn’t plan to work at Glen Corporation anymore. But hearing what you said, I must go no matter what.”
“Why?”
Perhaps due to the difference in intentions, Judy’s perspective caught Bianca off guard. Then, she saw Judy’s eyebrow arched slightly, seemingly happy.
“How would I be able to see my dear sister’s downfall if I don’t go to the office?”
Hearing that Bianca finally understood as both mother and daughter smiled at each other.
Judy went to work, as usual, the next day, only to see everything was gone when she entered her office. “W–What happened here?!”
The personnel from the HR department was cleaning up Judy’s things when her voice startled him, “M–Ms. Glen.”
Everyone in the company knew Judy was Gaspard’s daughter, especially someone from the HR department. The most crucial thing was, though Glen Corporation had not changed its name, the person in control had already changed..
“What happened here?! Who allowed you to move my office?!”
“I–It’s our CEO. She had just issued the order.”
‘Gwyneth again…” said Judy as she gritted her teeth. Any form of rationale was lost in the flames of her rage.
Not giving a damn about the morning rush around her, where many employees moved about, she headed upstairs directly to the CEO’s office. Since the door was already opened, she walked straight into the office, only to see Gwyneth brewing a cup of coffee and looking carefree.
“Gwyneth Glen! You better have a good explanation for me!”
Gwyneth heard the voice, and the movement of her hand stalled for an instant. She turned her head to look at Judy and smiled coldly.” Who gave you the courage to barge into the CEO’s office, Ms. Glen? You better have a good explanation for this.”
According to company regulations, Judy knew she was in the wrong. But the events leading up to now made her ignore them.
“Alright. Is that how a CEO should act? To move my office without even a notice? How are you going to explain this?!”
“You want an explanation? Sure,” said Gwyneth in a soft tone. She turned around, continued to brew her coffee, and returned to her seat after about half a minute.
She crossed her legs, lowered her head, and sipped at the coffee before continuing.
“Ms. Glen, you were late to arrive at work yesterday and did not follow the company’s regulations. You reprimanded one of our frontline employees and even left work early without reason.”
That said, Gwyneth lifted her head and looked at Judy’s stiff face, snorting. “I believe it’s merciful enough of me not to fire you on the spot, Ms. Glen.”
Just as she mentioned, any normal employee that throws a tantrum like that would have been fired by the company long ago. After hearing what was said, Judy was so stupefied she was unable to refute it, even if she wanted to.
“Your workstation is currently being moved to the main lobby. Someone from the HR department will lead you there in a while, Ms. Glen.”
Gwyneth looked coldly at Judy, not bothering to even smile at her.
“It is also fine if you are arrogant enough to hand in your resignation letter, Ms. Glen.”
Gwyneth coldly smiled as Judy trembled slightly, turned around, left the office, and slammed the door behind her. Looking at the coffee before her, she blinked, got up, and threw the cup’s contents into the basin.
“Even coffee will taste odd with a nuisance around.”
At that moment, a soft knock on the door could be heard. Gwyneth adjusted her expression and answered the door, only to see Wanda come in with a stack of documents.
“Ms. Glen, the Board of Directors requested a meeting this afternoon.”
‘Someone really is impatient.‘
Gwyneth inwardly smiled when she heard Wanda’s report.
