Chapter 76
Chapter 76
He put the binoculars down, a smile appearing on his fair face.
Beside his thin lips, there was a mole as large as a grain of rice. He said coolly, “Little girl is still so excellent! Heh!”
After driving on the highway, Fank sped up to 200 km/h.
He didn’t forget to comfort Julian. “Mr. Ranford, we will arrive at the hospital soon. Mistress Alexandra will be fine. Don’t worry.”
Julian fixed his eyes on Alexandra in his arms and his face darkened.
This was the second time.
He had hurt her badly two times.
He had no interest in figuring out why Alexandra owned such wonderful marksmanship. He just wanted Alexandra to be safe and sound.
He just wanted Alexandra to be well.
Frank, in the driver’s seat, finally understood why Mr. Ranford had asked him to investigate Alexandra in his spare time last time. The petite and adorable Mrs.. Ranford could actually save Julian’s and his life at such a critical moment. She was probably not that simple.
But now, like Julian, Frank only thought of reaching the hospital as soon as possible.
Hall an hour later, the car stopped at Sheffield Hospital.
Before arriving at the hospital, both Frank and Julian had changed their clothes covered in blood. Frank rushed straight to the emergency room to register while Julian carried Alexandra out of the
After handing the unconscious Alexandra to the doctor, Julian finally heaved a sigh of relief.
It had only been a few days, but he had already experienced the feeling of being heartbroken.
Frank strode inside and saw Julian standing motionless in the corridor.
ecar
Frank broke the silence. “Mr. Ranford, we’ve missed the flight. Our people arrived and escorted Jacob back to Highclere City. I’ve called Marco. He will get everything prepared and pick Jacob up. Jacob will be arranged to receive treatment at Mount Victoria Hospital.”
“Yes.” Julian turned around and looked Frank up and down. “Are you hurt?”
Frank said, “It’s just a scratch, not a big deal. Mr. Ranford, what about you?”
“I’m fine.”
Actually, he was hurt. He didn’t bleed, but he was more or less painful.
However, he was reluctant to waste time checking his body. All he wanted to do was to wait for Alexandra to wake up safely.
Julian then said sternly to Frank, “Keep what happened tonight secret.”
Although Julian didn’t say it explicitly, Frank knew Julian meant that Alexandra was such a good shot that she had shot seven people tonight.
Frank lowered his head and responded with a determined look, “Don’t worry, Mr. Ranford. I know what to do.”
“OK,” replied Julian in a steely tone.
More than an hour later, Alexandra felt better.
She no longer broke out in cold sweats.
The expedited X–ray showed that she severely sprained her left ankle and broke some bones. There were no other injuries.
The nurse treated Alexandra’s injured ankle and bandaged it.
And then, Julian brought Alexandra out of the hospital.
Chapter 76
He couldn’t wait to bring Alexandra back to Highclere City. Only then would he be at ease, because Highclere City was his territory. The private helicopter was already waiting for them.
While Alexandra had been having an intravenous drip in the hospital, Julian had arranged for the Ranford family’s helicopter to pick
them up.
He was too annoyed to stay in Sheffield anymore.
Now that he had found Jacob, he didn’t need to worry that the people hiding in the dark would cause trouble again.
Alexandra was still unconscious when Julian scooped her up onto the helicopter.
Frank helped them with their luggage before saying goodbye to Frank.
Julian turned and said to Frank, “See you tomorrow.”
Frank nodded. “See you in Highclere City tomorrow, Mr. Ranford.”
Then, Frank swirled around and made his way to his beloved SUV.
Frank did not go back to Highclere City with them by helicopter. Instead, he drove back to Highclere City overnight.
He would probably arrive in Highclere City at dawn the next day.
An hour later, the helicopter landed on the Ranford family’s tarmac in Highclere City.
It was located in the eastern suburbs of Highclere City.
Marco had already waited for them there in his car. He had no idea what had happened in Sheffield, but he had a bad feeling about
it
Seeing Julian carrying the insensible Alexandra out of the helicopter and Alexandra’s ankle wrapped in gauze, Marco was helpless with anxiety and confusion. “Mr. Ranford, what happened? What’s wrong with Mrs.. Ranford?”
Julian wore an impassive look and did not reply.
After getting into the car, Marco asked, “Mr. Ranford, are we going to the Ranford Mansion?”
“No, go to Tropical Lagoon Residences.”
Marco paused for a moment before nodding. “Yes, Mr. Ranford!”
Tropical Lagoon Residences were a villa area as well. It was one of Julian’s private houses.
He would go back to stay there occasionally, especially when he was in a bad mood and under too much pressure.
Marco knew Tropical Lagoon Residences which was regarded as Julian’s private territory. Even Marco had only seen the villa outside the door and had never entered it.
“Tsk, tsk tsk!
“It is already so late. Mr. Marco probably wants to spend a wonderful night with Mrs.. Ranford in his private territory, doesn’t he?”
Thinking of it, Marco was filled with excitement!
He couldn’t wait to tell Frank the good news!
However, he managed to calm down and focused on driving.
Marco sent them to Tropical Lagoon Residences and made his exit.
Julian opened the door and placed Alexandra on the bed in the bedroom gently.
Alexandra had no sign of waking up at all. Although her temperature had dropped a little, she had not fully recovered yet.
Fortunately, she was having a sound sleep at present.
It was as if she was exhausted.
Jukan strode to the bathroom and dipped a towel in water before wiping Alexandra’s face and hands.
Then, he entered the bathroom to take a shower and threw all his dirty clothes into the trash can.
Chapter 76
Having finished the shower, he came out in his pajamas. Alexandra was still in a deep and peaceful slumber.
Julian stood firmly in front of the bed and gazed at Alexandra for a while.
Looking at her abnormally pale face, he was anxious and worried.
After hesitating for a long time, he climbed into bed, lifted the quilt, and lay down beside Alexandra.
At this moment, Alexandra turned over and her head brushed against his chin.
light.
Strangely, a warmth flowed in Julian’s heart. He tucked her in and turned off the light.
Finally, he reached out to wrap Alexandra’s waist and fell asleep.
The next day, when Alexandra woke up, she was alone in bed.
Dizzy, Alexandra struggled to open her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a long time, having no idea where she was.
It wasn’t the yellowing ceiling of the house in Sheffield, nor was it Ranford Mansion’s ceiling.
She rubbed her eyes and sat up.
And then, she looked around, only to find that she was in a bedroom she didn’t recognize.
The room was spacious and grayish–white. And Alexandra thought the decor and the furniture of the room were familiar.
The balcony window was open, and the breeze was stirring the white curtains.
Alexandra threw back the covers. As she moved slightly, she felt a sharp pain in her left ankle.
Only then did she notice that her left ankle was wrapped in gauze.
The pain refreshed her a little. She only remembered that she had fallen last night, and then someone had raised a gun and
ambushed Julian.
Julian? Was he alright?
Where was he?
Alexandra looked like a cat on hot bricks, enduring the pain and scrambling out of the bed.
Her shoes were nowhere to be found, so she stepped barefoot on the soft white carpet.
Unable to move her left ankle, Alexandra hopped out on one foot.
She opened the bedroom door and heard a low voice.
After jumping into the living room, she saw a familiar figure making a call when facing the window.
She then figured out Julian’s usual attire: a white shirt, black pants, and a pair of home slippers..
He was safe.
The thought took a load off Alexandra’s mind.
Julian heard the sound and turned around with his phone in his hand.
He saw Alexandra standing there on one leg, her face filled with confusion and shock.
