The Rogue Alpha

Chapter Surprising Discoveries

The next morning, shortly after breakfast, while I was sitting on the couch reading the Hunter book, my Bro arrived. His excitement filled the air.

I leaped up and rushed over, grabbing him in a hug. "Please tell me you were successful and that's why you're so excited."

He pulled a nearly identical book to the one Eugene gave me out of his backpack and handed it to me. "Alpha Mike and Luna Melinda were apparently waiting for me to come back and ask about it."

I shrieked and ran back to the couch with my new book. I opened it and read through the first few pages before I exclaimed, "This is rather interesting."

"What is?" My Bro and Cousin Richard asked simultaneously.

"Both groups claim to be created about the same time, but didn't start cataloging the war with the others until a much later date, also the same day, when they claim to have been instructed to do so by their respective creator." I laughed. "This can't be a coincidence."

"It sure is strange." Cousin Richard replied.

I read a little further before switching books. Then I held them up. "Both sides had a vision of their future Luna on the same night, each having four who experienced the vision."

My Bro declared, "There's no way this is a coincidence."

"I agree completely." I stated, "We need to get everyone here, and show them this. Compare the books in detail."

"That might take some time." Richard pointed out.

I grinned, closed my eyes, and reached out through my mind. I made the link with everyone who was in the cabin the night before and then I sent out a message, "We have the second book, and we need to get together to discuss them."

I opened my eyes to see the shock in the faces of the men standing before me.

My Bro shook his head. "We're not a true pack yet, how could you do that?"

"I'm not even a werewolf." Cousin Richard added in disbelief.

"I included you two, so you would know what I can do." I informed them, "I've been feeling the connections being made, and figured out when I was talking with Eugene that it was theoretically possible."

Richard smiled with admiration. "I can't wait to find out what else you can do."

I laughed.

"I'm sure it will all be amazing." My Bro replied.

I blushed. "Whatever I can do is because God gave me the ability to do it, and I'm certain it will be used for his benefit."

"Does she ever quit being modest?" Cousin Richard asked.

"Not since I've known her." My Bro replied, "But that's what makes me so certain she's right for the job."

I rolled my eyes. "Any chance we have a white board and markers around here?"

Richard nodded his head. "In the basement. I'll get them."

"I'll help." My Bro offered.

They took off down the stairs and I decided to get started on making snacks for our meeting.

Soon the board was set up, and I had a few snacks already done. I was working on cutting up chicken wings when Alpha Nolan and the Omegas came barging in. I jumped a little at the sudden noise, and cut my thumb in the process.

"Frick an A." I screamed as I threw the knife in the sink and grabbed my injured thumb in my right hand.

Anna ran to me. "Let me help."

I stepped back. "I'll heal in a moment." I reminded her.

She nodded. "At least let me clean up for you."

"If it'll make you happy." I conceded.

Anna nodded her head, and truly seemed happy as she turned around and grabbed a rag. Her hand touched the counter, where some of my blood was, and she instantly cried out in pain, clutching her hand.

Aaron was at Anna's side in a heartbeat. He grabbed the hand she was clutching and looked at it. "It looks like a silver burn."

"I didn't touch any silver!" She exclaimed, her pain evident in her voice.

I wanted to do something to help her. So, I reached out to ask Aaron to move, touching him with my blood covered hand on his arm. He instantly screamed in pain.

I jumped back as the same burns appeared on his arm.

My Bro and Alpha Nolan ran in. I backed away from both of them. Wolves can't touch me right now, something about my blood is hurting werewolves."

Alpha Nolan grabbed Aaron and brought him to the living room, while my Bro grabbed Anna and did the same, putting them on the couch next to each other.

I quickly washed my hands and then joined them. I showed them my hands were clean and then placed one on each of them. I closed my eyes, and moments later the burns were disappearing, their pain erasing."

I opened my eyes to see Cousin Richard leaving the kitchen with a small piece of plastic. I recognized it as a slide like we used in science class. I followed him to his room.

Once in there he put the slide on his microscope. After a few minutes of staring into it he exclaimed, "If I wasn't looking at it, I wouldn't believe it."

"Believe what?" I asked with apprehension.

The others stood behind me in silent agreement.

Cousin Richard informed us, "You have silver in your blood."

I sat down on his bed, trying to wrap my head around this information.

Alpha Nolan took a look at my blood and stated, "Well, this explains how you're immune to silver."

Everyone else took their turn looking at what shouldn't be possible. I couldn't bring myself to look, even though I knew he was right. Seeing it was just too much for me at that moment.

Finally I cleared my head and asked, "Are we going to compare the books, or sit around staring at my blood all day?"

"Let's look at the books." My Bro declared as he walked out of Cousin Richard's room.

The others followed. Cousin Richard volunteered, "I'll clean up the blood, since the silver can't hurt me."

I thanked him and went to the living room, where I picked up the books and waited for Cousin Richard to join us.

I then handed the Hunter book to Eugene and the Werewolf book to Alpha Nolan. I handed my Bro the markers, and we got to work.

When we were done we had discovered that every time one side received a vision or something major happened a very similar event happened to the other side as well.

"It's like we were placed in a war neither side could win." Richard observed.

"While you both waited for a leader to bring you to victory against the other side." I stated, "Ironically waiting on the same person."

"Something really big has been in play for thousands of years." Anna said in awe.

My Bro declared, "Even with both books it feels like large chunks of the story are missing, specifically at the beginning."

"I doubt the missing parts exist anywhere." I bemoaned.

"If we're meant to know what isn't shown God will find a way to tell us." Alpha Nolan assured me.

I nodded my head. "It's been a long day already. I'm going to take a nap, everyone feel free to enjoy the snacks."

With that I slipped off to my room. I wasn't sure if I would actually sleep or not, but it felt good to be by myself for a moment.
