Chapter 6
Inside the Reeves family mansion, Daisy Reeves asked Lindsay, “Sweetie, where did you go? Do you know how worried I was?”
Daisy loved her granddaughter Lindsay so much.
Lindsay scribbled on the paper with crooked words. “I want Mommy.”
Randall’s gaze grew deeper, his voice cold as ice. “You don’t have a mommy.”
Tears welled up in Lindsay’s eyes. She could not understand why everyone else had a mommy, but she did not have one.
Daisy embraced Lindsay tenderly, comforting her softly. Then she looked at Randall with disdain and said, “Lindsay’s condition seems to be worsening. What if she can’t speak anymore? Maybe it’s best to let Lindsay’s mother come and take care of her.”
Daisy was at her wit’s end. Years ago, that woman had brought Lindsay, claiming she was her granddaughter.
After a DNA test, it was confirmed that Lindsay was indeed her granddaughter.
So Daisy had kept Lindsay and sent the woman away with money.
However, the woman had not given up in the six years since, trying various ways to get close to Randall and Lindsay, but Daisy had thwarted all her attempts.
But now, seeing Lindsay’s pitiful state, she was reconsidering her decision.
“I can take care of her all by myself.”
Randall’s gaze was resolute. He could take care of his daughter on his own. He did not need that woman.
“But…”
“No “buts. Lindsay, time to sleep. You’re going to kindergarten tomorrow. Say goodnight to Grandma.”
Randall’s tone left no room for negotiation.
Lindsay lowered her eyes and obediently wrote “Goodnight, Grandma” on the paper.
Daisy’s heart ached as she looked at Lindsay. Lindsay had been raised by her son to be anything but chirpy.
Over the years, she had tried to arrange Randall’s marriage, but he remained unmoved.
If it were not for the sudden appearance of Lindsay, she might have suspected that Randall was not into women.
This could not go on. It seemed she needed to meet that woman.
In the Scenic Bay villa, Christine was surprised to see her father, Brigham, and his family showing up with great fanfare.
“What are you all doing here?” Christine asked.
“Sweetheart, you’ve been away for six years. Now that you’re back in the country, why don’t you come home?” Brigham said.
Christine’s gaze turned cold, and she replied, “It was you who felt embarrassed by me and sent me away back then. How could I dare to dirty your place?”
Christine’s stepmother, Salena, chimed in with a sly tone. “Christine, we sent you away for your own good. After all, staying here would have been tough on you, given the scandal.”
Christine’s lips curved slightly, her tone sarcastic. “You really went to great lengths for my sake. I’m touched.”
Salena shamelessly continued, saying, “Christine, as long as you’re living well, that’s all that matters.”
Christine sneered, her eyes distant. “After six long years, I never expected you to be still so hypocritical. I thought that without me around, your acting skills might have deteriorated, but it seems like they haven’t changed one bit.”
Hearing Christine’s sarcasm, Salena could not hold her composure.
“Sis, my mom cares about you. How can you speak like this and hurt her feelings?” Just like six years ago, Blanche still spoke in a voice that sounded like she was holding her nose, making it very uncomfortable to listen to..
Christine wondered how she had endured this for so many years. It was like her eardrums had suffered terribly.
“Blanche, can you speak nicely? It’s been so many years, and you still sound like you’re pinching your nose while talking. Do you have a sore throat or chronic sinusitis? I know a bit about medicine. Maybe I can help.”
At that moment, Milo tugged at Christine’s sleeve and said, “Mommy, even six–year–olds don’t act cute like her. Doesn’t she know her face isn’t suited for it?”
Blanche nearly exploded with anger after hearing Milo’s words.

Milo looked at Blanche seriously and said, “Ma’am, just by looking at your face, I can tell that your life is destined to be dark You won’t have any children, and you’ll be plagued by misfortune all year round. If you want to change your fate, you’d better do more good deeds.
Blanche was furious, almost wanting to strike, but Brigham pulled her aside.
Brigham looked at Milo with shining eyes and said. “Christine, is this your son? He’s grown so big. I want to give him a hug.” Brigham reached out to pick up Milo, but Milo quickly hid behind Christine.

Salena sneered. “Why is this child so timid and distant?”
“My son is not distant. He just knows I don’t welcome you,” Christine said with an icy tone, showing no trace of warmth.
“Daughter, I heard you had a pair of twin sons overseas. Is this one the older brother or the younger one?” Brigham inquired.
Milo popped out his little head and said, “I’m the younger one, and my big brother is over there.”
Milo pointed to the living room, where they could see Oliver, who looked exactly like Milo, focused and typing on a laptop.
Throughout their arrival, Oliver in the living room did not spare a glance at them, completely absorbed in his keyboard.
Salena said sarcastically, “Christine, he’s still so young. Don’t let him play games all the time. It’s bad for his eyes.”
Milo chuckled and said, “You’re so ignorant! Who said playing on a computer means playing games? Oliver is doing financial investments.”
They could not believe such a young child knew about financial investments. After all, children at this age usually did not even know all letters.
“My grandson is brilliant,” Brigham exclaimed.
“Dad, you don’t need to pretend to flatter him. So, why did you come to see us today?” Christine asked, cutting straight to the point.
“You’re my daughter, so I won’t beat around the bush. I came to see you today because our company’s financial chain has broken, and we urgently need 6 million dollars to save it.”
“Dad, if your financial chain is broken, coming to me won’t help. I don’t have any money, Christine replied indifferently.
But Brigham did not give up and said, “Sweetheart, I know you don’t have money, but the kids do.”
Christine was instantly stunned. She did not understand how Brigham knew that Oliver had money.
Oliver was known as the “Magnate” in the western hemisphere financial investment circle. Everyone knew that nickname. Of course, no one knew that the mighty “Magnate” was actually a six–year–old boy.
The fact that Oliver was the “Magnate” had always been a secret. There was no way that Brigham could know it.
“They have something to do with Erickson Group. I mean, they’re Mr. Erickson’s…”
Brigham was interrupted by Christine, who exclaimed with emotional distress, “Stop!”

Christine lowered her gaze, trying hard to restrain her anger, and gently said, “Milo, go to your brother. I have something to say to these people.”
Milo nodded and went to find Oliver.
Suddenly, Christine’s expression changed, becoming so dark and terrifying. “Step outside,” she said.
Christine ushered Brigham and the other two out and firmly closed the door behind her.
“Haven’t you let them know about their father yet? It’s something they’ll find out sooner or later. Even though Mr. Erickson is gone, he left behind an estate worth 200 million dollars behind. It shouldn’t all go to his eldest son. Oliver and Milo are his sons, too, entitled to a share of the inheritance. Tomorrow, I’ll take them to Erickson Group and reclaim what rightfully belongs to them.”
Brigham spoke with righteous indignation while Christine’s gaze turned slightly cold. It turns out he wanted to use her sons to fight for the inheritance.
