The Palace Beast

Chapter 112 - Wizard’s Rage

Immediately Bonnie saw John walk into the dungeon with the countenance of a god, she quickly stood to her feet. "What's the matter?" she asked. "It's time to kill all these filthy orcs."

"Gladly." Bonnie grinned moving one and half times faster than the theoretical maximum for a human speed. She was going after the orcs.

With the speed of traveling lightning, John followed her. He moved faster like a speeding train and stormed upon the orcs charging towards the dungeon with a lightning blast. The lightning blast killed about one hundred orcs. He turned towards Bonnie who was at the orcs' quarters. She was drinking the blood of the orc she attacked. From behind her, another orc with a wooden stake wanted to stake her through the heart but John intervened by hitting the orc with a thunderbolt.

"Thanks my love," she said expressing gratitude. She quickly moved to the next orc coming after her with a wooden stake. She grabbed the orc and sank her fangs into his chest aiming for the orc's aorta, which carries blood out of the heart and is the largest blood vessel of all, up to 1 inch in diameter.

Chaos everywhere, the orcs can't contend with John's power. Blood has been spilled. Half a thousand of the orcs are on the run trying to escape John's fury. John slew half a thousand of the orcs in the fit of his rage. The other half a thousand are on the run trying not to get killed.

Bonnie who has sunk her fangs in the chest of sixty orcs wipes her mouth. She makes her way towards John. "They are fleeing, should we pursue them and slaughter them all?"

"Let them be with their fear. I have someone to find and kill." "Who?"

"Witch Neena."

"Witch Neena?"

Bonnie was pleased to hear this from John. At least she will not be jealous of Neena always showing up.

"Yes, witch Neena."

"She's an immortal, you can't kill her. The gods have tried but they failed."

Even though Bonnie was happy with John's decision to kill Neena, she sees it as impossible. Neena has lived for ages since the birth of magic and everyone who attempted killing her ended up dead.

"If I don't kill her, she will take her powers back and she assured me I won't live."

"I won't let her kill you."

"Will you help me find her so that I can end all this?"

"When has she planned to take back her powers?"

"She said during the full moon."

"Oh no! It's just a few days from now. About four or five days from today."

"Then we should go now and find her."

John's anger was meant for Neena but he has poured the anger on the orcs. He's not feeling bad about it. He enjoyed every killing as though he was killing Neena. When he slew the orcs, he pictures himself killing Neena. "I love the fact you want to stand up against this ancient witch, but do you mind telling me why? You can't risk your life trying to kill this ancient witch."

"She's the main reason why I got here mysteriously. According to what she told me, she brought me here to help win the war between the warlocks and the gods. If she brought me here, she knows how I will get back." Bonnie cast a one-eye side gaze on John and then opened her mouth to speak with curiosity. "And you want to kill her for that, yes? Then what happens to get you back to your world. You said it yourself, if she brought you here, she can take you back. Why not get her to take you back before you think of killing her. And if you are going back to your world, I'm coming with you."

"You once told me 'a witch doesn't threat in vain.' She threatened my life and there's no way I will still make her change her mind."

"Then help her win the war. When you find her, tell her you will help her with what she has asked. I truly want to see you get home and I want to be with you there." Bonnie moved closer to John and held his hand and continued, "I hate to say this, but you shouldn't kill her. Use her to get what you want first."

"My anger burns against her."

"I understand how you feel but she's the only chance you have to get home. Make her change her mind about taking back her powers and killing you. Help her win the war."

"I will think about it, but right now we need to leave this orcs' village. Let's go and find her wherever she is. I will go fetch the horses."

John turned and started heading towards a fig tree where he once saw horses. He didn't like the suggestions of Bonnie. He wants to end Neena before she ends him. He can't trust her for hiding such a secret from him. What after he helps her win the war and she still kill him? He didn't want to take his chances but to make sure he's ahead of Neena in everything. 'After all, she is vulnerable now and can be hurt. If I can get the spear I used in killing Eris, I can do her great harm,' John's thoughts were overwhelming that he delights joy in it.

On getting to the fig tree, John caught a glimpse of a gaunt-looking creature. Its desiccated skin pulled tightly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its complexion the ash-gray of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets. The creature is over fifteen feet tall, lanky, and with glowing eyes, long yellowed fangs, terrible claws, and overly long tongues.

"Fuck the hell!" John exclaimed taking some step backward.
