The Rogue Alpha

Chapter Minor Altercations

As the new crowd made their way to the front Alpha Nolan and I let go of each other's hands and separated to be able to assess and deal with anything that might arise from our actions. We couldn't let anyone pay for our choices.

Retired Alpha Rodger recovered from his shock and found his voice, "Welcome all contestants. We ask you to approach the stage and tell us what rank you will be competing for a mate in."

I stayed near those I had invited as they got into a line and went to announce their choices. The third girl was a human, and she stated, "I am Natalie, I'm here for a Beta mate."

The man looked her over. "You might match well with a gamma, I'll put you in that competition."

"You will not!" Her and I yelled at the same time.

I added, "She was told to tell you what competition she's entering, not get assigned to one by you."

The man sighed. "I'm just trying to save her heartache and trouble. I doubt she's up to any Beta's standards."

I growled at him, letting my eyes turn silver. Then I turned to the Wolves as I grabbed Natalie's hand. "Attention Betas, would any of you find this woman to be an acceptable mate?"

Her mate stepped forward, with his hand raised. "I would gladly take her as my mate!" He yelled with a grin.

The man groaned. "Any others?"

I turned back to him, my hair turning silver. "I'm the only Luna that Traverse and Hunter the Hunter are here to compete for, therefore she only needs one to accept her."

He looked to council member Rodger, who shrugged his shoulders and gave a single nod of his head.

Before I could rejoice in my minor victory I felt a slash of pain across my back. I knew instantly that it was actually Alpha Nolan's pain I was feeling, and a moment later I knew the cause of the pain. I stormed towards him quickly.

Sure enough I found him on his knees on the ground, standing nearby was Lunas Therese and Vicki. Luna Therese had a malicious smirk on her lips, while she kept telling Luna Vicki, "It's your turn, he has to be weakened for the plan to work."

"I'm not sure it's right to follow through with Luna Eleanor's plan." Luna Vicki replied quietly.

"Oh, it's definitely not a good idea." I informed her, "It will only get you the same punishment as them."

Both Lunas turned towards me. Luna Vicki whispered, "Sorry." Before slipping away as quickly and quietly as possible.

I could see and feel Alpha Nolan getting better by the moment, probably because being rejected when you already have a mate is rather pointless, but that didn't matter. What mattered is that she went directly against my warning, and like her aunt she was going to receive what I promised her.

"Which form would you like to face me in?" I asked her coldly. Scoffing inside my head at the idea that it matters.

She didn't reply, she simply changed into her wolf. It had pretty golden fur, and blue eyes. It's a shame that her beautiful fur won't be recognizable, I thought to myself.

I could have changed forms before she finished changing, but I wanted her to think she had an advantage for the moment.

She leaped at me, trying for my throat. I grabbed hers, and flipped her, launching her over my shoulder and onto the stage. She landed a few feet from the council member Rodger, at the center of the stage.

Since no one by the stage had been paying attention to us, her sudden arrival came as a complete shock to everyone, and they quickly backed away from the wolf who was shaking its head as I landed on my feet next to it.

I stared down at her. "I believe I promised you I would start with your vocal chords." I reminded her in a chilling, nearly sadistic, voice.

She charged me. I allowed her to tackle me, but changed into my wolf as we landed. My wolf being considerably bigger than hers, and her footing slipping from the change in forms under her, her neck practically fell into my wolf mouth. She yanked back quickly, but not quick enough.

I was able to puncture her throat, her movements caused additional ripping, but I released her before I actually ripped her throat out. She fell backwards. Landing on her butt as she turned back to her human form, trying to scream for someone to stop me.

Luna Therese, as much as she tried couldn't get more than a horse whisper to leave her throat.

"What a shame." I exclaimed, "They can't hear you." I laughed and added, "Not that it would matter. I warned you that no one would be able to stop me if you rejected the Rogue Alpha."

Luna Therese looked around frantically.

"Should I prove it to you?" I asked in a teasing voice.

She locked eyes with council member Rodger. I looked at him and stated, "Luna Therese would like you to come to her aid."

He shook his head violently.

I turned to the crowd. Every eye was on us. "Luna Therese would like anyone to rescue her, mind you that if you do, you will be joining her in her punishment. Any volunteers?"

The crowd was filled with numerous noises, but not one being volunteered to help her.

I turned back to her and explained loudly, "There's only one who could convince me to go easy on you, and unfortunately for you: it's your actions against him that have you in this place."

"I had to." She screeched out, her throat already healing.

I shook my head. "You chose to follow your aunt, even after her own actions caused her death at my hands."

"The others would..."

I laughed, cutting her off. "It doesn't matter what the others might have done to you. They will each have their own moment to be dealt with. What matters is you ignored my warning, in favor of trying to thwart me and my mate."

"Potential." She stated, trying to correct me.

I laughed again.

Then I became a silver blur as I slashed her right hand off her wrist.

She screamed out, hitting her knees and grabbing feebly at it with her other hand, blood pumping out, through her fingers.

I turned into my wolf and let it take over. Within a few minutes her body was torn apart, the stage was red with blood and not a single person dared move.

I returned to my human form and looked at the crowd. "Now that makes two lessons I've had to give on what happens when you ignore my warning. I really hope it's a long time before I have to make a third demonstration." I took a deep breath and added, "Now, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

"You claim that the Rogue is your mate." Derik's voice rang out, "I call to invalidate that claim, and assert my right to claim you."

"I already rejected you." I growled out.

Derik removed his shirt and turned around in circles as he asked, "Then where's my mark of rejection?"

It was gone. I couldn't understand why.

"Someone has been doing their mating acceptance, releasing, and even rejection wrong." He informed me.

I looked at him without hiding my confusion.

"Your name isn't DoJo." Derik explained, "Therefore anything done under that name is invalid."

"No one is stealing my mate!" Alpha Nolan yelled, "Least of all you!"

I could feel the pain and tenderness in his back. This was their plan I realized. Weaken the Rogue Alpha immediately before a fight with another Alpha by blood.

"Are you trying to challenge me for my claimed mate?" Derik asked as if it was the silliest thing.

Alpha Nolan snarled, "You have challenged me for the mate God gave me, and you will regret it!"

In movies the bad guys get to beat on the good guys, until there's almost no hope, and then something inspires them, and they get a sudden boost that drives them to return all they've been given and more. Ultimately winning, but not without a painful price.

This wasn't the movies. This was real life. Alpha Nolan leaped and did a half turn to wolf as he slashed and punched wildly all over Derik's body.

Suddenly a growl emitted from on the stage. Rodger turned into a black wolf with green eyes, and leaped off towards the Rogue Alpha and Derik.

I telepathically yelled, "Watch out!" To Alpha Nolan.

He turned, leaping off of Derik, sending him flying to the ground. In mid air he changed to his bear and when they're bodies collided the wolf was no match for the massive bear. Roger's neck, or maybe his back, snapped in the impact. Didn't matter, the Rogue Alpha's anger had been unleashed, and it took him less time to tear Roger apart than it had taken me to tear Therese apart.

He turned his attention back to Derik, and started stalking towards the slowly crawling body. Suddenly I was inspired. I leaped from the stage and ran between them.

"He needs to pay!" My Alpha stated in my mind.

"He will." I promised, "But they need to learn there are other punishments than death, and they can be worse."

Alpha Nolan returned to his human form and asked me out loud, "Would you like to finish his punishment?"

"I would, my Alpha." I replied.

He motioned for me to go ahead. I walked up to Derik and exclaimed, "I, Dollie Jo, also known as the Silver Luna, the Luna Hunter, and other names, do hereby declare you, formerly known as Alpha, Derik to be unmatable for ever!"

A whip cracking sound far worse than the first time emitted as an X of deep wounds appeared on his back.

I continued to explain, "Not only will no Luna ever touch you, no wolf of any rank will, not even the lowest Omega. No rogue will stand you. Hunters will pity you and refuse to kill you, but they will not mate with you. Even humans will sense you are a plague and refuse you the pleasure you will crave."

Several gasps from those in the crowd were followed by hands clapping. Even those who only knew today's events understood that he deserved this curse.
