The Rogue Alpha

Chapter Game Time!

The next couple of days passed quickly, and as the Angel had indicated Wolves and Hunters were denouncing their former packs and units and pledging themselves to our posse everywhere anyone went, and often at the cabin. Many Rogues joined us as well, from both sides. Made me wonder why no one ever talks about a Rogue Hunter.

Before I knew it was time for the mating games to start. A male council member was standing on the stage. He announced, "There have been extenuating circumstances in this year's mating game, for the first time in over a decade someone has been rejected, and for the first time in over a century a Rogue has been invited." He paused for crowd noise. "Then for the first time ever one of our Lunas is not only a Werewolf but also a Hunter. However she hasn't considered taking a Hunter mate. Luna Eleanor, in one of her last acts before her violent death, sought to make things right by opening the mating game to all available mating options. May anyone who wishes to join the competition to prove your worthiness to your potential mate, and isn't already in the mating game, step forward."

He looked into the surrounding woods expectantly.

I awoke with a start. The sun was just up and I looked around trying to get my bearings. Alpha Nolan grabbed me and pulled me down into a hug. "What's wrong?" He asked soothingly.

" Nothing," I replied. "I know what Eleanor and Leona planned, and I know how to make them regret it."

Alpha Nolan smiled. "We only have three more days until the games start."

"Better not waste them." I stated as I climbed out of our bed, "There's a reason I got the vision now, and it's going to take some work, especially if we're going to keep it secret between now and then."

"I'll make a big breakfast while you get the others." My Alpha offered.

I grinned. "I like that my man likes cooking."

"I'm glad you like it." He replied before giving me a kiss as we were about to walk out.

While we ate I recalled my vision to everyone else. Then I explained, "They must be planning the Hunters who expressed interest in me, but their wording will make it so anyone can join. My plan is simple. I need to meet as many people as I can and show them who their true mate is. Anyone who isn't already in the games can wait in the woods for the invitation to join."

My Bro laughed. "They'll be expecting a couple, and will get Lord only knows how many."

Richard stated, "No one outside the cabin can know the reason for you handing out this information."

I shrugged my shoulders. "I was already giving relationship advice, it won't seem odd to anyone."

"Still, we need to figure out what to tell potential mates for why they are going to be standing in the woods, waiting to be invited to the games." Grace stated with a yawn.

Alpha Jace asked, "Can't we go with a mostly truth?"

"Like?" Cousin Richard asked.

Jace replied, "Explain that they can't enter without an invitation, but instead of admitting to the vision claim we're going to ask for permission."

"That might just work." Grace exclaimed.

I thought it over.

Alpha Nolan announced, "I think it's our best option."

I nodded my head. "Best to lie as little as possible."

The next few days was extremely busy and exhausting. I met with everyone I could, found the image of their true mate, and put it in their head, along with igniting an urge to find them, that would increase as they got closer. I don't know how I even knew I could do that, it was purely instinct with the first one.

Every Wolf that was part of the game was told what to tell their mate if they weren't. Everyone who wasn't in the game because of being either a Rogue, Hunter, or Human was told what to do. The importance of not saying anything to anyone else was expressed to everyone.

Any wolf who could be part of the game, but had chosen not to was encouraged to join. Last minute joinings wasn't unheard of, but there was a slightly higher than normal number according to Sammy Sam's calculations from previous years and the number I told to join.

Before I knew it was time for the mating games to start. A male council member was standing on the stage. When he took the stage he introduced himself as Council Member Rodger, retired Alpha of Blue Moon pack. The sun got in his eyes, he held up a folder to shade his face. My eyes widen as I recognized the man from the first vision. The man in the shadows that Luna Eleanor reported to.

Rodger announced, "There have been extenuating circumstances in this year's mating game, for the first time in over a decade someone has been rejected, and for the first time in over a century a Rogue has been invited." He paused for crowd noise.

Rodger looked into the surrounding woods expectantly.

I sent a vibe to everyone waiting because of me to hold back for a moment.

Alpha Nolan stood at my side, holding my hand, giving me strength.

Traverse and Hunter walked out from by the pavilion, both with pleased grins on their faces. Then Eugene walked out, clearly not happy to be there. A female Werewolf suddenly got ancy, and I suddenly remembered seeing his face when I met with the woman.

Needing to calm her and let him in on things I opened the mental connection I rarely used with both of them. "Donna, this is your mate Eugene, Eugene, surprise I found your mate. Now, both of you need to stay calm and let them think they have control for a minute."

Both gave a mental nod of their heads. I couldn't see Donna, but I watched Eugene show no response except a slight sneer appeared on his lips. I hoped that Rodger took it as against me.

Eugene was trying to hold back images of why he hadn't been around since the Angel left us in the cabin, and we parted ways. He failed. I had a sudden burst of anger, and then a calming shield against it, stemming from the hand holding mine.

I looked at Nolan, his eyes filled with the curious question he wouldn't ask. I answered anyway and shared what Eugene had been through for us. His anger flared as well. Then he felt the calming shield from me. "Amazing. " Nolan exclaimed telepathically.

Eugene was about halfway to the stage when I stopped my hold back vibe, and the over two hundred true mates I had brought emerged as well.

Council Member Rodger looked astonished to say the least. His jaw hung open as his eyes kept sweeping back and forth over the incoming wave he had invited.

Everyone else turned around. Those who knew they had someone waiting clapped, soon joined by others, when their shock wore off.

Only a handful or two of Werewolves looked angry.

I couldn't keep from smiling and clapping with the others.
