Kade POV
I locked the door behind us so Harlow would bolt and go after Gabbie.
“Let me out, Kade.” Harlow crossed her arms.
“Not until you accept Gabbie’s my mate now. You can have any guy who you want from any pack.”
“I don’t want any pack, Kade! We had a damn agreement.”
“It’s off. Don’t you get it? We’re fated mates.”
“Fated to an omega Kade. You know what your Dad thinks about it.”
“I don’t care.” My fist connected with the locker in the gym changing room.
“You should because if it’s not me it’s someone else from Sanders. No one will ever accept her and you
know it.”
“Fine. They don’t accept her they don’t accept me.”
Her eyes widened. “You’re kidding.”
I unlocked the door. “I’m not. Lay one hand on her and you’ll regret it.”
“What are you going to do Kade? Hit me? I know you like it rough. Has Gabbie discovered that side of you?”
I sucked in a sharp breath and looked away. Harlow laughed.
“The little cunt has no idea what she’s doing.
“Don’t cross me Harlow unless you want to find out what it’s like to be an omega.”
“Ex–excuse me?” She scoffed.
“You know I can. I hold a higher rank than your reigning Alpha.”
“Fuck you, Kade.”
“Don’t touch her and we’ll be good.”
I walked out without waiting for a response. Harlow’s wolf was too strong to demote but I could get all her privileges taken away. I might have done more harm than good with the threat. When I returned to the cafeteria everyone had cleared out. The makeshift omega cafeteria was empty.

I ran to the castle everyone was heading to their classes. I knew her schedule by heart. She had medicine right now I caught Fmery before she disanneared into the classroom

“Emery,” I called.
Her body rattled to a halt. She brought her hands to her chest and stared at me as if I was going to eat her..
“Where’s Gabbie?”
“I–I don’t know. She left after you went away with Harlow.”
“Damn it. Was she mad?”
Emery shook her head, “She looked shaken. I think that’s why she left.”
The problem of having a mate without a wolf meant I couldn’t use our bond to sense her emotions. If she was scared I wanted to assure her that everything would be fine. I believed she would be safer here than alone in her pack. I didn’t want her to regret coming with me.
“What the hell,” I muttered. My wolf lifted his head I willed him to look for our mate. It looked like a pointless mission but I felt her presence in the
castle.
Her heart rate was fast and my jealousy rose in my wolf which could only mean one thing.
I kicked the door in. Gabbie gasped in the arms of her best friend. Jealousy and rage mixed to form an atomic bomb. I’d fucking kill him. Down the stairs, in a few seconds, I ripped him away from my mate. My fucking mate!
“Get your hands off her.”
Gabbie snatched my arm. “Stop.”
“Get off.”
“I’m sorry.” Her eyes pleaded with me. I shook my head. I saw her encased in his arms about to fucking
kiss him.
I didn’t see Alex get up. Hi

“What the fuck is this Gabbie?” Alex demanded.

“What What have you done to her?”
He pushed Gabbie aside. I blocked his punch before it could connect with my head. My fist connected. with his forehead. I grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

“Tell me the truth, Gabbie. Now!”
“Kade’s my mate. I knew you would be mad that’s why I didn’t tell you.”
“How would you know that? You don’t have a wolf.” He spat.
I tightened my hold on his collar. “I know and I wouldn’t lie to her.”
“Fuck you, Sanders. You hate wolves like her.”
I slammed him against the wall again. “She’s mine, Henry. Next time you touch her-”
“Kade please!”
Tears rolled down her cheeks. My wolf was on the edge of my skin, prepared to rip Alex apart. Her trembling hand gripped my shoulder.
“Please don’t fight. I didn’t want this. I tried to tell him I felt you…. and it hurt. I didn’t feel good so Alex helped me up he might have tried to kiss me but I didn’t come down here to do that.”
One more smash against the wall and I let him go. “You should have told him a long time ago.”
“I know,” she sobbed..
I turned away. I hated seeing her cry.
“I’m sorry okay?”
“We’ll talk about it later,” I mumbled.
She plastered me on my chest and squeezed. I patted her back. It might have been enough to appease
my wolf but I was still pissed. I wanted any trace of Alex off of her right now.
“You’re fucked up if you think I’ll let this happen,” Alex said dusting himself off.
“What?” Gabbie asked. “He’s my fated mate Alex.”
Alex shook his head. Where was he going with this?
“He can’t have you.”
“Well, I won’t reject him.”
“I have a rite as Alpha to have an omega of my choice
Oh, fuck him. My arm went around Gabbie’s chest instinctively.
“You better shut up Henry.”
“I pick you, Gabbie.”

“It’s an Alpha rite.”
Gabbie turned to me. “Tell me he’s joking. Kade, tell me he’s joking.”
He looked at her with fire. Alex was serious. I knew the rite and I knew the omega in question had to power to change the decision. No one did expect the Alpha himself.
“I won’t be your slut so you can forget it,” Gabbie blasted.
Alex looked away for a second before resting back on her. “Let’s go.”
“Alex, no. Find another bitch.”
“You know Leiah won’t be happy about this,” I said tightening my hold on Gabbie.
Alex shrugged, “Don’t care. There’s nothing she can do about it”
Gabbie kept her defiant tone. She pressed her back against my front and raised her head. “You’ll have. to drag me out kicking and screaming. I’m not going with you.”
Alex took a step. It took everything not to let my wolf out and rip him to shreds.
“You’ll be in my bed tonight whether you like it or not. Understood?”
“Let’s go, Kade, please.”
She grabbed my shirt and rattled me but I couldn’t rip my gaze from the bastard in front of me. This was war. He came for me that was fine but my mate? He was asking to die.
“Kade!”
I draped my arm around her shoulder and turned her to the stairs.
“She’ll be with me before the sunsets Kade.”
I led her out with the thought of losing her in the back of my mind. Why didn’t I think of it before? It wasn’t a rule that was spoken about often in the Sanders pack. The fear on her face broke something in me. I’d be damned if I left Alex to touch her. He could have any omega in the quarters but not Gabbie. We got outside and my wolf threatened to break through.
I put my arms under her knees and her arms and pulled her to my chest.
“Kade?”
“We’re going to the Moon Cave.”
