Chapter 115
Chapter 115 Let’s Sign A Contract
Gwyneth gently rocked her body while staring at Liam with interest. She asked, “You Just wanted to explain this? I get it now.”
Gwyneth was unsure of his plans, but she had to admit that hearing Liam explain the situation about Elizabeth gave her great relief. She assumed there had to be more to it, given his somber demeanor.
Liam’s gaze softened when he saw that Gwyneth was listening to him. Before responding, he briefly turned his attention away and stared at his empty teacup. He continued, “I also want to say that even though our marriage contract is due, the two of us aren’t over.”
Even though Gwyneth was not particularly shocked by Liam’s statement, she was still a little taken aback. If it were not for Liam’s serious tone, Gwyneth might have assumed that this guy was talking in his sleep.
Gwyneth protested, “Mr. Luther, are you kidding me? Our three–year marriage contract is now overdue.”
Liam admitted, “I know. Theoretically speaking, this suggestion makes no sense.”
Gwyneth lifted her brows in agreement.
Liam had mixed feelings about this. He felt that he was being punished for failing to appreciate her when she was around. He had treated her like a nobody for three years. He was flustered, unsure of what to do when he wanted to keep her.
He had never felt so terrified, in contrast to his relaxed manner when he explained it to her previously. Even though these feelings were unsettling, one thing was certain, he could not let her go. Despite having to make an illogical decision, he had to make her stay. This
thought made him chuckle at himself.
Liam wondered. “Do you remember why you signed the agreement with me in the first place?”
His sudden question caused Gwyneth to arch her brows and nod subconsciously.
“Back then, I casually mentioned a three–year limit because I needed to solve a critical issue within this timeframe, but Grandpa was against this idea,” Liam recalled.
She felt lost and stuttered in response to this statement. Gwyneth yelled, “You! What do you mean?”
Why has this situation spiraled out of control?”
Liam clarified, “I mean back then he wanted you to become his daughter–in–law and my wife without a deadline.”
Liam said this with a hint of amusement in his eyes. He did not expect Gwyneth to be so anxious.
She shouted, “Liam! Are you trying to use moral blackmail? Grandpa has passed away! How can we verify this?”
Liam knew that he was being despicable by trying to hold onto Gwyneth’s goodwill, but he had to carry out his plan.
Liam pointed out, “What if I’m telling the truth? Aside from matters of affection, you should also think about how your company would
benefit from this. I believe that my company can help you.”
Gwyneth was about to refute him again, but she became silent after hearing this.
In fact, AMC Group had always developed quietly and lacked Luther Corporation’s thorough understanding of the mainstream market. Right now, she needed to control Glen Corporation’s lifeline as well as restructure and revive the company. Additionally, she probably would have died if Sebastian had not reached out to help her back then.
Gwyneth changed her mind when she thought of this..
Liam was very good at reading people due to his extensive experience in the field. He was aware that Gwyneth was analyzing and considering her options. Liam pushed further and proposed, “I think we can sign another contract.”
Gwyneth’s train of thought was interrupted by Liam, and she gave him a puzzled expression.
Liam continued. “We will draft a similar contract with a fixed term if my performance within that term satisfies you.”
Gwyneth raised an eyebrow when she heard this and questioned, “And then?”
Liam revealed, “Then our marriage can continue indefinitely.”
After being briefly startled. Gwyneth lowered her gaze and seemed to hesitate. Eventually, she raised her eyes and questioned, “When you say satisfaction, do you mean that I have to be satisfied with your performance? What if I can’t judge now?”
“Then we can leave it blank for the time being.” Liam said gravely and charmingly. His aura also suddenly rose with it.
Gwyneth chuckled unconsciously. After she took a step back and gave everything a good look, some things became obvious.
Honestly, if she had felt nothing for Liam after being together for such a long time, she would not have consented and would have refused to extend their marriage contract.
