Chapter 21
Chapter 21
1 let my guard down. I blamed my wolf. He couldn’t stay away from her. I arrived at the castle and found the guys training. People were taking battle season seriously. I should be too, but I had an omega on my mind. We had only been apart for thirty minutes, but I wanted to break into the omega quarters and steal her for another session by the lake. Now that I had a feel of her I wouldn’t be able to keep myself at bay,
“Hey, mind if I join?” I asked.
“Sure, I’d love to kick your ass,” Gareth said.
“I’m in a mood Gareth. I wouldn’t
in a
expect that”
“Anger clouds judgement Kade,” Gareth smirked
It wasn’t rage. It was sexual frustration.
I didn’t feel like changing into a uniform. I grabbed a staff from Paul.
“This should be good One of the guys said.
“Oh, it will” Gareth was cocky. It was the reason I didn’t take him seriously as an opponent.
“Kade? Someone bellowed my name.
What?!” I barked
The staff collided with the back of my head. “Dude what the fuck
“Kade!”
Eva ran up
ran up to n
- me. Her face was flushed and it looked like she had been crying looked at Gareth who was equally as confused. Wasn’t she supposed to be running to Gareth if she was upset?
“Uh.. don’t you mean Gareth?”
“No!” She grabbed the staff from me and hit my arm. “Darrin, what’s with you two?“:
“We were about to fight anyway I have no idea what she’s on about “Gareth said
“It’s Harlow. they’re in the woods and you have to fix this?”
“Fix what I can barely understand you, What’s Harlow done
Then I realized I left Gabbie by the lake. Harlow couldn’t have found her. I told Gabbie to go home
“Probably a stupid fight. Let the girls fix their own problems.” Gareth said
“Shut up Gareth,” Eva said, pushing ten thousand bolts of alpha power at Gareth
He flew and landed on his back on the blue mat. I’d never seen so much power come from one person before and Eva was still standing
“Harlow’s got Gabbie comered in the woods. You have to stop this.” Eva said.
“Let’s go.

Chapter 21
Gabbie bled through her nose and had a cut on the side of her head. My wolf howled at how broken she was. Even though she was down she still tried to crawl to safety. This was my fault,
“You should have kept your head down just like every other little dud.” Harlow dug her heel into Gabbie’s back. Tears rolled down my mate’s cheeks. That was enough to spring me into action.
I carried Harlow off Gabbie and sent her tumbling into her friend. They both fell. Leiah broke Harlow’s fall.
“Gabbie.
“Don’t touch me.”
–
“I’m sorry.”
“You! You bitch!” Harlow’s eyes narrowed on Eva.
Eva looked away.
Despite her little resistance. I picked Gabbie up and held her to my chest.
“I’m so sorry.” I told her.
“You’re not going to hide your lover! I should have killed you sooner.”
“You won’t ever touch her Harlow!”
You won’t stop me, Kade.” She bolted off the ground and faced me within a second.
“You lay another finger on Gabbie, Harlow you’ll live to regret it
I saw her swallow. “Is she that good in bed?”
“It’s not about that. Harlow, I’m sure you’ve noticed something different about yourself.”
I had to confront this.
“Shut up.”
“Your mark-”
I said shut
up
Kade.”
“What are you saying? Harlow isn’t your mate anymore?” Leiah asked, brushing dust of her dress.
“Shut up! That isn’t true. My mark’s gone, but that doesn’t change anything”
I pulled Gabbie closer. Her eyes were shut. I needed to get her to the moon cave.
“It changes everything.”
I turned to leave but Harlow appeared in front of me.
“Move Harlow, or I’ll make you.”
“She’s going to die. I won’t let you have her.” She whispered the last part.
My wolf flashed in my eyes before I could bear any teeth Harlow went flying into the dirt. I looked at Eva.
“Get her out of here. I’ll handle the girls.

Chapter 21
–“Thanks, Eva”
1 pulled her shirt off. It was ripped and covered in blood.
“Kade” She murmured.
“Stay with me, babe
I pulled down her skirt. This wasn’t the way I envisioned undressing her for the first time.
“Come on Gabbie, keep your eyes open.”
“It hurts.” Her voice was small and pained.
I pulled off my shirt and kicked off my jeans. “Don’t go to sleep
I kissed her forehead. I brought her into my arms again. I lowered us into the moon pool. The healing powers would save her. I couldn’t lose her. I couldn’t lose my mate. I sunk into the pool with her. The water rose up to her neck, but Gabbie struggled to keep her eyes open.
“You know I like to bike. I’ve got a tech company back home. Most times I want to be there than here. It’s different now that I’ve met you. I suck at guitar playing, but I still play despite what everyone says. I can cook for myself I’d love to cook for you, babe. You have to get better. I swear after this no one’s ever going to touch you and live.” I pressed my lips on the side of her head. “I’m so sorry.”
She hadn’t moved which made my heart pound.
“Gabbie? Gabriella?”
You play the guitar?” She coughed.
I groaned and pulled her closer. “I suck at it.”
“At least I know you’re not just a hot head”
“I’m sorry. I’m the reason you almost got killed. She won’t ever touch you again. I’ll make sure of it.
“It is your fault. Why couldn’t you leave me alone? Your mate wouldn’t have come after me if you hadn’t pursued me. How many other girls has she gotten rid of because you wanted to cheat?”
“I’ve never cheated.”
“Then why me? I don’t understand.” She sobbed.
I turned her so she was looking at me with those big beautiful green eyes of hers. I brushed the tears off her face and she shook her head in retaliation.
“Harlow isn’t my mate anymore.”
“How’s that possible?”
I lifted a shoulder. “The moon goddess took her mark away and was given a fated mate.”
She blinked a couple of times. I caressed her cheek.
“You really don’t get it, Cabbie?!”
Chapter 21
“Of course I do. I’m nordumb” Her voice echoed in the cave.
“Good to see you’re feeling better.”
She leaned against my chest. I put my chin on top of her head. This was where I wanted to be for the rest of the night.
“Barely. I have cuts everywhere.”
“The water’s going to heal you.”
“Is that the reason you’ve been… you know?”
I chuckled and ran my hand down her back. “I actually like you, omega.”
She puffed out her cheeks. “Yeah right. Don’t Sanders wolves hate omegas?”
“I like you. Ever since you decided to kick Baxter’s ass, you did it again.”
“Right. I did. What happens now?”
1 cupped her cheeks. “We’ll deal with that later. Let’s start with this.”
I pulled her in for a kiss. It felt better kissing her when she knew she was mine. I couldn’t believe Cole said she wasn’t a good kisser. She was fucking amazing. I could have been biased, but I didn’t care. I wanted to kiss her all the time.
“You’re so beautiful, Gabbie.”
Her cheeks turned pink and I smirked. “I meant it when I said not to kiss anyone.”
She sighed and snuggled into me. I took that as a yes.
