Chapter 5
Oliver and Milo looked helplessly at Christine, who was joyfully holding the little girl whose background was unknown. They could not help but shrug their shoulders.
Both of them were handsome, but Christine had never admired their looks like this before. Now, she seemed utterly enamored with someone else’s little girl. They could not help but sigh and think that Christine really had no taste.
Christine gently asked, “Little one, where are your family members?”
The little girl still shook her head in response.
Christine tried again. “Do you remember your parents‘ phone number?”
The girl remained silent but snuggled even deeper into Christine’s embrace. It seemed they could not communicate, which left Christine a bit perplexed.
“Let’s take her to the police station!” Oliver made a decisive call, trying to act maturely.
But at the mention of going to the police station, the little girl suddenly became agitated.
“If you don’t want to go to the police station, can you call your mom and dad? I can help you talk to them, okay?” Christine suggested.
Under the intense gaze of Oliver and Milo, the girl reluctantly typed a phone number into Christine’s phone and handed it over. Then she resumed her position and snuggled in Christine’s arms as if it were the most natural thing.
Oliver and Milo could not believe this little girl had suddenly latched onto Christine. They wanted to grab her and throw her away.
They really wanted to warn her that their mom belonged to them.
“Hi, excuse me, are you missing a little girl?” Christine asked after the call got through.
Randall’s eyes darkened instantly, his voice low but tinged with danger. “Where is my daughter?”
Christine found that cold voice strangely familiar. She did not know if it was only her imagination.
“We’re currently on Millennial Street, Christine replied, glancing around at the street signs.
“Stay where you are. I’ll be there soon,” Randall commanded.
“Wait, I…” Christine was about to explain that she was with her kids and heading to the mall to eat, but the call was already ended from the other end.
Feeling empathetic towards the man who must be anxious about losing his child, Christine reluctantly decided to let Oliver and Milo go hungry for a little longer while they waited for the girl’s father to arrive.
She had Oliver and Milo sit in the backseat of the car to rest while she stayed with the little girl on the roadside.
After about ten minutes, a black Maybach suddenly pulled over.
The door opened, and Randall, with his tall stature and innate elegance, stepped out of the car, causing Christine’s heart to skip a beat.
She realized this man was the handsome and fierce guy she encountered at the airport. At the airport, she overheard him talking about losing a child. It had to be him.
Randall’s demeanor was dignified, but his voice was icy and cold.
“Lindsay, come here,” he commanded.
The little girl held Christine’s hand and genily shook her head.
Christine did not want to hand the little girl over to a stranger casually, so she asked, “Little one, is that man your dad?”
The girl did not react, only stubbornly clinging to Christine’s hand.
Randall’s deep gaze fixed on Lindsay, and he said with his thin lips moving, “Lindsay, don’t make me repeat it. Come here.”
The little girl looked visibly distressed.
>Frowning, Christine looked at Randall and said, “Why be so harsh? Don’t you know that little girls are meant to be spoiled.
not scolded?”
Randall was taken aback. Everyone in Royalyork knew that his daughter was his precious gem, and no one had ever accused him of being harsh with her. He could not help but wonder if he really appeared that way.
Christine lowered her head and asked Lindsay once more, “Little one, is he really your biological dad?”
Christine worried that Randall might not be Lindsay’s biological father. She could not just hand over such an adorable little girl to someone without being sure.

Lindsay nodded, confirming that he was indeed her biological father.
Thinking that Randall must be upset from losing the child, Christine squatted down and said to Lindsay, “Your dad might seem harsh, but you can tell he’s worried because you got lost. Can you forgive him?”
Randall was not happy about Christine calling him harsh. His gaze grew even deeper.
He suspected Christine was trying to drive a wedge between him and his daughter.
Lindsay obediently nodded.
“Lindsay is such a good girl,” Christine said, patting Lindsay’s soft hair. “Go to your dad now,”
Lindsay walked towards Randall, who furrowed his brows.
His daughter rarely interacted with anyone, but now she was listening to Christine.
As Lindsay approached, she kept looking back at Christine.
Randall pulled Lindsay behind him and looked at Christine. “Your tactics are the most cunning I’ve seen. But I warn you, stay away from my daughter.”
After saying that, Randall led Lindsay to the Maybach parked nearby.
Even though she did not expect any rewards for doing a good deed, Christine could not help but feel indignant. She had. helped find his daughter, and her two sons were still hungry in the car. The least he could do was say thank you.
“Sir, I helped you find your daughter. The least you could do is say thank you,” Christine said defiantly.
He found her words ridiculous. No one had ever dared to ask him to say those two words.
Randall put Lindsay in the backseat of the car, then turned to face Christine.
His dark eyes burned with intensity, and his thin lips were tightly pressed together. He exuded an aura of detachment that seemed to push people away.
With each step he took towards her, Christine felt the pressure increasing.
Suddenly, his long and fair hand casually loosened the button on his chest, and in a tempting voice, he said, “First, you orchestrated a chance encounter at the airport, and now you’re getting close to my daughter. Seeing me twice in one day, are you trying to catch my attention?”
“Are you insane? I’m a doctor. Do you need me to check your mental health?” Christine wanted to curse. She thought Randall was a ridiculous man who considered himself irresistible to everyone.
Suddenly, Randall pulled her forcefully, and Christine stumbled into his chest.
Their warm breaths mingled, and the sudden intimacy made Christine blush and her heart race.
With a devilish smirk, Randall noticed everything just as he had expected. “You pretend to dislike me, but your body’s reaction gives you away. So, are you going to keep pretending?” he said in a teasing tone..
Christine’s body trembled, and with her last bit of willpower, she pushed Randall away.
“Are you an alien, completely lacking human common sense? I suggest you hurry back to your mother planet!”
Christine gave Randall a disdainful look and hurriedly ran back to her car.
She ran as fast as she could, as if afraid that slowing down would bring bad luck. As he watched Christine leave, a mysterious glint flickered in Randall’s eyes.
Christine immediately drove away, not even thinking about eating anymore.
Sitting in the back seat, Milo looked at her and said, “Mommy, you said you didn’t know that man. But you were so close to him. Is he our daddy?”
Christine was utterly flustered. Oliver and Milo had witnessed that scene just now.
She awkwardly explained, “That man was just thanking me because I found his daughter. He really isn’t your daddy. Mommy doesn’t know him.”
“But, Mommy, I feel like…” Milo insisted.
To avoid Milo’s insistence, Christine quickly changed the topic. “Oliver, what are you looking at?”
At that moment, Oliver’s fingers flew across his laptop, typing rapidly.
Randall’s information appeared on the screen, and Milo clapped like a seal, admiring Oliver.
“Wow, Oliver, you’re amazing! You found out Daddy’s information so quickly. Wow, our daddy is the CEO of Reeves Group, Randall Reeves!”
Christine slammed on the brakes.
She could not believe such a coincidence could happen in the world.
