Chapter Rely thy heart to seeking inner soul
We, me included, was waiting patiently, waiting would happen next. Peeking through the openings of the trees while the steadily lean back and forth; side to side doing a little dance. Was the last bit of sunlight before it finally disappears beyond more of the trees and below the horizon.
From what I saw before returning in the crowded line, was; Gideon walking toward the black wolf alone, when he was only a few feet between the two. Gideon knelt to one knee, and the wolf bowed his head downward. Then with second goes by, and he (Gideon) got back up standing on both of his feet. Followed by the wolf raising his head, then stood on all four paws, turned around, facing his pack, then made a short, “woof, woof, howl”.
Where one by one all the wolves turned around and faced a wall of thick green twisted vines that just lie behind the boulders, so many twists like a big green yarn ball. Then the black wolf leap back on top of the boulders with his very sharp claws out, he swiped downward, striking against the top of the rock, striking it three times, to a point of small sparks flying.
It didn’t take long for us to hear rumbles of thunder, where the ground started to tremble underneath our feet from where we stood, followed by what sounded like loud groans coming from the dense vines, we all watched in astonishment of what was going on in front of us.
Where there was a slight breeze before turned into a more of a wicked fan of cool air, holding our ground we (me and those I was sent to stand by) start to notice that the thick vines suddenly appear to move and bend in opposite directions, clearing the way a small hidden path.
That was somehow very well hidden from us, which at that time the black wolf look down toward his left side at his pack and gave a short jolt of a signal to move forward, in turn they did so, once it got to the last wolf in line, he (the black wolf) tilted his head, looking back toward Gideon as if to say, “you coming” then he look forward and jumped down off of the boulder, as he joined up with the pack of other wolves that was only a few feet in front of him. Raising his right arm, Gideon; then swung it in a circle motion saying, “alright let’s go”, which we did fallowing behind the wolves although they were more a few feet, as we kept our distance to where we could still see their tails. As there even was a slight whisper being heard all around us, suddenly I heard my name ‘Sara’ being said as clear as you would be standing next to me, thinking that someone did in fact say my name I began to look at everyone directly.
But by doing so those who I looked at sternly responded back with “what are you looking at”. Which I shortly replied, “you didn’t say my name”, “cha no why would I” they answered back.
Puzzled I was although where we were going baffled me even more, as the whispering voice became more and more absent.
Where fallowed by a question, “now it makes sense with the wolves, this is where, they say the wolf witch dwells”, “oh bilge water Philip, where do you hear such tales”. At that time, all five of us stopped briefly, which annoyed the few men to where they began to shove us harder, and harder.
Bring my attention back to where were, noticing that we were now entering another forest of tall trees, but this time came across the trees had small huts, with rope bridges connecting to each other, as there were even small huts along the path, there was a town within the deepest part of the forest.
To where those who were in the huts slowly made their way out, which added to the growing commotion of ‘who are they’ an ‘why have they come’.
It wasn’t long before our presents were known to the other men who stayed behind that something was going on, that they too fallowed behind us. Coming, and continuing through a small market as for those stopped what they were doing.
It quite a busy little market, as there were even children running around playing games and such. That all stopped, once they saw the parade of guards and unknown group of possible captives.
Continuing, walking the through the small town noticing that we were being looked at, as I even notice a few of them were other guards who weren’t with us who walked up to those who surrounded us and asked what was going on, and who we were, there was no answers as they were gently pushed aside.
For those who asked the questions until they saw me then it became slightly clearer to them then leaning toward next to one another when I walked by them I soon read their lips as my name spread amongst the crowd.
Which at that time I paid less attention to it which I should’ve but didn’t? As I walked slowly further back but still within bearer of guards who kept us grouped up like cattle.
Then like the chimes of a clock, there was a change of the guard when suddenly, the two of the guards that were walking only a foot behind me, traded positions with two other guards and took a quick break as one of the new guards teaming up with the first two guards, placing a hand on my left shoulder while pulling on my right arm. Leading me away from the group then without me questioning what they were doing, and why they were separating me from the group, pulling me closer to a single small house that was built in a giant hollowed out tree, that it even appeared to be abandoned, I asked them in a stern enough voice “where are you taking me?”. “Keep moving” they responded back more imitating followed by, “no, talking” as one them shoved me across my back with a hard stick or something like it.
Stumbling forward from the force brought against my shoulders, that’s when I noticed by a small roar of a crowd growing slightly, with every step I took, and shove. It wasn’t until we went around the side of the house, there was some of the guards leaning against the fence posts, as for the others sat on the top of posts that lay in-between the ones that stand up from the ground.
Most of them in civilian clothing. Entering the fenced in yard not on my own power but in any case, kicking up rocks and small clumps of dirt when I turned around shuffling my feet while I looked at the growing crowed.
Till suddenly, when someone walked in the same fenced yard, with a steady beat he began to clap his hands, as the crowed started to slowly quiet down to a whispering hum of a hummingbird’s flight can be heard ever so slightly.
That, the one who sort of gave applause towards me, started to say, “look what we have here with us today, of all days, ladies and gentlemen” as I shortly but slightly turned, now gazing at the one who in a way was being a ringleader, once he was close enough to, without any hesitation at all, he reached out with his right hand and grabbed onto mine.
Raising my arm in a champion like way, as if to say that I should be honored of something?
This crowd’s ringleader was certainly dressed for the part, wearing what appeared to be highly fashioned garments, with a few ribbons and metals boarded on his shoulders.
Although the tone in his voice gave off a firm but friendly accent. Therefore, asking him, a simple question “who are you”.
