measure.

"I hate you" Blair screamed, her hair flying around her shoulders, her voice carrying throughout the pack house, her voice so shrill that it pierced my eardrums, her eyes blazing with contempt, "I have half a mind to reject your sorry a*s, you scum sucking, son of a b***h" she added for good Damn, she was good. She put her hands on her hips. I could sense the confusion of pack members as they listened to our arguing, I leaned forward and sneered, my lip curling in derision "You think that just because you're my mate, that you don't have to abide by my rules or those of the pack" I demanded frostily "you put too much confidence in your status, Blair."

I paused, feeling my breath hitch, my wolf howling in my head as we cut our mate down, hating that we had to do this, even as Blair looked at me, nodding tightly for me to continue "You might be Queen Luna, but I can take that title away from you" I threatened with a roar "I am not averse to rejecting you, regardless of whether you carry my child or not" I warned her "there are plenty of other women who would be happy to do my bidding and submit to my desires."

Was I laying it on too thick?

"You pompous a*s" Blair shrieked "I am an Alpha wolf, I'm not some damn omega for you to order around. I will never be a submissive wolf-like what you claim you want. I can't believe that you feel threatened by me. You insecure bastard" she yelled, throwing a pillow at me as I blinked at her. Was it me or was she enjoying this a little too much? I eyed her suspiciously, her eyes twinkling as she motioned for me to continue.

"I have no need to be threatened by your wolf you deluded woman" I snorted, "but you refuse to submit as a Luna Queen should to her mate. You're too arrogant by half" I snarled "and I cannot bear to look at you any longer. Until you realize that you are in the wrong, I will no longer be coming to our bed chamber. I expect creating some distance might be beneficial in making you realize that you're way is not the be-all or end-all. Stubborn woman" I thundered.

"Go ahead" Blair screamed "I have no desire to sleep next to you anyway, you brutish lumberjack."

I stared at her indignantly. She smirked and blew me a kiss. I gave a low growl and stomped out of the room, slamming the door loudly behind me for good measure, apologizing slowly to Blair in my mind as I stomped downstairs, scowling darkly at anybody who so much as glanced my way. I petulantly made my way into the kitchen, slamming into a dining room chair and gesturing impatiently at an omega to fetch me breakfast, staring moodily down at the table. I looked frustrated and angry, like any hot-blooded male who had just had an argument with the woman he loved. Stella was sitting at the table with a smile on her face and was sipping calmly at her coffee, but there was no sign of Josie, I noticed with a frown. No doubt, the argument would get back to her though. James came walking in and plopped down beside me. "Want to talk about it?" he asked softly, darting a glance towards Stella and acting the part of a loyal friend.

"Talk about what?" I hissed, gulping down coffee and placing down the mug with a thud.

"Well we all heard the ahem" James coughed, as Sarah came walking in, looking a bit tentative "Argument," he said a little concerned "and if there's anything we can do to help" he suggested, Sarah coming up behind me, and giving me a quick hug before joining her mate and sitting beside him.

I shot a glance towards Stella who was listening to her every word. "I should have known better than to take her as my mate" I snarled, staring down at the plate of food that the omega quickly put in front of me, stabbing my fork into a piece of bacon and bringing it to my lips "at least when she was wolfless she was more obedient and docile" I complained.

Sarah looked at me disapprovingly "Braedon, that's unfair. Blair was always feisty and rebellious. Why are you suddenly wanting a mate that's docile and meek?" she interrupted. "Because I'm sick of the arguments" I snapped, as James glanced at his mate in warning "That's all we do lately is argue. She refuses to think she's ever in the wrong, it's exhausting." "The moon goddess made you two mates for a reason though," James said wisely "She never makes a mistake. It's just a bump in your relationship."

I snorted, gobbling up the piece of bacon and staring at the two of them "Really?" I asked coldly "Do you two argue? Constantly? Over stupid little things that shouldn't matter?" James looked hesitant. Stella was smirking from her seat. Sarah bit her lip and shot a glance at James. "Well no" she said in a low voice "we don't, generally we're too busy to argue." "Too busy" I drawled "Too busy doing what?"

Sarah blushed bright red and James's ears tinged pink. I laughed, a bitter sound, and grabbed my coffee mug, swilling it down, and then motioned to a nearby omega. "Get me a beer," I told her and her eyes widened but she nodded obediently and scurried off.

"You're too busy f*****g each other to argue," I said knowingly, nodding as my sister stared down at the floor "Well good for you, Blair hasn't slept with me in over a week because of the arguing," I said nonchalantly "and arguing is tiresome when all you want is to sleep without listening to the sound of your mate nagging you constantly."

"Don't you think it's a bit early to be drinking Braedon?" James asked concerned.

"Don't you think it's a bit early to be drinking Braedon" I repeated sarcastically "No, if anything, be grateful I didn't start drinking sooner. Christ" I complained, as the omega placed a beer in front of me "You know it takes a lot to get a shifter drunk."

I gulped down the beer. James looked at me disapprovingly. "Braedon you need your wits about you, you are the Alpha King," he said tersely.

I snorted "Maybe I don't feel like being the Alpha King today" I growled, causing James to stiffen "Maybe today I don't care about any responsibilities or doing the right thing."

"You don't mean that Braedon, you're just upset," Sarah said loyally "Why I bet that Blair is really upset right now over the argument you just had."

"Good," I said gloomily "she started the damn argument, just like she always does."

Sarah's lips flattened. "I swear I'm looking at a stranger right now," she said to James who nodded grimly.
