The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 77

Chapter 77

Feeling the warmth in his heart, Jullan said, “I’ll go to the hospital later.”

After hanging up, he approached Alexandra.

“Mr. Ranford.” Alexandra’s voice was a little hoarse since she had been asleep for too long.

Julian walked up to her and gazed at her for a while.

She now looked radiant with her eyes as bright as ever.

“Mr. Ranford, are you injured?” Alexandra looked Julian up and down with a worried look.

Julian told from her anxious and dazed look that Alexandra had lost some memory.

But he didn’t ask her about it.

He answered smilingly, “I’m fine. I’m not injured.”

“That’s great. Where… where are we now?”

“We’re back in Highclere City. This is my home.”

“I get it.” Alexandra darted a glance at the living room and remembered that Josephine had once said that Julian had a private house elsewhere.

Was the “elsewhere” here?

“So he brings me to his private house?” Alexandra thought.

Seeing Alexandra standing barefoot, he stared at her snow–white feet and said softly, “Marco will come over later. No women have lived here before, so there are no ladies‘ slippers here. I asked him to buy a new pair for you.”

“Well, thank you.”

Standing on one foot for a long time, Alexandra got a little tired. She tried putting her weight on her left foot, but a sharp pain came from her left ankle.

Alexandra swayed, and Julian hurriedly held her arm.

“Settle down on the couch first.”

“OK”

Alexandra was hopping toward the couch when she felt light and her feet were off the ground.

Julian scooped her up in his arms directly. Alexandra was so scared that she didn’t dare to move, afraid that she would fall.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Julian then took a few steps and placed her on the couch gently.

At this moment, the doorbell rang.

Julian strode to answer the door.

Alexandra was blushing scarlet and asked in her mind, “Why did he take me by the waist?

“I can hop by myself.

“He is so annoying!

“I don’t want to talk to him anymore!”

After opening the door, Julian found there was not only Marco but also Frank who wore a faint smile on his face.

Marco was wearing a business suit and tie.

And Frank changed into a black sports suit.

Standing together, they looked completely different.

“Mr. Ranford is Mrs.. Ranford awake?” Black–ringed, Marco waved the bags in his hand and asked.

Yesterday, he had been up to his eyes in work.

He had looked for Mrs. Ranford in the day and sent Jacob to the hospital at night. And Julian had asked him to buy some items early in the morning!

Julian answered coolly, “Yes”

Then, he darted a confused look at Frank and asked, “What are you doing here?”

Frank froze at the question, unwilling to admit that he was here to see what Julian was like after making love last night!

Frank replied, pretending calm, “I was worried about Mrs… Ranford, so I bought some supplements and came to visit her.”

Julian glanced at the stuff in their hands again with a deep frown on his face before asking Marco, “What about the thing I asked you to buy?”

Chapter 77

“Ah.” Marco paused and added calmly, “The wheelchairs are all sold out! I’ve contacted several hospitals but they all said wheelchairs are out of stock. I’ll buy one for Mrs. Ranford in a few days when wheelchairs arrive.”

Julian looked at Marco suspiciously but he went back to the bedroom without asking more.

Frank then whispered in Marco’s car, “Are wheelchairs so popular and scarce recently? Can’t you buy any of it?”

Marco rolled his eyes and answered, “Are you silly? You had your head hit and become slow? Isn’t Mr. Ranford’s embrace satisfactory? What’s a wheelchair for? Will Mr. Ranford bear to let Mrs.. Ranford hop around the house?”

Frank had a moment of enlightenment and nodded with a smile.

Then, he gave Marco the thumbs–up sign.

Sitting on the couch, Alexandra was surprised to see Marco and Frank.

“Hello, Marco. Hello, Frank.” Alexandra greeted them politely.

Marco stepped forward and said with a glum look at the sight of Alexandra’s swollen ankle, “Mrs… Ranford, I’m glad to see you back! I was so anxious when I couldn’t find you yesterday!”

“Sorry, Marco. I had something personal to do, so I lied to Grams and the others.” Alexandra was sorry about rendering Marco worried. She had no idea that Marco would concern about her whereabouts when she was missing.

Marco quickly waved his hand and answered, “It doesn’t matter! If I knew that you were going to meet Mr. Ranford, I would definitely not be in a hurry!”

“I was not going to see Mr. Ranford!” Alexandra immediately retorted.

Marco echoed, “Yes, I get it! You didn’t mean to meet him! It’s too much of a coincidence. The two of you met! It’s fate!”

Alexandra stole a glance at Julian, wondering if Julian would be angry at Marco’s joke.

But Marco remained impassive as if he didn’t care about it.

Even Frank could tell Julian treated Alexandra differently now. He had even arranged for the helicopter to go to Sheffield overnight.

More surprisingly, Julian had brought Alexandra to his private territory. Marco could sense that Julian had feelings for Alexandra.

And he would find it ridiculous if someone didn’t think so.

Frank then pulled Marco aside and sat down in front of Alexandra. “Mrs.. Ranford, you should have a good rest these days. Don’t walk too much.”

Frank’s kind and useful reminder relieved Alexandra a bit.

She replied with the corners of her mouth turned up, “Thank you.”

Julian, who was standing at the side, could not stand it anymore. “Why are Marco and Frank surrounding after entering the house? When do they have such a close relationship with Alexandra?”

At the thought of it, he spoke in a cold voice, “Frank, go cooking.”

Frank rose to his feet immediately. “Understood, Mr. Ranford.”

Frank then turned around and inquired Alexandra with a faint smile, “Mrs.. Ranford, what do you want to eat?”

Alexandra asked with excitement. “Do you know how to cook?”

Marco chimed in, “Mrs.. Ranford, Frank really does well in cooking! If he were not so smart and good at Mansion’s chef now!”

Frank would probably be Ranford

Alexandra burst into laughter and said, “Amazing! I want to eat fish. And anything else is OK”

“Got it, Mrs. Ranford.”

Knowing what to cook, Frank took off his coat and made his way to the kitchen.

Julian felt that he was being ignored. “Shouldn’t Frank ask me what I want to eat first?”

As Julian was lost in thought, Frank poked his head out of the kitchen and asked, “Mr. Ranford, what about you?”

Julian glanced at him and replied in a steely tone, “Whatever!”

“Okay, Mr. Ranford”

Marco could hardly fight the urge to laugh.

Julian then darted a cold stare at Marco. Marco swiftly got up from the couch, walked to the side of the coffee table, and opened the bags. “Mrs… Ranford, these are the slippers and clothes I bought for you. I don’t know what skincare products you like, so I purchased the most expensive ones. And here are the latest imported snacks and chocolates. If you need anything else, just tell me!”

Alexandra looked dazedly at the pile of things. “They are probably expensive, aren’t they?”

“All the bags have the logo of Jolie Center Mall on them.”

Chapter 77

She still remembered that the last time she bought a small bag there and instantly lost 576 thousand dollars.

Since then, she had avoided setting foot on Jolie Center Mall.

“Thank you, Marco. Did you buy all of these things from Jolie Center Mall? They must have cost a great amount of money, right?” Alexandra looked regretful and concerned.

“You’re welcome! All of these were paid for by Mr. Ranford! Mrs… Ranford, you don’t have to worry about the cost. Jolie Center Mall is our…”

Catching sight of Julian’s other glare, Marco quickly excused himself. “Mr. Ranford, I’ll go to help Frank with cooking!”

After Frank and Marco left, the lively living room fell into silence again.

Alexandra turned to Julian and said, “Mr. Ranford, Marco and Frank always call me Mrs.. Ranford. Please let them call me Alexandra.”
