Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Oliver let out a mocking chuckle, fully aware that no one at this kindergarten could match his intelligence. But he was surprised to find someone as clueless as Anna.
Upon hearing this, Milo burst into laughter, nearly laughing so hard that he had trouble catching his breath. Holding his stomach, which was starting to hurt from laughing, he looked at Anna and said, “Oliver is into advanced mathematics, and you think it’s the same as calculating reward points at luxury stores? Oh, little girl, you might be a classic example of beauty without brains
Anna’s face turned red with anger, and in a rage, she pushed over the nearby table. The overturned table collided with Lindsay’s foot, causing her to wince in pain.
Crouching on the ground, clutching her hurt foot, Lindsay endured the pain. Instead of feeling remorse, Anna arrogantly said. “I didn’t know you were standing there. I would’ve known you were there if you didn’t keep so quiet, so it’s all your fault. Oh, right. You can’t speak. You’re just a mute. What’s the point of a mute like you hovering around us? It’s laughable.” With disdainful mockery, Anna belittled Lindsay, assuming a superior posture.
A little boy tried to help Lindsay up, but Anna rudely snapped, “Jack, what are you doing? Do you want to help Lindsay? Let me remind you, Lindsay is a bastard. Her mother is either a mute or a lowly woman. Otherwise, why wouldn’t her father marry her mother? They’re all secretive about it. You’d better not be friends with this kind of person, or you’ll end up being a laughingstock.”
In the kindergarten, Anna isolated Lindsay and launched verbal attacks. Lindsay could bear the isolation and attacks from the other children. However, she could not tolerate the humiliation of her mother.
Gritting her teeth. Lindsay stood up and lunged at Anna, slapping her repeatedly as she pinned her down.
Fuming with anger, Anna shouted at her friends standing nearby. “What are you all staring at? Hurry up and pull this bastard away from me!”
Nobody had ever dared to attack Anna like this in the kindergarten. Moreover, Lindsay was usually quiet and unremarkable, so all the kids never imagined she would dare to hit Anna. Anna’s gang were all taken aback for a moment However, upon hearing Anna’s command, they quickly snapped out of it and rushed over to pull Lindsay away.
Lindsay was determined to fight Anna, but the four boys managed to restrain her.
Anna noticed her dirty skirt and disheveled hair, and she screamed.
“Lindsay, I won’t let you get away with this. You guys, teach her a lesson! Beat her to death!”
Anna incited the other children to join in attacking Lindsay. Lindsay knew she could not win the fight, but with her eyes burning, she swore that she would never forgive anyone who insulted her mother.
Just as Anna and her gang were about to attack Lindsay, Oliver, and Milo stood in front of Lindsay, like knights shielding a
damsel in distress.
Lindsay never expected Oliver and Milo to come to her defense. Her eyes shimmered with gratitude.
Anna seethed angrily, exclaiming, “What are you helping her for? She’s a dumb girl, and she’s a motherless bastard!”
Oliver coldly stared at Anna and said, “Anyone who disturbs my reading will not be shown mercy.
Oliver’s imposing presence made all the other children hesitate, feeling a chill run down their spines. Oliver was just a child like them, yet they could not help but feel like Oliver was like a terrifying adult.
At that moment, Milo stepped forward, saying to Oliver, “Oliver, leave this little matter to me. You can focus on your reading
Though Oliver and Milo did not explicitly mention that they were protecting her, Lindsay felt a sense of protection enveloping her.
Being protected by her brothers at the same time warmed her heart.
Anna was furious but could not lash out at Oliver and Milo because she sensed they were no ordinary kids. She was scared that if she acted out, things might get really bad for her.
And so, Anna spoke fiercely, “Lindsay, just for Oliver and Milo’s sake, I’ll let you off the hook today. After all, these two seem really classy, and I can’t let a low–class bastard like you ruin their mood.”
Lindsay was seething with anger, but since she could not speak, she had no choice but to endure Anna’s arrogance.
“Apologize.”
Oliver’s gaze turned icy, but it also carried a suffocating pressure.

Anna, with her head held high, retorted, “No need. Even if she apologized, I wouldn’t forgive someone like her, a lowly bastard. After all, I am the rightful heiress of the prestigious Foster family in Archiland.
Despite coming from the distinguished Reeves family and being well–loved by her dad and grandma, Lindsay did not intimidate Anna in the least.
In Anna’s eyes, Lindsay was just a dumb girl and a motherless illegitimate child, nothing to compare with her. As the legitimate daughter of a wealthy father, Anna had no reason to fear someone like Lindsay.
Milo could not bear watching this anymore and boldly approached Anna. Carefully sizing her up, he said, “You’re quite the odd one, aren’t you? My brother asked you to apologize to Lindsay, yet here you are, acting all entitled. Clearly, you were the one in the wrong, yet you expect others to apologize to you. It’s laughable. Also, don’t be too conceited. Your days of luxury won’t last long. I can see the future, and I know your opulence is bound to end soon.”
Anna felt a mix of anger and fear upon hearing this. She never expected Milo to say something like that. Wealthy families often believed in fortune–telling, often inviting fortune–tellers to predict their future at home, and Anna was no exception. She believed in it too.
Her face flushed, and Anna yelled at Milo in frustration, “What nonsense are you spouting?”
Milo smirked triumphantly and said, “I’m telling you, I’m a fortune–telling genius. I can accurately predict the future. Just by looking at your face, I can tell you have a big mouth, thin lips, and a large gap between your front teeth. That suggests you won’t be wealthy and prosperous for long. In my view, you’ll be rich until around ten years old, and after that, you’ll fall into poverty, leading a miserable and unfortunate life.
The other kids laughed at Milo’s words because he said Anna had a big mouth.
“Anna’s mouth is huge, like a carp’s!”
“Yeah, it’s really big. Hahaha.
The kids all made fun of Anna, driving her to the brink of madness. After all, she was always the leader of the class. She had never been ridiculed like this.
“Stop laughing, or I’ll shut your mouths myself,” Anna threatened.
Seeing Anna fuming, the kids stifled their laughter, covering their mouths as they chuckled silently.
Anna glared fiercely at Lindsay, blaming her for the teasing. But Lindsay met Anna’s wrath head–on. She had Oliver and Milo by her side, so she was not afraid.
“Apologize to Lindsay, and I’ll reveal the solution. Otherwise, your glory and wealth will vanish,” Milo said casually, but it pierced Anna’s ears.
“I don’t believe you.”
“You’re a small–minded person, and it will affect your parents‘ fortune. I predict that they’ll face a bloody disaster today. You can refuse to apologize, but we’ll await your apology tomorrow.”
“Trying to trick me into apologizing to a dumb girl? I won’t be fooled!” Anna’s face turned red with anger as she huffed back
to her seat.
At that moment, Rebecca entered the room and saw the kids gathered together. She maintained her cheerful smile and said, “Children, playtime is over. Please return to your seats.”
All the kids sat back down, but Anna continued to glower at Lindsay, her gaze sharp as a knife.
Lindsay followed Oliver and Milo back to her seat. She discreetly handed a small note to Oliver and Milo. Curious, Milo opened the note and found a simple “thank you” written on it. Milo did not know how to respond to Lindsay’s gratitude.
Because Lindsay was Randall’s daughter, Milo had previously thought that Lindsay’s mom had stolen Christine’s place, so he did not like Lindsay. He believed that being kind to Lindsay would be betraying Christine.
But now, hearing the situation, he realized that Lindsay’s mom had been abandoned by Randall, too. It seemed that Lindsay, just like them, was also in an unfortunate situation.
He realized that Randall was indeed a big scumbag he had suspected. Randall was only interested in seeking pleasure and impregnating other women, but he never took responsibility for properly raising his children. The depth of his wickedness infuriated Milo to no end.
He decided to act quickly and ensure that Randall would never harm anyone else. Milo resolved to ensure Randall took the infertility powder and prevent any more victims of his negligence.
