Chapter Invited Guests
Alpha Nolan was at my side immediately. "What's wrong?"
I searched the vibrations for an explanation. "They're here, and weren't ready for the pain. I guess I got to share some of it."
I turned and headed for the door. Alpha Nolan followed me.
My Bro was getting out of his car, apologizing to the three wolves inside. The doors opened. Alpha Jace got out of the front passenger door, Luna Melinda from the back passenger door, and Alpha Mike from the back driver's door.
"What a pleasant surprise." I called out before embracing Luna Melinda in a hug.
"That wasn't pleasant." Luna Melinda replied, "But I'm still glad we ran into your Beta."
I nodded my head. "If the pain I just felt is any indication, I won't be surprised if you never cross the border again."
"You felt our pain?" Alpha Mike asked in shock.
I nodded my head.
"You're getting stronger, faster than expected." Luna Melinda informed me.
Alpha Jace exclaimed, "Why do I feel like I'm on the outside here?"
Alpha Nolan slapped him on the back and replied, "Because you haven't been brought up to speed yet."
I smiled. "Let's go inside and talk."
Alpha Nolan took the lead, with me just slightly behind, but mostly to the side. Alpha Mike and Luna Melinda were behind us, followed by Alpha Jace, and my Beta Bro bringing up the rear.
When we entered the cabin cousin Richard and the Omegas had coffee and snacks ready. Cousin Richard handed me a cup of hot chocolate, I took it and thanked him.
Everyone except Alpha Nolan and myself took a seat at the dining table. I turned my attention to Alpha Jace. "Do you accept that I'm the Silver Luna?"
He nodded his head.
"Have you heard that I'm also the Luna Hunter?" I asked, never taking my eyes off of him.
"There are rumors." He stated, "As well as accusations of some kind of scam or trickery."
I sighed. It's not like I didn't expect every dirty tactic possible, especially considering what I already knew they had done. "Do you accept that I am both?"
Alpha Jace thought for a moment. "I know you fit our prophecy. And I know the Hunters wouldn't accept you as their Luna unless you fit theirs as well. Therefore you must be both, whether it makes sense to me or not."
I smiled. "Do you remember the conversation we had at the hotel?"
His eyes lit up. "Have you found the mate that will make me happy?"
I nodded my head. "Her name is Grace."
"Where is she?" He asked anxiously.
"In a room, waiting for me to call her out." I replied calmly, "She comes from the Hunters, but has decided to join our Posse."
"Posse?" The three newcomers asked in unison.
Alpha Nolan laughed and told them, "Since we're comprised of Wolves and Hunters we chose our own term to indicate our pack or unit, in a way separating ourselves from our past, but also uniting us to our future."
"I like it." Alpha Jace declared.
"Are you willing to meet Grace?" I asked Alpha Jace.
He nodded his head and I called her out.
She stepped out of my former room and their eyes locked. Jace stood up and walked to her as if in a trance. The moment they touched I could see sparks between them.
We gave them a few minutes to talk as the rest of us made small talk until Alpha Jace cleared his throat and inquired, "Will you perform the test on us together, just to be sure?"
I smiled and grabbed both of their hands. Immediately they were shown in silver light.
Luna Melinda gasped. "What does that mean?"
"Silver shows a pure love." I replied, "It doesn't mean there won't be struggles, but it does mean they can make it through anything as long as they put in the effort."
"That's amazing!" Cousin Richard exclaimed.
I let go of the hands I was holding, shaking my head I inquired, "Could you all see it too?"
Everyone nodded their heads.
"Oh, wow." I stated, "Until now it's been something only I can see."
"You're getting stronger the more you accept who you are." Luna Melinda asserted.
I sighed. "Then maybe it's time we quit playing everyone's game and I officially choose Alpha Nolan as my mate."
Alpha Mike shook his head. "We still don't know who our allies and enemies are. You're about to change the way everything works, and we have to be as ready as possible when we hit everyone with the news."
I shrugged my shoulders and admitted, "The bad guys knew a long time ago that Alpha Nolan was likely my mate."
"How could they?" Alpha Nolan asked, "And more importantly, how do you know?"
I took a deep breath and explained, "The vision I had, where I saw why you went Rogue. There was a part you couldn't confirm, because you weren't there, so I didn't mention it."
"Go on." He demanded.
"Luna Eleanor was reporting to a man she obviously knew. He was in the shadows, and she never said his name." I informed everyone, "He was upset that you hadn't been killed or mated, to prevent you from being the mate of the Silver Luna. She declared that you going Rogue was just as good, because no self respecting Luna would mate a Rogue Alpha."
"If you had been raised in a pack, she might have been right." My Bro pointed out.
Everyone quickly agreed.
Alpha Mike said, "No one can make you wait, or play their games. But if we bide some time we might get more answers as well as allies."
"You're powerful, and getting stronger all the time." Luna Melinda pointed out, "But even the strongest person can be taken down by enough enemies."
I groaned.
Alpha Nolan stated, "As much as I don't like it, I have to agree that the benefits of waiting outweigh any benefits of charging forward now."
I growled.
Alpha Nolan grabbed me into his arms. "We know that we're going to be together, and we know we're going to do what is best for everyone who accepts us as their leaders. Now we just have to figure out who our enemies are, so we can deal with them."
I nodded my head and then rested it on his shoulder.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in Eugene." I called out.
He stepped inside.
The moment the door closed behind him the cabin was bathed in the brightest light I'd ever endured. Everyone, including me, hit the ground.
"It's nice to finally see you again." A voice thundered through the air.
