Chapter 61
Chapter 61 | Lack a Secretary
Hearing this, Wanda abruptly lifted her head and looked at Gwyneth with a face full of surprise. Some teardrops remained at the corner of her eyes, making her look pitiful yet cute.
“Why? Are you not willing?” asked Gwyneth. She took a liking upon seeing Wanda’s current expression, stepped forward, and blinked her
eyes.
“But. Ms. Glen, I’ve just graduated recently and am only here as an Intern. I…”
This young lady was clearly terrified by Gwyneth and could not even speak properly. In Wanda’s eyes, if she did not experience this first- hand, this must be a dream too good to be true.
“I know, I know. Just tell me if you’re willing to or not,” said Gwyneth with her arms crossed. She continued to exude her own unique
charisma toward Wanda.
*O–Of course, I’m willing to. But I don’t know what to do in that position and would burden you, Ms. Glen.”
“Wouldn’t everything be fine with just an ‘I’m willing to“?”
Hearing a satisfactory reply, Gwyneth took Wanda by the wrist and entered the office. Wanda turned stiff, and her mind remained in a state of confusion.
“Why am I here in Ms. Glen’s office when I have only joined here for two days?! To be more precise, one day and two hours only!”
“Wanda, I couldn’t finish many of my tasks and need a secretary. Do you think you want to give it a try?”
It was Wanda’s turn to blink her eyes. She looked at the smiling woman sitting in front of her. Wanda would think her to be more of a caring neighbor than a CEO if they were to have met in a different setting. In fact, when she submitted her resume to Glen Corporation, she
had already known that the CEO was a woman that only differed by a few years in age but was more capable.
Just like any fresh graduate, Wanda also had aspirations of her own. Her aim at Glen Corporation was, firstly, to learn and, lastly, to meet this immensely capable woman.
But now…
Gwyneth laughed when she saw Wanda’s silence, apparently still in shock.
“Of course, you can take your time and consider. But I am promoting you because I believe you can take on this heavy responsibility.”
Having been through the same thing, she naturally knew what was going on in the young lady’s mind.
Besides, Gwyneth believed she was still quite accurate at determining a person’s character.
Such a chance is not only to fulfill a person’s dream but also to fulfill her own as well. Her one sentence also struck a chord in Wanda’s
heart.
After much consideration, Wanda looked like she had firmly made her decision. She approached Gwyneth and said, “Thank you, Ms. Glen. for giving me this chance.”
Looking at the situation, Gwyneth smiled with satisfaction, knowing she would have someone under her moving forward.
On the other hand, Judy, who Gwyneth had just played a fool of, did not stay in the office, and opted to return home. She slammed her hands on the steering wheel and gritted her teeth, wishing so much that she could give Gwyneth a few good slaps.
Once she arrived at the Glen Residence, she plunged head–first into the sofa and screamed as if her life depended on it. The attendants were shocked as they looked at each other, nol daring to go forward to console. This had, after all, happened many times before. When they approached, trying to console her; they received an earful instead.
At the same moment, Bianca, who was resting on the second floor, heard the scream from downstairs and immediately went to the source and was heartbroken when she saw the grieving Judy on the sofa.
“What happened, baby girl? What happened? Who bullied you?” She got even more exasperated when she saw Judy ignore her question while continuing to grieve.
She immediately sat on the sofa and used half her strength to pull Judy up.
“Quickly tell Mommy! What happened? Don’t make me worry…”
“What else could it be lest for that cursed Gwyneth?”
“What happened? Did Gwyneth use her position to bully you? Or…?”
“Obviously! What a good ‘sister‘ she is! She docked my pay and even deducted my bonus when I went to work today.”
“What?!”
“There’s more! That woman even stood up for a newly entered worker and blamed me!”
The more Judy talked, the angrier she got. She finally snapped, taking the vase from the table, and smashing it on the floor with a loud. bang that even Bianca was shocked. The attendants around them gol even paler as they hurriedly vacated the area.
No one expected the young lady to do something as crazy as that when she snapped.
Bianca may not have anything to say about Judy’s temperament but was more heartbroken.
‘How could I let it go when it was my own biological daughter that had been bullied by that bitch?‘
