Chapter Vengeance
My door burst open. Everyone filled in, with Alpha Nolan in the lead.
"Stay back!" I yelled.
Alpha Nolan took one look at what was happening, leaped over me, and landed on the bed behind me. Then he wrapped his arms around me and whispered, "It's ok, everything is fine. Just relax and let the pain go."
It wasn't a conscious action, but I did manage to tune into the calming vibes he was giving me and soon my hands returned to normal.
Anna stared at the pool on the ground. "That looks like pure silver."
"There's a lot of creatures that wouldn't want to be near that." Eugene pointed out, "Werewolves are just the most common that Hunters deal with."
"Yay, I have the ability to be deadly to multiple creatures." I replied sarcastically.
Cousin Richard shrugged his shoulders. "At least most of them are some form of demon."
I groaned. "Can we go through the list of things that exist that we might encounter later?" I looked at the mess around me. "I'm having a bit of trouble dealing with these abilities." My stomach grumbled. "And suddenly I feel like I'm starving."
"I'm not surprised, I bet it takes a lot of energy to produce that much silver." Aaron exclaimed.
My Bro said, "Anna and Aaron, would you be so kind as to cook up some food for our Luna, while Eugene and Richard clean up the silver, and Alpha Nolan and I can help her get situated in another room."
Everyone nodded their heads and got straight to work. I was moved to another room, but I wasn't paying attention to anything. All I could think about was the dream, or rather nightmare, that caused me to wake up screaming. I moved like I was in a trance, and kept physical contact with Alpha Nolan to keep from making another mess.
When they got me into the bed they went to leave, but I grabbed my Alpha by his arm and whispered, "Don't leave, not even for a moment, not yet."
He nodded his head and climbed in beside me, holding me to his chest as I used him to keep calm. My Bro went to get my things, but I just closed my eyes and did my best to stay calm.
After a while I smelled burgers, bacon and fries. The aroma had me leaping from the bed, pulling Alpha Nolan with me, causing him to stumble on the way.
I ran up to the pile of bacon, using the hand not holding Alpha Nolan to shovel it in my mouth. Moments later there wasn't any left, and I still felt empty.
My Bro pulled me to the table, and told me to sit. Then he pulled leftover ham out of the fridge and brought it to me. I barely registered the fork in my hand as I devoured everything but the bone. By then my dinner was done and I had two double bacon cheeseburgers and a small mountain of fries.
When I finally quit eating Cousin Richard approached and asked, "Are you able to come to the living room and tell us what happened?"
I nodded my head.
Alpha Nolan sat in the chair again, and I sat on his lap as everyone else chose their places to sit.
"All of this was caused by a nightmare." I admitted sheepishly.
"Nightmares have a way of shaking us to our core." Eugene stated.
I nodded my head. I then took a deep breath and explained, "Luna Eleanor was hurting anyone who was nice to me. It started with people who obeyed me over her. The first person in the dream was the tailor. She made me a skort outfit for the coronation, to compromise my dislike of dresses and skirts. Eleanor found out, and destroyed her shop, after making her an Omega. Then the Lunas who didn't follow her after our first meeting."
I paused, looking around the room, and hating how vulnerable I felt.
"I don't remember all the details, but I was helpless to stop her." I hung my head.
Nolan held me tightly. "You're not helpless. You will find an appropriate punishment for her."
I stood up. "What if it wasn't a nightmare, what if it was a premonition? Not of things that have to be, but of things planned to be, on her part?"
"Like you saw into her heart?" My Bro contemplated, "It wouldn't be that far from the abilities you've seen with being able to see true mates."
"The catalyst in the vision was an outfit. So, if it happened because she indeed has just found out..." Richard pointed out.
I screamed, "We have to get to Wolf Wear!"
I ran out of the cabin with my Bro and Alpha Nolan on my heels. We got in the car and raced into town. If the barrier caused me pain, I never noticed.
We arrived to a quiet scene. My Bro parked the car and I was out of it and racing into the tailor shop.
Jasmine was behind the counter. She beamed when she saw me. "Luna DoJo, I was just about to call you. I finished your coronation outfit. I wanted to get your opinion."
She pulled a box off the shelf and opened it as she placed it on the counter. I looked, and saw the same shiny black skort, and emerald green blouse from my nightmare.
I looked at her with tears welling up in my eyes. "It's beautiful, and so kind, but do you know what she's going to do to you for this?"
"What, banish me?" Jasmine replied, "She can't stop me from joining another pack then."
I shook my head as Luna Eleanor's voice pierced the air. "Jasmine of the Huntsville pack, present yourself to your Luna!"
I grabbed the outfit out of the box and gave it to my Beta Bro. "Don't let anything happen to this if you can help it."
Then I stormed out of Wolf Wear and into the street to confront the so called Luna.
"Well if it isn't the cause of the disrespect problem that has suddenly appeared in my territory." Luna Eleanor sneered at me.
I didn't waste time, I sped around her, grabbing her from behind, left hand around her neck while my right arm went across her rib cage, pinning her to me. "I do believe I gave you a warning, not that long ago." I stated loudly, drawing the attention of everyone around.
"You have no authority over me!" She asserted, but wasn't foolish enough to move.
"Can you repeat the warning I gave you, or should I restrict your oxygen?"
Luna Eleanor glared into the distance defiantly.
I increased the pressure on her neck, ever so slightly.
Luna Eleanor gasped. "You told me that if I punished anyone for your choices, you would make me regret the day I was made." She scoffed, "As if you could."
I grinned as I exclaimed, "Even now you doubt me."
"Kill me if you must. The council will deal with you." Eleanor replied with certainty.
"When you're dead you don't regret." I reminded her, "So, you're not becoming a martyr that easily."
"What else can someone with no power do?" Eleanor inquired with attitude.
I laughed. "You want to see power?"
Without waiting for an answer I took my left hand off her neck, stretched my arm out so she could see my hand. I turned my nails into claws before her eyes, and everyone else's. A collective silence fell.
"Ever notice how even my claws are silver?" I asked rhetorically.
Her eyes were pinned to my claws as I let a single shiny drop emerge from my pointer finger. "Wanna take a guess what that is?"
She shook her head violently.
"Raise your hand." I instructed her.
Eleanor resisted. I moved my finger toward her eye, with the drop of silver looking like a little ball at the end.
She quickly raised her hand.
"Now, correct me if I'm wrong." I told her, "But were you about to punish your tailor for accommodating my clothing tastes?"
Eleanor screamed, "I'm her Luna and she has to obey me on what is allowed to be made, or sold! She chose to defy me!"
"Actually she did her best to find a compromise between obeying your dress code and my tastes, and you should be congratulating her, instead of coming to strip her of rank and destroy her shop."
"How did you know?" She gasped.
I let the drop fall on her hand as I told her, "This is for attempting to punish for my choices."
The moment it hit her skin she screamed and bucked wildly as the crowd erupted in a wide variety of noise. Cheers, shrieks, and yelling intermingled into one mass noise I ignored as I held tightly to the rabid animal in my arms.
Finally I picked her up and slammed her to the ground, temporarily paralyzing her. The crowd let out a collective gasp, and then fell silent as I stared down at her.
"Now, there's a little issue with your treatment of two Omegas you banished for obeying me." I stated in a deep growl.
Eleanor replied, "I'm sorry."
"Oh, you only think you are." I informed her. "My warning had a very specific outcome attached to it, and if I don't implement that outcome you will continue to attack innocent people."
"I won't." She claimed.
I laughed. "I've seen it. And even if I hadn't, you've already proven to be a coward, who attacks the weak when you can't handle the strong."
"I Luna DoJo, do hear by condemn you to hating your existence, for your crimes against those you are to protect."
"You didn't even use your proper name, and you expect it to work." She said with a laugh.
I didn't reply. I put the nail to her neck, and punctured her artery, before adding a single drop of silver to her blood stream.
She screamed in agony. I waited a moment before pulling my nail out and then I healed the puncture for her, ensuring the silver wouldn't bleed back out.
Her body had healed enough that she could thrash about slightly, but her voice showed all the pain her body couldn't. As she felt the excruciating pain burn through her system.
I stood up. Several council members approached me.
"Would you like to challenge me?" I asked bluntly.
A man shook his head. He had to yell to be heard over Eleanor. "Can we remove her from the street?"
I shrugged. "Doesn't matter to me where she endures her punishment. But be warned if you end her punishment you will take her place!" I yelled back.
He nodded his head.
"Spread the word!" I added.
He nodded his head again.
I turned to Alpha Nolan and my Beta Bro and signaled to them that it was time to go. We walked to the car and left.
