Cole grabbed my arm and ripped the cap from my head then tossed it ten feet away.

“You are! I’m trying to talk to you.”

I glanced around, hoping no one noticed what was going on. I wanted to disappear. Some heads turned and caught the scene. I tugged on my arm, but Cole’s grip was tight.

He pulled me close and pressed his palm on the small of my back. I couldn’t believe I thought this guy could be my mate. L lifted my knee and jammed it into his crotch. Cole cursed and beckled.
I scurried as far away from him as possible. I had a couple more words for him, but decided I needed to escape more. I saw the back of Alex’s head in front of the cafeteria talking to Gareth and I assumed another Alpha. No Kade in sight
I rushed to get to him before he entered the Alpha cafeteria.
“Alex.” I breathed out..
“That’s Alpha Alex.”

Gareth chuckled while the other guy walked into the cafeteria.
“Trouble with your omega? Has she been denying you quality bed time? I’d be pissed to.”

Gareth raised his hands and walked inside.
“I wanted to talk. Is that okay?” I rubbed my shoulders.
“It isn’t. The only time omegas get to address their Alphas is when they schedule a meeting.”

I stepped back. What had gotten into him? He didn’t sound like my best friend. His eyes didn’t feel the same.

He grabbed my arm and dragged me away from the cafeteria, but that didn’t stop eyes from following us. Especially two specific alpha females one with frightening white hair who I was hoping to avoid for the rest of my life.

Alex looked around and noticed all the eyes on us. Alex and I never fought before not like this.

I walked away with a shattered heart. I lost my best friend. Alex was just like every other shifter at this damn academy. I lost him to the crowd. At least his mate was happy I wouldn’t be spending time with Alex anymore.

I tightened my hold around my legs and buried my chin between my knees.
“Been avoiding me?” Kade asked.
“Why would I do that?” I murmured.
“It’s not like you’re hiding in a cave.”
I sighed, “I’m avoiding everyone else. How did you find me?”

My cheeks flamed at the thought of him calling me his mate. Gosh, no one would ever believe this. I wanted to tell my mom I found a mate even without a wolf. If only I hadn’t lost my phone. She hadn’t responded to my letter either, Kade settled next to me and pulled me to his chest. I didn’t know if he could how upset I was, but he was doing the right thing

I placed my hand on his chest. I could feel his beating heart. Maybe I was insane but the rhythm matched mine. Was that Crazy!

My almost tear stained eyes went wide and a small gasp escaped my lips. I scrambled out of Kade’s arms and got to my feet. Kade sighed and stood too. He stopped me from pacing and held me in place. No, I needed to pace maybe my head would start functioning.
“You can’t do that! Have you forgotten what Harlow did? She’s going to be embarrassed and she’s going to take it out on me.

Kade cupped my cheeks and pressed his lips against mine. The iss was slow. I tasted the mint in his breath and savoured the softest of his lips. I couldn’t fight him I wanted more. Our lips danced slowly and tenderly until we parted for breath.

He kissed me again with the same tender passion. A thousand sparks ran up my spine.

Kade let out a shaky breath and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
