The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 158

King Braedon POV

"Braedon how about we get some coffee into you," he said smoothly.

I shook my head, finished the beer, and gestured to the omega, motioning for her to fetch me another one. "No thanks, I have no intention of remaining sober," I told James with a growl "I'm not in the mood to be placated or babysat either. You can go" I said rudely. Stella calmly got up from the table and sashayed out of the kitchen, a smile curved on her lips. I waited, ensuring she left the pack house, grabbed the beer that the omega left me, and turned to James and Sarah who had also noticed. "No doubt she's informing Josie if that's who is responsible for everything of what she's seen. Keep Stella in sight" I informed James but James just chuckled.

"That's already taken care of. Blair's had Sierra on her for the last few days. Besides, the arguing has gotten through the entire pack. You know gossip spreads like wildfire."

I drank the beer and motioned for another.

"You're really going to get drunk?" Sarah asked lowly.

I winked at her. "Still need to put on an act around the omegas" I whispered and she nodded "Besides if I appear drunk, then the person may make their move sooner rather than later."

James looked thoughtful and slightly impressed. "You know that if you reject Blair you could wind up possibly killing your pup," he said sounding slightly sickened.

I glared down at the table. "That's the only thing that's stopping me from doing it" I snarled "If she wasn't carrying my pup, I might have rejected her already" I exclaimed "So she's lucky she's pregnant."

My tone was callous. Even James winced slightly at how cold it was. Sarah swallowed hard. "Braedon, maybe you need to just calm down and think rationally about this. I mean, you accepted her a long time ago..."

"That's before I realized how infuriatingly annoying she was" I interrupted.

She sighed. "Well, I think you're being unreasonable. It's just as hard for Blair right now, being pregnant and hormonal. I think you should cut her some slack."

"I've given her some slack" I thundered, making everybody jump "but there's only so much a man can take" I roared and Sarah's eyes went huge, while James quickly grabbed her hand and enveloped it in his, rubbing it gently and helping her to calm down.

"Fine, if that's the way you want to act," James said, losing his cool "then sit here and get drunk. I'll take care of the responsibilities and duties today, but so help me Braedon, get your head together, because I'm not going to do it for you tomorrow. You're being a coward, getting drunk down here instead of going back upstairs to talk to your mate. I never thought I would say this to you" he growled, standing up and helping Sarah to stand, putting his hand around his waist and glaring at me "but you're being an absolute prick. I'm ashamed of you right now and ashamed to be your friend. Get your bloody act together" he snapped and dragged Sarah out of the dining room before I could utter another word.

Silence. The omegas looked at me sympathetically. I growled and swept my hand across the dining table in a temper, sending plates, mugs, and glasses to the ground. They broke, shards going everywhere as the omegas gaped. "Bring me more beer" I roared and they scurried to obey, while some sank to their knees to clean up the mess I'd made. I glanced at the doorway with a dark look on my face. The next beer bottle was placed hastily in front of me by a timid-looking omega. I grabbed her around the waist and placed her on my lap, my wolf growling angrily in my mind.

"What's your name beautiful" I purred.

She wriggled uncomfortably on my lap "It's Bella Sir" she gasped as I grinned at her "Please let me go" she pleaded.

I let her go and pouted "You're no fun" I muttered, drinking the beer and glancing around the room with a leer "You know, I never realized how pretty you all are," I told them as many of them began to stiffen.

"Sir, I think that you might have reached your limit" one dared to say and I raised a hand.

"Quiet," I said sharply "Get me more beer. Keep it coming until I tell you to stop."

They remained quiet and did as I bid. I drank a lot and then got up, staggering to the front door of the pack house, looking drunk and out of it. I made it onto the grounds, bleary-eyed and hiccuping slightly. I sensed Blair's eyes on me from the window upstairs and knew James was hiding somewhere close. I began to stagger towards the forest, my steps exaggerated, holding my head. My wolf gave a low snarl.

All this had better be worth it you moron. You look like an imbecile and I can't believe some of the things you said to our mate.

Trust me, this will work. We look vulnerable and the argument was practically real. If I was a woman in this state I would be taken advantage of, so why wouldn't it work just because I'm a male?

You really are an i***t. You're a male nincompoop and one argument heard out loud is not enough for somebody to drop all their suspicions. Not unless they're really desperate or naive. Jesus. How dumb are you?

You're pushing it, Lucian. I swear...

So are you. Do you want me to prevent you from shifting as punishment? Cause I can make that happen without even breaking a sweat. Want to try me? Big bad Alpha King?

I went silent and staggered further into the forest, praying that my wolf was wrong. I didn't want to spend the next few weeks unable to shift while my wolf threw a tantrum. I groaned and bent over dry heaving. My stomach churned.

"King Braedon are you alright?" a voice asked from behind me and I fought back the grin that wanted to spread all over my face.
