The Sun God Diaries

Chapter Chapter Fifty-One: Ryker’s Endgame, Part One

“You can’t have not expected this, love,” Ryker said, crossing his arms and still smiling as if he had won the lottery as he paced the cozy bedroom. “I’ve been dreaming of the day that you and I would reunite so we can begin our new life together. And even though I can sense that you’re now carrying those bratty boys’ pups, you can count on me to still be a great father. And soon, we can begin the process of trying for more children- I always imagined myself being a dad to three Alpha sons and at least two Omega girls or maybe more. All the same, today will be the start of the rest of our lives.”

Oh, brother!

This fool has officially lost his damn mind, folks! And even after I strictly told him that I was not interested in him in any way, shape, or form. But I guess I kind of saw it coming with being kidnapped, to be honest. I mean, Dad basically went through the same thing as he dealt with that Ryan Zallenda dude.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Ryker asked me.

I took a deep breath. “Where are we?” I asked.

He smiled. “A nice little cottage that’s just on the outskirts of the Colorado/Wyoming state borders,” he replied cheerfully. “And we’re far from civilization, just so you know. We’re in the middle of the woods and I had my best rogue witches to blackmail into keeping this place under wraps. No one would dare try to find us if they even wanted to. And some rogue hunters disobeyed the Code and other rogue species that I coerced into helping me plan out the wedding of my dreams as well as some loners who have skills to make sure that our dreams will come true- they’re all under my rule and soon, we will all leave this dump called the USA and will soon make our way into an uninhabited territory in Denmark. To hell with this democracy bullshit, babe! With you by my side and the conduit to my livelihood, you can bet your bottom dollar that we can have total sway of our own little hamlet.”

Yikes.

“Think about it,” Ryker continued as he began to make his way out of the room. “You just rest. I’ll have some hunters bring you your meals and various snacks- I know how you are when it comes to junk food, and someone will be around to keep you company and have the room cleaned. There are clean clothes in the drawer, but no TV or radio- too many distractions, I’m afraid.”

“When am I-”

“Never you mind, Malachi,” Ryker replied softly, a dreamy look in his eyes. “All you need to do is just rest your mind and let your soul be at ease. Once we leave this place, all you’ll need is me.”

He left the room just as a tall, redheaded female came into the room with a tray of food on hand. “Sorry,” she muttered, placing the serving tray on the nightstand on my left. “Ryker Howell has captured the Moon Wolf Prince AND the future Sun God Wolf King. Goddess help us all.”

Her eyes flashed orange, showing me that she was supernatural.

“I’m sorry for you to be caught up in this unless you’re supporting him,” I replied, uncovering my plate to find roasted chicken, rice, and green beans on my plate.

“I’m sorry, too,” she replied, “sorry for allowing him to threaten my own unborn kids. Kid, how the hell can you be so calm and collected in all of this?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Tootsie roll, when you’re related to the Moon Goddess, one should always expect the unexpected and to just trust in Her plans,” I answered. “I have a feeling, though, that Ryker’s going into the deep end.”

She snorted. “That’s putting it mildly,” she agreed, sitting on the bed. “Anyway, I’m supposed to keep you company and shit, so consider me your Samantha to you being Carrie. Name’s Iris. Iris Wyndham. Beta werefox.”

“Charmed. I don’t suppose that you’re the only one who thinks that this is suicide, are you?”

She smirked. “Kid ALL of us rogues think that your situation is bound to implode in Howell’s face,” she replied. “And we all had run-ins with that Thebes djinn, the messenger of the gods. He said to trust in Her plans and just go with it. And soon, we plan to defect and find new packs and covens.”

I nodded. “Good to know,” I said. “I wonder what my family is thinking right now?”

Third-Person POV

“Outrage!”

“Madness!”

“The absolute nerve!”

Those were some of the words uttered by Malachi’s thirteen mates, his parents and brothers, and even various warriors and hunters as chaos was in full swing at the Palace of the Wolves and the Greater Denver area as well as all across the nation and around the world. Malachi’s Alpha brothers were in various stages of grief (from Mike and Gabe crying their eyes out to Abaddon and Azrael throwing gigantic tantrums and taking their anger out on the damned souls in hell) as his fathers were talking to the best warriors and human police officers from the state as Carson and the ten Alphas’ mates refused to leave the Omega’s bedroom, all of them wanting to keep watch until Malachi returned safe and sound.

Malachi’s mates were VERY ANGRY upon learning that Malachi was kidnapped. They had a feeling that Ryker was set to make his move, but didn’t expect the rogue Alpha to execute his kidnapping. “The moment I find that pipsqueak, I’m going to wring his head off his neck,” Damien roared angrily, his eyes glowing red with anger. “Our Malachi is being trapped with a lovelorn idiot who won’t quit!”

“Lunacy!” Olodom screamed, thunder and lightning flashing outside as a thunderstorm raged outside. “This is lunacy!”

“Ryker had better not placed his lips on our mate,” Galen had hissed. “If I even get one feeling that he had put his tongue down our mate’s throat, I’ll tear him a new asshole!”

“And our kids,” Cyler added mournfully. “That bastard better not try to harm our unborn or even rape him.

That comment alone made all the other mates growl and snarl viciously in the air, the thought of Malachi being raped and sexually abused by Ryker making them more furious.

Clearly, Alphas are possessive.

As for Malachi’s friends? Pauly and Floriana refused to talk to anyone outside of the DuBauer clan while the Omegas were joining the others in Malachi’s bedroom and the young huntresses were talking with their parents and other teen hunters from various dynasties.

“This is a nightmare,” Mia said somberly as she joined Charissa and Floriana in a quiet parlor. “The whole town is in an uproar and Malachi’s family is ready to erupt and take matters into their own hands.”

“You think?!” Charissa commented. “Girl, I admire both Cunningham and Raisha in trying to protect Malachi. How are they, by the way?”

“Sleeping off the tranquilizers,” Floriana replied curtly. “Carson, my brother, made me swear to find our best friend. He’s so brokenhearted that he’s not eating properly. Mom’s talking to other packs in Wyoming, but there’s silence so far.”

“We need to find him,” Mia commented, accepting a cup of tea from a passing butler as the other girls did the same. “We need to create a game plan and-”

“Leave that to us,” purred a female’s voice.

All three females turned around to see an elegantly-dressed young woman with a light-brown complexion and her black hair in a coily hairstyle who looked as tall as Dame Valentina Suarez, yet has a mischievous look in her eyes. Behind her were other young adults also dressed impeccably. “Who are you?” Mia asked.

“Francesca Diovalle, Luna of the Stone Claw werecat pack of Nassau,” she said. “I’m one of the many members of Sigma Chi Gamma- president, to be exact. These are my fellow Lunas- male and female since we are a fra-ority of various Lunas from all over the world. And we’re here to talk to your missing friend’s mates.”

All three teenagers looked at each other. “Miss, I think that they are too emotionally unstable to talk right now,” Mia warned.

“Leave that to us,” Francesca replied. “Now, where are they?”

“In the main conference room at the main part of the palace,” Charissa replied. Second floor. You can’t miss it.”

“Thanks,” replied a male Luna with a Hispanic accent. “Onward, Sigma Chi.”

The group of young Lunas all left with the anticipation to talk things out with Malachi’s thirteen mates. “What the heck was that about?” Floriana asked, confusion lighting her eyes.

“I dunno,” Mia replied. “But I have a feeling that we’ll know soon enough. Think it’ll be wrong to eavesdrop?”

“Nope,” Charissa replied.

“Then let’s eavesdrop,” Floriana replied. “This ought to be good.”
