Chapter 26
After Milo finished speaking, his cheeks turned red, and he was all puffed up, ready to drag Oliver away. But when Milo spoke earlier, he only whispered to Oliver, so nobody else heard what he said, not even Rebecca.
Rebecca looked puzzled, not understanding why they were fine just moments ago, but now they were holding hands and wanting to leave the classroom together.
She never expected that Oliver and Milo, though good–looking, had hot tempers and would easily get angry.
Rebecca quickly stepped in to stop Oliver and Milo, bending down with a warm smile. “Hey there, two handsome boys, what’s going on? Where are you two heading?”
“Sorry, we want to switch classrooms.”
Rebecca became instantly worried, feeling a bit hurt. “You two handsome boys don’t like me, and that’s why you want to switch classrooms?”
“No, it’s not because of you, Ms. Clark.”
Rebecca really liked Oliver and Milo and wanted them to stay in her class.
The principal might think she could not handle them if they left now. The kids in this kindergarten were from wealthy families, and the children’s backgrounds were very powerful. If someone misunderstood that she was not good to the kids and they did not like her, she could not continue working at this kindergarten.
“If it’s not because of me, then what’s the reason?”
“It’s not because of you, Ms. Clark. But there is someone in this classroom that we don’t like, and we don’t want to stay here.”
Lindsay’s eyes lowered, and her long lashes trembled. She worried that the person Oliver and Milo did not like might be her. She had never been popular, not with the other kids in kindergarten, and now, even Oliver and Milo did not like her. The more she thought about it, the sadder she became, and tears welled up in her eyes. She lowered her head, clutching her hands tightly.
Rebecca realized that it was just a dispute among the kids, which she thought could be easily resolved.
With a sweet smile, she said, “Hey, two handsome boys, do you have friends you know in our Moon Class? You haven’t even come to the Moon Class yet, and you already know each other. That means you’ve got a special bond! There’s no unhappiness between friends that can’t be solved. Come on, let’s all hold hands together, and you’ll still be good friends. I’ll give you all a friendship medal.”
“It’s no use. It’ll never work out, Milo replied, looking stubborn. They did not want a step–sister. They did not care about any friendship medal.
Seeing Milo’s stubborn look, Rebecca knew he was still angry. So, she squatted down and said. “My little darlings, the teacher really wants to teach you. If you leave, I’ll be very sad. And if you leave, I’ll lose my job and won’t be able to teach the other kids. The other kids will be sad, too, not wanting the teacher to go.”
Milo’s eyebrows furrowed tightly. “Us switching classrooms has nothing to do with you. Why should it make you lose your job?”
“You just arrived, and if you leave, the principal will think I haven’t taken care of you properly. When he left, the principal made it clear that I should take good care of you guys. If you leave, the principal will see me as an incompetent employee and might fire me.”
“We’ll help you explain to the principal,” Milo said.
“It won’t work. If I can’t keep you guys, it’s my fault as a teacher, Rebecca replied, looking sad.
Milo might not like his half–sister, but he was a kind–hearted kid who did not want to cause trouble for others.
With no other choice, Milo decided to stay for the time being. Although he did not like Lindsay, he figured he could ignore her.
Milo then sneakily glanced at Oliver, who understood that Milo had softened his stance and changed his mind, so Oliver nodded in agreement.
Milo knew that Oliver was on board with his plan.
So, he told Rebecca, “Ms. Clark, don’t be sad. We’ll stay here.
Rebecca’s face instantly lit up with a smile. “That’s great! Come on in and take a seat.”
Rebecca hurriedly ushered Oliver and Milo inside, afraid they might change their minds.

Chapter 26
“Kids, let’s give a warm welcome to our new classmates, Oliver and Milo.”
The classroom erupted with enthusiastic applause. Oliver and Milo were both handsome, and the kids liked them instantly.
Lindsay saw Oliver and Milo entering, and her dim eyes lit up.
Seeing Oliver and Milo back in the classroom, she felt extremely happy. Starting today, she would not have to go to kindergarten alone anymore. From now on, she would have someone to accompany her, and it was an incredibly joyful thing for her.
Initially, Lindsay detested going to kindergarten, but the thought of having Oliver and Milo with her suddenly made the idea of kindergarten not so bad. In fact, she felt that going to kindergarten had transformed into something enjoyable.
Rebecca sweetly said, “Let me arrange your seats. Uh… you can sit next to Lindsay, okay?”
The other kids in the class did not like Lindsay because she did not talk. They teased her as the “dumb girl,” and no one wanted to sit beside her. That was why there was an empty seat beside her.
Without thinking, Rebecca seated Oliver and Milo right next to Lindsay.
Milo was speechless. It seemed that his fears were coming true. But he had promised the teacher to stay in the class, and a true gentleman does not break his word or create problems.
Therefore, despite being very reluctant, Milo followed Oliver’s lead and sat reluctantly beside Lindsay. He felt like he was being tortured and could not understand why Rebecca had to arrange for them to sit there.
Milo pursed his lips, acting like he had not noticed Lindsay’s presence.
Anyway, he could not get to like Lindsay.
Lindsay looked at Oliver and Milo excitedly, but they avoided her gaze as if she were invisible.
It seemed that Oliver and Milo did not like her.
Lindsay felt so sad.
Once Rebecca had everything in order, she started the class. Throughout the lesson, Lindsay kept stealing glances at Oliver and Milo, but they remained focused, not giving her a second look. Lindsay felt disappointed and kept her head down.
After the class, many kids surrounded Oliver and Milo.
“Where are you guys from? I’ve never seen you before.”
Star Kindergarten was a top–notch school in Archiland, and the children attending were from wealthy and prestigious families. In high society, they had some connections with each other, but Oliver and Milo were unfamiliar faces.
“We just came back from Cardolia.”
“You guys look so good! Honestly, you’re the most good–looking people I’ve ever seen. I think you could become big celebrities!”
“Your parents must be really good–looking too, right? By the way, what do your parents do for a living?”
“Here, I’ll share my toy with you. Could we be friends?”
The kids bombarded them with questions and remarks, but Oliver seemed unfazed, still engrossed in his calculus book. He knew kindergarten could be boring, so he had brought his book to read.
“Oliver, are you into math as well? My mom is crazy about it too. She’s always calculating the rewards points she earns from all those fancy stores. She’s amassed billions of points already,” said a little girl wearing a pink dress, teasing and boasting as she spoke.
She was Anna Foster, from the renowned Foster family, one of the four prestigious families in Archiland.
She had always been the center of attention at the kindergarten, as if she was the princess who everyone admired.
