The Missing Princess

“Careful honey if you hurt yourself Reign will have my ass.” Chiron said.

“What the fuck happened? The last thing I remember is talking with Raef, Shay and Askel then nothing.” I groan.

Before I could say anything else the door to the room is more or less tore off its fucking hinges. Reign stands there looking damn near feral. I haven’t seen him like this before. He is beside me on the bed before I can even wrap my head around what the fuck is going on.

“Damn it Reign.” Chiron grumbles.

“I’ll get the fucking door fixed. It was in the way of getting to my little copper flame.” He growled.

Chiron rolls his eyes as Reign sits down grabbing my hand. I look at the both of them. I would like to know what the fuck happened. Chiron explains that I was talking with Shay, Raef and Askel when I passed out. Askel caught me and brought me here. I have been unconscious for close to half an hour now. Well damn that is not what I was expecting to be told. I have felt a little off for a while now.

“Have you had any dizzy spells?” Chiron asked.

“Not really. Two of three weeks ago I got up and was a little dizzy once or twice, but it went away quickly. I figured I got up to fast and I haven’t had any more issues since so I didn’t think there was anything to worry about. I haven’t had any headaches or anything like that. The only weird thing is that I have been craving meat, but again that has even went away mostly so I didn’t think too much on it.” I admit.

“How are you feeling now my little copper flame?” Reign asked.

“I feel fine. I have a slight head ache, but it is fading. Why?” I said.

“Kodi, we think you are pregnant. I know none of your tests have come back positive but with what you are telling me I honestly think you are. I would like to perform an ultrasound to see if we can see the pup or not. “Chiron stated.

“Okay I don’t have a problem with that. I have been thinking the same thing but none of what I have experienced has fit with being pregnant whether I am a fey or not. They also don’t fit with a wolf pregnancy. My clothes aren’t fitting tighter, and I haven’t gained any weight.” I pointed out.

“Your scent hasn’t changed, or it hasn’t changed enough for Blade or me to pick up, but we heard a faint heart beat today during the meeting that we hadn’t heard before, but we also haven’t heard it sense. It was so faint we aren’t even sure we heard what thought we heard.” Reign admitted.

“Well fuck, okay, we should do this ultrasound then. I am guessing we still aren’t sure if we will see the possible pup or not.” I commented.

Chiron nods as he moves the ultrasound machine into place. Reign moves back to where I am laying propped up. I lifted my shirt so Chiron could put the probe on it. At least he warmed the gel up. The last time it was fucking freezing and gave me goose bumps. He moved the probe around for a while. I was beginning to think that we were wasting time when we saw the little shit.

“Well, hello there little one.” Chiron commented.

“Wow he or she is bigger than I was expecting.” I said.

“Yes, by your measurements along I believe you are three months along. Now normally that would be almost full term for wolf but this little one isn’t full wolf, so I am not sure exactly how far along you are.” Chiron explained.

I could tell he was linking someone. Grandmother and Uncle Aaron walked in. I was surprised to see them. Chiron asked grandmother to come closer. They both had smiles on their faces when they caught sight of the pup. Chiron explained to them how far along he thought I was, but grandmother wasn’t in agreement.

“I think she is going to go longer than the normal four to five months that wolves carry for. I think she will fall somewhere in between wolves and fey and have this little pup at seven months or so. It is bigger than a normal fey baby would be at this stage but that is to be expected.” Grandmother told us.

“Can we tell what the sex is?” Reign asked.

“Actually yes, this one isn’t shy like a few I have had recently. This pup is right now showing us that it is a boy.” Chiron laughs.

I should have known by what a pain in the as this little one was being that it was a boy. I can’t take my eyes off the screen in front of me. Fear started to flow through me. I wasn’t ready for this. The next thing I knew I was sitting on the beach with a hand on my stomach. I never even thought about having kids. The idea of having kids was never on my radar. I also never expected to find my mate so there was that. I pulled my knees up to my chest and laid my head on them. I knew someone was walking up to me, but I chose to ignore them.

“Want to talk about it?” Rory asked.

“The fact that the two of you are here and not smothering poor Dani is shocking.” I snort.

“Oh, the sass is still there.” Vance commented.

There was a huge crash as a large black wolf came thundering through the forest. Colour me surprised that he shifted and came straight here. Rory groaned while Vance snorted when Reign shifted back. Reign grabbed a pair of shorts out of the closest tree slipping them on as he walked over to us. He sat behind me pulling me against him.

“I am terrified for the first time in my life. I was scared that night that they burnt Uncle Randy’s house to the ground, but I was more pissed. This is worse than that.” I admit.

“Dani was the same way when she found out. She was terrified because of what happened to her mother. I think all women have that initial moment of terror when they find out they are pregnant.” Vance told me.

“Kids were never even on my radar. I knew I would never have a mate with everything I had seen and been through, so I knew having kids was not even an option.” I told them.

“My little copper flame you are not alone. You have me and dad will more than gladly help out with this little guy. I promise you everything is going to be fine. I understand why you are terrified, but you have a whole pack that is behind you.” Reign says.

I know he is right, but I am still terrified. I roll my eyes when I hear a howl. Fucking Mauku is clearly looking for me. I stand up brushing the sand off my clothes. The other three stand up doing the same. We are close to the forest when three girls come stumbling out of the trees.

“Help.” the red head says.

I watch her eyes roll back in her head as she passes out. The other two are on their way down as well. I yell to the shadows to catch them since I know none of the guys will make it to them before the hit. The shadows catch them as we run towards them. Reign is already linking someone. I am sure he is calling for back up. I link Chiron to have beds ready and he tells me that he has already been informed and that the beds will be ready when we get there.

“By the time someone gets here with a car it may be to late.” Rory pointed out.

“Hold on boys. Things are about to get dark.” I drawl.

I close my eyes calling the shadows again. We need to move I tell them, and they surround us. I can hear the guys yelling but I concentrate on the task at hand. Within seconds we are standing outside the pack hospital. I smirk when all three of the guys are vomiting. Chiron is ignoring them as they place the girls on beds as they rush them inside. Here we go. Everyone is descending on the hospital. This is about to get interesting.

Reign

I knew exactly where my little copper flame went when she disappeared from the hospital room. I was surprised to find her brothers there. I could feel her fear through our bond. I was freaking out myself, but I wasn’t about to let her see or feel that I was freaked out. I did understand why she was terrified, but I had to remind her, she is not alone in this. I stood up after my little copper flame. I knew I was going to have to take a shower when I got home. I had sand in some very unpleasant places. I wasn’t sure what to do when those girls came crashing through the trees.

“Don’t ever do that again.” Vance gagged.

“At least give us a warning next time.” Rory whined.

I couldn’t say a word. I was too busy trying not to vomit. I knew when she told us to hold on that something bad was going to happen. I should have known what was going to happen when I heard the shadows start talking but since I haven’t travelled using them before I had no idea what they were up to. Yeah, this will be the first and only time I will travel that way. That was fucking terrible. By the time I get myself straightened out the girls have been taken into the hospital.

“You three look like shit.” dad deadpans.

“Yeah, well you try travelling using the shadows and see how you fair.” I gag.

He walks off laughing at the three of us. I staggered my way into the hospital. Chiron walks up to us with a weird look on his face. I tell him how we got here so fast. After laughing at us he lays each one of us down on a bed in the same room and gives us something for the nausea.

“She needed to get them here as fast as possible.” I state.

“I know, I am not mad but some fucking warning would have been nice.” Vance grumbles.

He isn’t wrong. I crack open my eyes when the door opens. Kodi is standing there with a smirk on her face. She does look worried, but I think she finds this as funny as the others do.

“Sorry guys.” She says.

“It’s fine but warn us next time little sister.” Rory groans.

“How are the girls?” I asked.

“Chiron is looking at them. So far, he has told us that they are dehydrated and in need of a good meal. The red head is Askel and Bastian’s missing granddaughter, so they are pissed at her state but glad she was found.” Kodi answers.

I had a feeling one of them was the missing granddaughter. I am glad they are fine for the most part. Kodi climbs up on the bed and lays down beside me. My stomach isn’t rolling like the damn ocean anymore, but I still feel like shit. Bastian comes to see how we are and to thank us for finding the girls.

“We didn’t really find them. They came thundering out of the forest as we were returning from the beach where this one teleported to.” I explained.

“Either way thank you. Chiron says they are going to be fine. They need rest, fluids and some food. They all have a few bruises and some scratches from running through the forest.” Bastian said.

He says that he will let the others know that we are better as he walks out of the room. I glance over when I hear someone snoring. I chuckle when I see that both Rory and Vance are dead asleep. It must have been the anti-nausea medication that Chiron gave us. Kodi lets out a giggle at her brothers as she sits there.

“Are you calmer now?” I asked.

“Yes and no, but I will be fine when it finally sinks in. I also feel like I am to damn young to be having a kid.” She admits.

“Do you want this pup?” I asked.

“Yes, of course I do but I wasn’t expecting to have one this soon and like I said before I never expected to have a mate and with fey you can only have kids by them, so kids were off the plate.” She replied.

Thank God. I was afraid she may not want our pup. She says that nothing could make her give up our pup. Chiron walked in to check on us. He laughed when he saw dip shit and dumb ass passed out. He told me that I can leave whenever I want as can the other two. I sure as fuck ain’t carrying them so I guess they are sleeping here.
