I woke up in my bed wearing his shirt. I couldn’t recall when Kade broke into the omega quarters and tucked me in. The girls were getting ready around me yet I couldn’t help feeling like I was in an empty room. At least I had his shirt to remind me of his scent. I fisted the front and brought it to my nose.
“Hey, aren’t you getting up?” Blair asked,
“Why?” I asked, pulling my blanket closer to me. I didn’t want to explain why I was wearing Kade’s shirt.
“I suggest you not go to breakfast,” Emery said as she pulled a purple t–shirt over her head.
“It’s not Turkey soup again is it?”
Emery and Blair shared a burrow knitted stare.
“What is it guys?”
I stayed laying down or else they would see Kade’s shirt.
“Everyone talking about you and Cole Emery hissed.
“What about us?” I sat up, clutching the blanket around myself,

I was too busy trying not to get killed by two Alpha females.
“Really? Why would Cole lie?” Emery asked.
“It’s obvious Emery. He’s the talk of the school. He did it for fame.”
“And to win a dumb bet. If Cole was the talk of the school, then so was 1.
“Don’t worry Gabbie. He’ll get a healthy dump of goat stew on his pretty head.”
“Forget it, Emery. I guess I am missing breakfast”
“That isn’t fair. Wolves fuck here all the time why should it be any different if you do it? Blair said.
Because I was the troublesome omega. Now I added slut to my CV.
“I just want to sleep,” I said, not bothering to answer Blair.
“You sure you don’t want some food?” Blair asked.
I shook my head. The girls walked out of the room, leaving me alone. Half an hour later I’d showered and gotten dressed. I needed to face the music sooner or later. It was a Saturday so I could expect all the omega to be roaming around.
I wore a pair of loose pants and a tight top. I let my hair run down my back and jumped back into bed. That was when I heard voices coming from the corridor.
“Alpha Alex, what are you doing here?”
“Where is she?”

I bolted out of bed just as Alex stormed into the bedroom. Blair appeared behind him holding a container of food. I was too busy burning under Alex’s glare to be touched that Blair thought to bring me something to eat.
“What’s wrong!”
“How could you?” He blasted before I could finish my sentence.
Blair and I flinched.
“It’s okay Blair. I’ll be fine.”
She gripped the container tighter. “You sure?”
“Get Out.” He ordered.
Blair tore her eyes away from me and then vanished into the corridor. I didn’t believe Alex would hurt me, but he was mad. as hell. He slammed the door shut.
“Alex-”
“Shut up Gabbie. I don’t want to hear it
Then why are you here? Why are you so mad?”
He marched toward me, his arm stretched out, pointing at the door.
“You really slept with that guy? You had the guts to fuck him behind the school castle grounds!”
Blood rushed out of my face.
“I thought you were better than that. Has he asked you to be his mate?”
Cole said we did what?
“Answer me, Gabbie.” He barked.
“No, no none of that is true. Alex, I’ve never slept with anyone much less Cole.”
“Then why the hell would he tell everyone how much of a sloppy fuck you are.”
I fisted my hair and marched to my bed like a robot. The words he said penetrated my head like shards of broken glass. I didn’t get to my bed because Alex yanked me to his chest, his grip so tight I thought he would snap my bone like a twig
“It isn’t true. I swear.” My voice cracked.
He glared into my eyes for what felt like hours. His grip on me loosened.
“He lied… I heard him talking..” I couldn’t tell Alex about what his mate did to me. I didn’t want her coming after me for snitching. I wanted to keep Leish and her friends as far away from me as possible.
“He said it was all a bet…”
In an instant, Alex had my cheeks between his palms. I stumbled forward and our faces were inches away from each other. His lips were a millisecond away. Merely inches of his soft lips grazed mine. In another instant, he created an abyss between

“Alex”
“No Gabbie.” He barked and yanked the door open.
“Alex, wait?” 1 willed my legs to move, but it was too late. Alex had stormed out of the dorm room.
“Alex”
Blair hurried in and closed the door. She gripped the container so tight I thought it was going to burst open and spill food everywhere.
“What was that about?” She hissed.
- T have no idea.”
“Come on Cabbie. He was furious. You had to have understood something.”
I couldn’t quite process the part where Alex almost kissed me. I fought the urge to touch my lips in front of Blair.
“It was about Cole. He was fuming you know how he can be.”
“He didn’t Believe Cole, did he?”
“I have no idea what to believe in myself at this point.”
Blair shoved the food at me. “You should cat, apparently there’s a rally at school.”
1 groaned. “But it’s Saturday.”
“I know” She left.
I didn’t feel like eating. I couldn’t stop replaying the moment Alex had my cheeks in his hands and in a fraction of a second he almost kissed me. Kade’s shirt stuck out from under my pillow. My mate and best friend hated each other and now my best friend almost kissed me.

At least we didn’t have to wear uniforms. I stuffed my strawberry hair under a black baseball cap. It didn’t do much to hide me. I tried not to stand up front or right at the back of the line. wedged myself between bodies to hide better. After this, it was a race back to the omega quarters.
Head Mistress Athena and her colleagues stood in front of the school with the Alphas standing behind them. Gareth stood between Kade and Alex. My heart skipped a beat. Kade looked so serious it made me want to snicker. His blue eyes scanned the crowd. Was he looking for me? Then there was Alex. Face rock hard, shoulders rolled back. Rage just rolled off him and I just wanted to run and hide.
“There’s been a change of plans regarding the academy trip. There will be a trip to Ester Mountain instead. The rejuvenating powers up there are ideal for all those taking part in battle season…”
The rest of Athena’s words faded in the background. All I could focus on was the Alpha in the back row, Gareth whispered. something to him and Kade’s face brightened as he laughed. The corners of my mouth lifted. That had to be the most beautiful thing on the surface of the earth.
This trip is mandatory. No one is being left behind and if anyone is found on base there will be severe punishment. Dismissed.”

I shoved through bodies and tripped on my feet. I moved in the direction of the castle. Apparently, I couldn’t move fast enough because the dick face grabbed my arm.
“Let me go!”
Cole raised his hands. “Listen-”
“You listen, unless you want a black eye I suggest you leave me the hell alone.”
He laughed sofily, “You wouldn’t dare.”
