Chapter 36
Milo Paul lowered his eyes, his curly eyelashes fluttered slightly. He was disappointed at the thought of not going to Lindsay’s house.
“All right, Brother. I understand. We won’t go then.” Milo sighed and gave in.
Oliver felt terrible when he saw his brother’s dejected look.
Milo bit his lips and walked up to Lindsay Reeves. “We don’t want to go to your house. What’s so fun about your house, anyway? We won’t go!” he scoffed, sounding arrogant.
When Lindsay heard that the boys refused to go to her house, she awkwardly lowered her head and played with her fingers. She had mustered up her courage to invite them, but the brothers were unwilling to play at her house. Suffice it to say she was equally disappointed..
Oliver and Milo did not want to be good friends with her; they hurt her feelings.
Lindsay’s doe eyes welled up instantly as if the slightest movement would cause the tears to roll down her cheeks.
“Okay, okay. We’ll go!”
Oliver was speechless and reluctantly gave in.
Refusing to go had made Milo unhappy, and Lindsay was about to cry. Oliver felt helpless.
His younger brother was already a headache for him, and now this half–sister was a crybaby to boot.
However, as their elder brother, Oliver could not bear to see his younger siblings suffer.
He had no choice but to surrender!
After Oliver said they would go, Milo instantly returned to his happy self. He jumped before Oliver and said, “Brother, do you mean it? Are you sure we are going to the Reeves family residence?”
Oliver sighed helplessly. He put his hands in his pockets and nodded.
Lindsay miraculously held back her tears; she wrote on her small board with a bright smile.
That’s great. Thank you.”
Lindsay’s innocent smile rendered Oliver helpless. He had always kept an eye on Milo because the latter was his younger brother.
However, why should he bother to care about his half–sister’s feelings? Oliver could not justify it, but he decided to bite the
bullet.
“Forget it. I won’t do it again in the future,” he thought..
When the Reeves family’s car arrived at Star Kindergarten, the other cars parted to make way for it.
After all, the Reeves family was the most influential in Archiland.
The chauffeur opened the back seat door. Daisy Reeves exited the car elegantly, immediately attracting everyone’s
attention.
“Daisy Reeves is here to pick up the little Reeves princess personally from school, remarked a parent waiting to pick up her kid
“The little princess is indeed the center of attraction for the Reeves family.”
“She’s the Reeves family’s only heiress now.”
“What do you mean? Although the little princess is Randall Reeves’s only child, her biological mother has always been a mystery. Probably someone from a dubious background, if you ask me. Anyway, Randall Reeves is still young. He will surely marry someone of equal status to carry on the family line. No matter how precious the little princess is in the Reeves family, she is no legitimate child. How did she become the only heiress anyway?”
“Did you wake up from your afternoon nap before coming over to pick up your kid? Haven’t you heard Reeves Group’s announcement today, transferring 40% of its shares to the little princess? That means even if Rendall Reeves had another child in the future, the little princess would still be the family’s only heiress.”
“OMG, why is the Reeves family doing this? Everyone in Archiland knows that the Reeves family dotted on Lindsay, but why make her the only heiress? She
is just an illegitimate child!”
“It’s precisely because many people think like you. I heard that the little princess was bullied in kindergarten. The Reeves family sent a strong message by making her the only heiress so no one can look down on Lindsay.”
“OMG, Lindsay Reeves is truly the billion–dollar princess. I worship her humbly!”
Lindsay ran over eagerly when she saw her grandmother, stretching her hands for a hug.
Chapter 36
Daisy picked up her granddaughter and pressed her face against hers. She felt fulfilled.
“My little darling, did you have a good day?”
Just then, Daisy noticed Oliver and Milo following behind Lindsay.
“Are you the little boys who protected my granddaughter?”
Daisy put Lindsay down. The latter wrote on her board.
“I’ve invited the boys to our house to play.”
When Daisy saw what Lindsay wrote, she bent down and looked at the two boys. She smiled and said, “That’s great. Let’s go, handsome boys!”
Daisy was a gentle woman with a temperament to match.
Milo secretly said to Oliver. “Brother, this is our grandma. What a beautiful grandma!”
Oliver’s gaze was cold; he said calmly, “We have nothing to do with the Reeves family.”
Milo quickly covered his mouth with his hand and nodded vigorously.
His brother was right. Their scumbag dad did not acknowledge them. Therefore, they had nothing to do with the Reeves. family.
This woman was not their grandmother. She was just someone’s good–looking grandmother.
Daisy sat in the passenger seat and secretly glanced at the three children sitting in the back.
The trio sat side by side; they looked like triplets at a glance.
It was a beautiful picture. How wonderful it would be if the three children were all from the Reeves family.
The heart–warning picture was indeed pleasing to the eye.
Meanwhile, back in the Reeves family.
“I’ll go back to prepare today’s pills, Mrs. Reeves; I’ll get someone to send it over immediately once it’s done. I’ll take my leave now,” said Christine Paul.
She had to hurry up. Otherwise, her two boys would become anxious if he was late.
Just as Christine was about to leave, she saw Elizabeth Reeves leading her two sons in, followed by the little one. Christine was stunned beyond words.
She finally understood what it meant to be pleasingly surprised. Her large black–framed glasses obstructed her view, and she felt like smashing them.
She wondered if she saw things. No matter how hard Christine looked, Oliver and Milo were the two boys standing before
her.
She instantly felt as if she had been hit between her eyes.
Why did the two brats come to the Reeves family instead of waiting for her to pick them up after school?
Oliver and Milo were equally stunned when they saw Christine. She wore a wig and a pair of big black–framed glasses, looking like some old–fashioned newsreader on TV. They wondered why the dubious woman looked so much like their mother.
Milo hid behind Oliver in fear, as if he had been caught red–handed.
Although Oliver looked calm on the surface, his heart was topsy–turvy.
“What is Momíny doing here?” they wondered.
The two brothers looked at each other and signaled with their eyes. Their mother had claimed Randall was not a scumbag dad, yet she came to the Reeves family in disguise. Obviously, she could not let go of their scumbag dad. Oh, poor Mommy.
Their mother was a beautiful young woman disguised as an ugly old maid to see their scumbag dad. Her love for him must be deep.
Christine realized her two sons‘ gaze turned from shock to pity. She wondered what happened.
What did her two brats look at her as if she was an abandoned woman hurt by love?
“Mom, the two handsome boys helped Lindsay out of trouble. They’re like Lindsay’s little brothers.”
Elizabeth Reeves’s cloudy eyes instantly lit up when she saw Oliver and Milo. She called out to them like a dotting grandmother.
“Hello, boys. Come over to Granny.”
