Chapter Chapter Fifty-Two: Ryker’s Endgame, Part Two
“Sigma Chi Gamma?”
That was the first thing that was uttered when the small group of Lunas- male and female alike- had finished introducing themselves to the still-furious thirteen young Alphas. And the young group of Lunas- seven in all- were ready to talk to the young men about Malachi and their future.
“What is Sigma Chi Gamma, I’d like to know?” Ian asked, his trident by his side as his eyes still glowed sea-green.
The female leader named Francesca smirked. “We’re a well-known organization of Lunas- male and female- that has been around since Malachi’s father Carson- the Moon Wolf King- married his mates,” she replied. “And we’ve been around for a good while, young merman. And since Malachi is slated to marry you, after we get him back in your arms safe and sound of course; we’re making him a new member of our merry band.”
“How many members are there in your little gang?” Yavier asked, crossing his arms.
The male Luna from earlier stepped forward, his lithe and petite frame making him stand out in a sea of Amazon-esque teens and young adults. “Legions,” he replied. “There are more of us than you ever realize, Machado. Name’s Draven Melendez, male Luna of the Sapphire Cove siren coven from Miami, by the way.”
A plump brunette female joined him. “I’m Serena Valzuz, Luna of the Falcon Crest were-hawk pack of Kyiv,” she said in a Ukrainian accent. “Comrades, the time has come for us to make ourselves known. “And since your mate is still in captivity by the shameless Ryker Howell, the importance of his return is direr. You gentlemen have a future deity that cannot be contained or be hidden in the shadows. What I want to know, personally, is your intentions for him, after all, is said and done.”
The thirteen young men looked at each other before Aivox stepped forward. “Miss Valzuz,” he began, “my friends and I all know that Malachi is destined for greater things in life. He has been through a lot with personal insecurities, spiteful naysayers, and even his life-changing in the past few months. Many have discredited him, but he has always risen from the ashes.”
“We plan to make sure that the light in his eyes never fades,” Galen added. “He will be loved by all of us and treated like he is the priceless treasure of all. Many Omegas and various nymphs, before we met him, have indeed caught our attention, but none can ever truly replace what She has destined for us. Malachi is one in a million and he has captured our hearts.”
“Well said,” commented a chocolate-skinned man (a fey from a community in central Sudan). “Gentlemen, you know that Malachi can be very vindictive when something displeases him. And as he is set to join us, you know that we can be very ruthless when it comes to unfaithful Alphas. We can ruin one with one snap of our fingers- credibility tarnished, reputation torn into pieces, finances diminished. And if you dare try to harm or ruin him...you won’t like how we plan to make you pay.”
The Alphas gulped.
The small group of Lunas smirked.
“With that said, gentlemen,” commented Francesca, “it’s time for us to figure out strategies. And expect to see more Lunas from our club arrive in the days to come as we will join the Joneslake clan in planning the wedding and coronation. And you can expect us to have you all as our slaves alongside our husbands. They may rule their packs back at our respective homes, but we always have the final say when it comes to what we want for parties and weddings.”
Outside, the three female teens looked at each other with shock in their eyes. “Damn,” Floriana mouthed. “My brother is going to fit in with this group right here as will Travis, Sapphire, and Malachi.”
“I’ll say,” Mia murmured. “Come on, let’s beat feet.

Malachi’s POV
Three days later...
In the days that followed being kidnapped, I had adapted to being in Ryker’s circle of disgruntled troops that all but wanted to defect and have the smitten dolt killed. Every morning, I made sure to eat what was served and was kept company with Serena (she was carrying two girls out of wedlock before being kicked out and rejected after being accused of prostitution). And I was also gifted with bouquets and small trinkets of love from Ryker.
I also received visits from other rogues set to prepare the wedding celebrations, ranging from a sullen seamstress (a brokenhearted vampire who was accused of killing her parents and rejected by three Alphas- assholes) who was working on my tuxedo) and the baker who was planning the wedding cake (he was a dragon-shifter pawned off by a spiteful father to be used for experiments and drug trafficking) to two hunters who were guarding the doors (both of them exiled for killing three young children which was an accident according to them). And all of them shared one thing in common: their hatred for Ryker and wanting to defect.
I promised them and everyone else that wanted to defect that I would convince the Council of the Supernatural to allow clemency and relocation to new packs.
“You look so beautiful, love.”
I looked up from a magazine that Serena gifted me to see Ryker (now dressed in jeans and fresh from a run) standing over me with my lunch. “Thank you,” I commented, stomaching the thought to kill him right then and there. “You’re not too bad yourself.”
Ryker preened. “I do my best,” he replied, placing the covered food on the nightstand. “Before you eat, I do have something to ask you. And I want you to think carefully about the answer because I hate to do anything drastic to your unborn children.”
He pulled out a small ring box before dropping down to one knee. “Will you marry me, Malachi?”
Oh, shit. If I said no, then he’d go on a rampage before beating me senseless and even kill my children in my womb. But I didn’t want to think about what would happen if I said yes.
What would Dad do?
Give Ryker what he wants, make him think that I was his one and only. “Yes,” I replied. “Yes, I will.”
“Are you sure?” he asked me, giving me a look as if I was uncertain. “You’d have to be mine for life- and only mine since I don’t like to share. I ALWAYS come first.”
I took a deep breath, the assurance of the Moon Goddess filling my heart. “Yes, I am.”
Ryker whooped, getting up and kissing me on my lips. “Thank you,” he cheered. “It won’t be long, my love. By the day after tomorrow, you and I will be honeymooning in our new home in Denmark. I can’t wait to claim you over and over again.”
Trust in My plan, my child, I heard the Moon Goddess in my head. Make him think that he is yours and you are exclusively his. His “supporters” will revolt and he will die.
“I’m so happy,” Ryker said softly in my ear. “I promise that you’ll want no one else after we’re married. You got me and I got you. Just two more days. Two more days.”
Oh. Crap.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Thebes nod in approval of my faked acceptance of the proposal. “Trust in Her plan” he mouthed. “His end will come.” He silently faded away.
“I’m happy for us, too,” I told him. “In two days, it’s going to be memorable.”
I was sure of it.
