<DANI AND ELLIE HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED! SHE JUST LINKED ME WHERE THEY ARE BEING HELD. DAD>

<WHAT THE FUCK? EVERY AVAILABLE WARRIOR REPORT TO THE FRONT OF THE PACK HOUSE NOW! ME>

<WE LEAVE IN TEN MINUTES TO RESCUE DANI AND ELLIE. ME>

<YES, ALPHA. EVERYONE>

What the hell is going on? I tell dad to meet me now and he says that he is already on his way. Ino, Mauku, and Kekipi follow me. As we step out onto the porch of the pack house Dad is already there waiting. He told us everything that Dani had told us. We have no idea that they were even coming back this soon. I knew their classes had just ended and they were done with finals, but they never mentioned coming back.

“They wanted it to be a surprise.” Dad told us.

“Well it is certainly a surprise, but probably not the kind of surprise they were hoping for.” I comment.

We stand there as warriors start gathering around. I explain what has happened and what needs to be done. Everyone starts to shift. It will be faster in our wolf forms than driving. I can feel our family bond with Dani so we use that as GPS. Dad and I are in the lead. I would have told him to stay here, but this is his little princess and I knew there was no way that he would stay behind. As we get closer to the location I notice that the light seems to be fading. Which is strange since it is mid afternoon. We should still have at least five or six more hours of sunlight. There is a weird electricity in the air and I swear that I can hear whispering all around me.

<Shift before you all show up. The other girls with us are human and would freak the fuck out. Dani>

<Okay, noted, are you and the others safe? Me>

<Yes, but a few of the girls have injuries and will need medical care. Ellie>

<Okay, I will need either you or Ellie to show us where the house is. I used our family bond to lead us to you. Me>

<No problem, hurry I am not sure how long she can hold them off. Dani>

Before I can ask who she is talking about the ground starts to shake. We stop when I hear Dani’s voice. Thankfully they are just past the edge of land and we have several stashes of clothing around. Everyone that is here with me slips at least a pair of shorts on before we find the girls.

“What the fuck is going on?” A warrior asked.

I look around to see anything that isn’t attached to the ground levitating in the air. There are even droplets of water floating in the air. Every hair on my body is standing on end as we walk closer to the house. I can hear men yelling as thunder starts to ring out. There isn’t a cloud in the sky so where in the fuck is the thunder coming from? The closer we get to the house the more power floats in the air. It is so strong by the time we reach the women my legs almost give out on me, but for some reason I can shake it off. The others are having a harder time. I grab Dani making sure she is okay when a loud crash is heard. Two men come flying out of the house via a large window and land not six feet from where I am standing. They are alive, but unconscious. I tell a few of the guys to secure them.

“Please, we need to go back inside. She stayed there so we could get away.” Dani wails.

“Who stayed?” Ino asked.

“Kodi.” Ellie cries.

My head whips around when she says that name and I see Dad’s head do the same thing. Ino, Kekipi, Mauku, Dad, and I ran towards the house. Dad tells us to be on guard since we don’t know how many men are still in there. I swear to the goddess if they hurt my little copper flame they are going to die. Ino pulls the door open only for it to fall off the hinges. He steps back before it can land on him as we walk into the house. I can no longer hear any voices and the darkness is starting to clear. A body goes flying as we walk down the hall. It hits the wall across the way and the guy falls to the floor. He is dead, very dead. There are more bodies as we walk deeper into the house.

“Split up. She is here somewhere. Keep aware there might be some of these assholes still alive.” Dad states.

Ino and I head in one direction while Dad, Mauku and Kekipi head down the opposite hall. We came upon a couple more guys. Ino leans down feeling for a pulse and nods at me. They are still alive. Good more people to interrogate and find who is behind this. I thought we had made it clear to the human traffickers that the Hawaiian Islands are off limits and if they do come here that they won’t leave alive.

“Holy fuck, who the fuck did that?” Ino asked.

We come upon another body which has deep slash marks on his body. His head has been damn near sliced from his head. I look at him as we continue. We go door to door.

“I FOUND HER.” Ino yells.

I run in the direction he is and I can hear the others coming towards us. I find him kneeling down to make sure she is alive. I can’t help the growl that slips out as I watch him touch what is mine. He gives me a very unimpressed look as I kneel beside him. She is pale, but there isn’t a scratch on her. I can see a few red spots and I am guessing someone grabbed her or she bumped into a few things as she was protecting herself.

“Fuck.” Kekipi gasps.

The darkness has completely cleared and now I am able to see the whole picture. Dad says that they came across six other guys and they were dead. Mauku says it was like they were a couple that looked like they were cooked from the inside out and all of them have deep slash marks on them. Ino and Mauku both confirm that there is a huge amount of magic permeating the whole house. I pick her up holding her close to me as something within me feels like it snaps into place. A current of sparks jolts through my entire body as she buries her face into the crook of my neck. I smile as I kiss the top of her head.

“Get her back to the pack house. Do not take her to the hospital. I have already linked Chiron and he will be there waiting for her. I will explain once she wakes up.” Dad states.

I knew Dad knew more than he was letting on. I walked out with her in my arms to find Dani and Ellie still there waiting. The other girls have been taken to the closest human hospital as Konor lets us know that he has called the authorities letting them know what happened. We all start heading back to the pack house.

Kodi

Fuck, everything hurts. I knew doing that was going to drain the fuck out of me, but damn I didn’t think it would be this bad. I haven’t used this much power and magic in a very long time. I haven’t needed to, but it was needed with the situation we found ourselves in. I push myself up until I am sitting up in the large bed that I am in. I scoot my way across the bed until I am seated on the edge. I stand up, but have to brace myself on the edge of the bed as a wave of dizziness hits me. Once I am sure that I am fine I slowly make my way into the bathroom. My bladder is revolting. Once I am done with that I wash my hands and walk out into the main room. I find two people I haven’t seen in years sitting there.

“I told you she was in the room.” Nay says.

I fling myself into Uncle Aaron’s arms as tears start to flow down my face. They both wrap their arms around me. I sit between them on the couch. Nay asks me if I need anything. I told her that I could use something to drink. Uncle Aaron tells me that he needs to let the others know I am awake. I look around the room after he leaves and that is when it hits me. Shit, I am at their pack house which means my mate, Reign, is here. I have to leave now. I can’t let him find me. I know that someone had to carry me here and I am hoping with everything within me that it wasn’t him. If it was then our bond snapped into place and I am in deep shit. I know I can’t leave via the door so I look around the room. I notice french doors leading out onto a balcony. I open the doors and step out onto the balcony. I admit the view is stunning, but I need to leave. With the last bit of strength I have I teleport myself back to my house.

“Goddammit.” I growl.

My fucking chest hurts. It is like someone is pulling at my heart. I know exactly what this means. Reign was the one to carry me back to the pack house. Shit, this can’t happen. I crawl onto my bed as the tears stream down my face. As I fall into a deep sleep I hear a loud howl that is filled with anger, pain, and fear. I know it has to be Reign. They must have discovered that I left.

I woke up the next morning to find my phone had blown up overnight. There are twenty missed calls and over thirty missed texts. Most are from Dani, Ellie, Uncle Aaron and Nay. I lay my phone back down as I force myself up and off my bed. I turn the shower on and peel my clothes off. As I scrub the previous day’s horror off my body I feel the tug of the bond. Everything within me is screaming for me to go to him, but I can’t. Once he finds out about me then he will lock me up and force me to help him. He’ll use me for my magic and power. There is no way I am going to let that happen. Besides that is all he would want me for. Even if by some miracle he isn’t like that he won’t want me as a mate. Hell, my own family didn’t want me so why would he. I glance at my phone when I hear it vibrate.

(Kodi it’s Uncle Aaron. I know you have received all of our texts and calls. Please answer them. I know why you ran, and I understand. I promise you nothing is going to happen to you here in this pack. Please come back, we need to talk.- Uncle Aaron)

(I can’t, I can’t take the chance.-Me)

(Please trust me. I would never let anything happen to you. I swore to your parents that I would do everything within my power to keep you safe. So please come back to the pack when you are rested.-Uncle Aaron)

(Okay, I will come back tomorrow. I’m exhausted and I was going to go back to sleep. I will be there mid morning.-Me)

(Sounds good and I promise you are more than safe within this pack.-Uncle Aaron)

I set my phone back down. I hope this isn’t a mistake, but I know I can trust Uncle Aaron. I have no idea what my family has to do with this. I can barely remember them, and the little I do remember is more like a fuzzy dream sequence. I walk into the kitchen and throw a container of food into the microwave. My stomach made sure to remind me that I haven’t eaten in who knows how long. I am not sure I can be in the same room as Reign. Tomorrow is going to be difficult, but maybe if everything is laid out on the table he will realise that I am not worth it and reject me. Just thinking that makes my heart hurt, but this is about self preservation. I just hope after tomorrow that Kekipi and Mauku will still be my friends. I don’t regret anything that happened today. I had to do what was needed to make sure that Dani, Ellie and the other girls got out alive.

“Well there is nothing good on t.v.” I groan as I stand up.

I turn off the t.v. as I throw the remote on the couch. I place my dish in the dishwasher. The screen of my phone lights up as I walk into my room. I pick it up seeing that Dani has sent me a text. I let her know that I will be there tomorrow and that we can talk then. I crawl under the sheet on my bed as the tears start up again. I have no idea what is wrong with me. I don’t cry so this is not something that I am used to. I lay there in silence until my eyelids closed. The last thing I remember is a howl of sadness ringing out over the land.
