The Prodigy Antaris - a secret World of magic #1

Chapter 31

I knew from King Elior that the battle between good and evil had been going on for a long time. When Lilly delivered her father's message, we weren't surprised that Abbadon and Belial didn't give up. With the death of King Elior and the loss of the warriors in the final battle, Antaris was weakened and, without proper leadership, an easy victim of their eager fight against good... That's what they thought.

We were sure that they wouldn't attack us before the twins were born because they wanted the children and not an angry pregnant woman. So we had about three months to prepare to defend our home and our children.

"They could at least give us peace for a while," Devas said annoyed as he sat on the floor next to Avery to rest from training.

I watched the fighters as they trained every day, and every day there were more new warriors until the old ones were all practicing for months. Aidan and Inna were supported by Bael and Ava in education and training. Jade and Noah were also a huge support for the defense. And Lilly pushed everyone to the max as she joined Avery and Devas in defense.

"Once again!" Lilly shouted to the warriors. "You're not trying hard enough!" she shouted angrily.

Devas watched her with amusement as she practiced against about 50 fighters with only half her strength, his grin showing immense pride.

"Look at her! A few months ago she was shy and quiet. And now she is a whirlwind with wings," Devas said with a laugh.

"We are very grateful to her. She not only helped us but also encouraged and supported us... Just like you," Avery said to Devas with gratitude.

"Oh, don't get sentimental now," Devas replied while making a pouting face to annoy Avery.

But Avery was right, through Lilly we reached our limits and beyond when she showed us all what we can still learn.

I watched them practice and put their whole heart into it, while I was only a part of it. My pregnancy was already near the end and the birth of the children could start any day, so I took it easy to conserve my strength.

Everyone was very supportive and understanding of the situation we were in. The cohesion only became stronger and now that we had Lilly as a half-angel, she spread even more hope and we only felt stronger because of her.

Ever since we learned from Lilly about the Prince of Darkness' plan, we have been making plans not only to defend Antaris but also to attack it if necessary.

The attack on Antaris was supposed to result in the death of everything good and Abbadon and Belial taking the child with my abilities to replace their deceased brother. However, if none of the children have my gift, they will use it to force me to go to them to spare the children.

I spent my free time while the others were training with Baldior, Aidan's son, and Inna. I also had aunt duties to do and enjoyed the little one's company. Baldior was already trying to walk and his clumsy attitude was so funny. The love I had for my nephew was huge. At first, I was amazed at how great the love for my and Avery's children would be.

"What do you say to Avian when it becomes a boy?" Ava asked as she plopped down on the floor next to Bael as they joined us.

"I'm not naming my child after you," Avery replied before I could say anything. We all had to laugh when Devas suggested the name.

"Devasus Devus something with Dev in it," he suggested, amused to annoy Ava.

"We don't even know if it's a boy, maybe it's two girls," I said while looking at Lilly questioningly.

She smiled at me and just nodded.

"Will it be a boy?" I asked excitedly.

"One of them is a boy," Lilly replied, laughing.

Avery looked proudly at my stomach and just said, "He's definitely not going to be called Avian," which made Ava cross her arms over her chest in annoyance and playfully.

Every evening, we sat together for dinner after training. The men talked about this and that, which concerned the world of men, and we women talked about everything that concerned us.

The love and empathy that was in our friendships held us together and connected us all.

Just as I got up to get another pillow for my back, purple and red colored water flowed down my legs.

"Avery! Here we go!" Ava shouted when she saw that my water had broken and the birth of the children had begun.

The men were confused and didn't know what to do while Jade, Inna, and Lilly immediately took care of me when Ava went to get the healers. Avery was immediately at my side and took me to our room where he helped me lay down in bed. The men stayed behind us in the garden and waited for news while all the women were with me as I wished.

The pain was already great shortly after the amniotic sac broke, and so I knew that my children were ready to come into the world. The only one my powers couldn't harm was Lilly, and so she protected not only the children but also everyone else like a shield from the uncontrolled outbursts of my red aura when the contractions occurred.

We didn't know whether my aura could hurt the children because no one had my powers that we could ask. But Lilly's presence made me feel safe, and so did my children.

The birth was not planned in the mansion but in the newly built healer's station, but it seemed as if we had no time. As soon as I was in bed, I felt the need to push, and after Lilly became my midwife, our first child was born quickly.

"You have to be strong now and have confidence. I will accompany you through the birth. We are all there for you," encouraged Lilly as she got ready, and I heard my baby's cry after a painful push.

"It's a boy! A healthy boy!" Lilly exclaimed excitedly as she placed the little bundle of love in my arms.

It took one look into my boy's eyes to see that he had my gift and that his little baby eyes were surrounded by a red glow.

He looked a lot like his father and was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen.

The second baby was just born when the healer came into the room and Lilly happily announced, "A girl!" Her little hands clasped Avery's fingers, as he looked at me proudly and announced with tears in his eyes, "A healthy little girl.Beautiful like her mom."

I looked at my daughter and saw in her eyes the delicate purple circle around them. She resembled a lovely little elf.

"Elyon and Elaria," I said to Avery quietly as we held our children in our hands.

"Elyon and Elaria!" Avery repeated the names we had already decided on in advance.

Our friends were happy about the babies and congratulated us. Shortly after the birth, the healer helped me, and I felt as if I had never been pregnant or had given birth to two children a few minutes ago. My body was the same as before, I was strong and happy.

But the birth of the children and the release of my power during the birth must have awakened the attention of the dark side. They also knew that the children were born. Now it's only a matter of time before they attack us.
