The sun had turned the sky orange. I was curled into a ball on Kade’s side. He had just travelled to unexplored territory and neither of us said a thing. We were perfectly content with the silence. Then he pulled his arm from around me and sat up. He stared out at the water for a couple of seconds before he stood
“Kade.” I said.
I couldn’t believe what just happened. Had I let my guard down or had he? Did I let Kade do things to me no one had? Yes, Did I like it? More than I was willing to admit. I tried to convince myself it was because Cole had just shattered me but the truth was something different. Now I waited with a thundering heart and an anxious body to see if this was one cruel joke or
not.
He kept his back on me. I didn’t think he would respond. I expected him to walk away and leave me feeling used.
“Yeah?” He arched his brow at me.
“I’m not a good kisser.” I had to come up with something to say and I couldn’t believe I said that
He chuckled, “Why would you say that?” He reached out and brushed his knuckles against my cheek.
“Cole…” my body trembled just by saying his name.

“What?”
He lowered himself to my level and captured my lips. He dragged on my bottom lip and used his tongue to explore them both. I tried to contain myself from staring at him in shock but some of my surprise might have shone through.
“Next time don’t kiss anyone else.” His blue eyes held warning. Then he stood. “I’ve got to go. The omega quarters aren’t far from here. Can you make it on your own?”
“Yeah. I can take care of myself.”

I watched him leave. I pulled my knees up to my chin. I had a lot to think about and I wasn’t ready to go
back to the omega quarters and face Cole. All his friends knew and they had been laughing at me this entire time. I wanted to strangle him. though the best I could do was not let him win the best. He would the same old loser he was before I came along. That lifted my spirits.
It was getting dark so I decided to drag myself home. I let out a shaky breath. It was going to be okay I just had to stay away from guys for a while. I needed to tell Kade that.
“Going somewhere Omega?” That voice froze me in my tracks. The laughter that followed made my blood freeze.
“Harlow? Leiah. what are you guys doing here?”
Harlow shoved me and I landed up slammed against a tree.
“I should be asking you! You slut.”

Harlow was at the forefront of this one. Leiah leaned against a tree fiddling with her nails. Eva just watched the scene like a
hawk.
“You were with a wolf out here and we know it wasn’t that other omega” Leiah said.
“Just leave me alone alright?” The attempt I made to walk passed Harlow rewarded me with another shove to the tree.
“You should have run when you had the chance. You don’t belong here. You’re not a wolf you’re a wannabe. You can’t just come here and take what’s mine!” Her entire body shook as she yelled.
“I haven’t taken anything. My voice cracked.
1 was surrounded by three alpha females. My chances for escape were slim.
“No!” Harlow yelled. “I know you’ve been with Kade!”
I slipped down the tree bark.
“Here I was thinking I should be cautious about you with my male. All the while you had your hands in someone else’s pot.”
Leiah smiled.
“I won’t let you humiliate me.” Harlow growled.
“Humiliate? What do you know about being humiliated?”
“Shut up!”
“That’s all you’ve done to me since I got here.”
“I said shut up.” Her palm struck my cheek.
I gasped and held my face. I hit her back and she transformed into a huge beast that I could not outrun.
“What do you want?” I spat. “I didn’t go after Kade! He chased me. Take it up with him.”
“No, it’s easier to make you disappear” Harlow tilted her head and grinned.
She grabbed my shoulders and slammed me to the ground. A boot to my back and I knew it was Leiah.
“Wait! We didn’t agree to this.” Eva cried.
“Who cares? No one’s going to notice one missing omega.” Leiah laughed.
I tried to get up which landed me a heel to the shoulder blade.
“Harlow, you know guys go after the omegas all the time. You don’t have to kill her.” Eva pleaded.
Just because you’re comfortable with your mate screwing every girl in the school doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate it.”
I grabbed a fist full of dirt and flung it at Leiah’s eyes. She screarsed and backed out. It was a two–second gap that I used to bolt out of there. Harlow grabbed my wrist and threw me at a log
“Oh, shit.” Blood streamed down my nose.
“Leiah! Alex’s going to hate you.” Eva yelled.

Eva pouted at me. I looked away.
“I can’t watch.” She said and darted into the trees.
Leiah and Harlow surrounded me. I wouldn’t go down without a fight.
