Chapter 37
Chapter 37
Oliver and Milo Paul walked stiffly to Elizabeth Reeves under the watchful eyes of their mother, Christine.
“Yes, they do look like Randall. Even our little darling girl doesn’t look like my eldest grandson as much as the boys, she exclaimed.
Daisy Reeves echoed excitedly. “Mom, do you think the boys look like my son? I felt the same when I first saw them on the surveillance footage. They looked too much like Randall. When I saw them with my eyes just now, I felt like time had reversed. My son has become a child again, and there are two of him.”
Randall Reeves stood by, looking as cold as ice and wondering what the two older women were fussing about.
Daisy tried suppressing her excitement when she detected her son’s disdainful gaze.
Randall had behaved like a big block of ice since he was young, distant, and emotionless. On the contrary. Oliver and Milo were much cuter and warmer than Randall when he was young.
Daisy gently leaned over and asked lovingly. “Little boys, who are your daddy and mommy?”
Milo said childishly. “My mommy said that I can’t tell strangers about the situation at home.”
Daisy was amused. “These two little guys are quite safety conscious.”
Christine’s brows twitched. The two brats had no sense of safety at all! How could they follow a stranger home without her permission?
Christine’s face darkened, thinking she had not hit the boys for a long time.
Meanwhile, the two brothers could feel their mother’s burning gaze.
Milo dared not think about his infertility powder anymore. He just wanted to slip away quickly.
He said politely in a cute manner. “Granny, we can’t play at your house anymore. We called Mommy just now, but her phone was switched off, and she didn’t pick up. Mommy didn’t agree to let us come over. Lindsay invited us warmly, and we didn’t want to disappoint her. Therefore, we came home with her. Now that she’s home, we should go home too.”
Christine suddenly realized she had forgotten to turn on her cell phone after the surgery; she was overwhelmed with guilt for blaming the boys.
However, this was not a good enough reason for them to go to someone else’s house without her permission.
She needed to teach them a lesson when they got home. A love education, as she called it.
The two brothers secretly exchanged glances.
“Brother, did you see Mommy’s eyes?” Milo signaled with his eyes.
“Yeah, I saw it. It’s a reminder that we must attend another session of love education,” Oliver signaled in reply.
“If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have come. I didn’t expect Mommy to be here. I’m going to cry!” Milo put on a sad face. “Oh, I see. Your mommy doesn’t know you’re coming to our house to play. It’s okay, boys. Tell me your mommy’s phone number, and I’ll help you contact her,” Elizabeth said warmly.
Milo became instantly nervous. His mother was in the same room in disguise. Obviously, she did not want to reveal her identity.
She would be exposed if her cell phone rang, and they would be in hot soup.
“Granny, it’s okay. My mommy is very busy with work and can’t be disturbed. We’re going home now. You don’t have to contact my mommy,” said Milo.
“You’re going home? But you’ve just arrived. I can’t bear to see you boys leave so soon. Oh, my chest hurts when I think of you leaving.” Elizabeth clenched her chest and said.
Christine was rendered speechless.
Randall was equally stunned and could not utter a word.
They shared the same thought. Elizabeth’s poor acting skills could only fool children.
When Milo saw Elizabeth was upset, he said worriedly in a childish tone, “Granny, we won’t leave then. We’ll stay to keep you company. Don’t be sad!”
Elizabeth beamed and said, “That’s wonderfull”
Milo looked at her and said softly, “But when we leave later, can Granny promise not to go back on her word?”
Randall raised his eyebrows. The little mischief–maker was no fool.
Elizabeth was stunned for a moment before smiling lovingly.
Chapter 37
Milo was a smart little boy.
“I promise I won’t go back on my word. I’ll get the driver to send you back later, okay?”
Milo nodded and said in a childish voice, “All right.”
“If your mommy is busy, what about your daddy?”
Oliver and Milo said in unison, “Dead.”
Oliver had kept quiet all this while. When he did say something, there was always an innate sense of oppression.
Even his tone sounded like Randall Reeves.
Randall turned gloomy instantly. The boys hugged his thigh and called him daddy a few days ago. Now, they claimed their father was dead. What did they mean?
“Poor boys. Did your daddy die in an accident?” Elizabeth asked with concern.
It was a pity that the boys‘ father had passed away.
“Our daddy is a scumbag. My brother and I will treat him as dead because he did not acknowledge us.”
Randall’s face turned blue; his sons had just cursed him.
“What kind of despicable man doesn’t acknowledge his flesh and blood? Tell me his name. I’ll make sure he suffers hell in Archiland, given the influence of the Reeves family,” Elizabeth snarled.
Although Milo’s scumbag dad was despicable, making him suffer in hell was out of line!
Milo only wanted to punish his scumbag dad.
He smiled awkwardly and said, “It’s okay, Granny. Anyway, we don’t care anymore. He’s just a cheap scumbag dad; we don’t need him. We can take good care of Mommy without him.”
“What good boys! Your mommy is lucky to have sons like you.”
Christine had a complicated look on her face. She feared her sons would let slip that Randall Reeves was their scumbag dad.
She did not want to worsen the misunderstanding any further.
Milo stole a glance at his brother. He felt his mother’s burning gaze as if he was dancing in a minefield.
“Are you hungry, dear boys? We have a lot of delicious food at home. Dr. Nancy, please join us.”
Elizabeth invited Christine to dine with her, but Christine did not want to be at the same table as Randall. However, she feared something might go wrong now that her two sons were here too.
Just as Christine was about to agree, Randall stared at her slyly and said, “Dr. Nancy, you just said that you have another engagement and have to leave. It’s a shame you don’t have time to cat with us.”
Christine looked at Randall and knew he did it on purpose.
But she had no proof.
Oliver and Milo looked at their father, who did not let their mother eat, and felt it was too much.
Oliver said coldly, “Reeves Group’s market value is over hundreds of billions of dollars, yet you’re short of food for a guest!”
Milo chimed in and said disdainfully, “You’re so petty, Uncle. You won’t even offer her something to eat!”
Lindsay wrote on her small board.
“Daddy, bad!”
Randall knew Christine would not leave her two sons behind. He wanted to annoy her for the sake of it. Why did all three children suddenly turn against him?
Did he inadvertently anger them?
Randall was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as the heir of the Reeves family. He behaved high and mighty like a king. No one had scolded him before, let alone kids. Daisy and Elizabeth burst out laughing when they saw the three children scolding Randall
Daisy and Elizabeth did not realize they were their biological mother and grandmother, respectively.
Randall’s face darkened.
“Looks like the kids like you very much, Dr. Nancy. Why don’t you stay and eat with them if you have nothing urgent to attend to?”
