The Missing Princess

Reign

Once everyone was up, I had them meet in the conference room. We had all been in my office yesterday, but it felt like we were stuffed in there like fucking sardines. I had the kitchen prepare a buffet style breakfast for us. I knew we were going to be in there for a while and that we would need food. My pregnant sister would definitely want food as would Kodi. I asked Myra to be present. We still hadn’t figured out who the mole in the pack was, which was another thing that was irritating the shit out of me. I have been suspicious of one person for a while now, but I have no proof. I need proof before I an act. I also know that when I can prove it that it is going to hurt two very good friends. I smiled as I walked with Kodi following behind me. She was still half asleep as she dropped down into one of the chairs. I did notice that there was no coffee which was not going to go over well.

“I come baring coffee.” Noa announced.

“Oh thank fucking God!” Kodi slurs.

Noa smiles at her as he hands me Kodi’s drink of choice. I set it down in front of her. She let out a happy sounds as she took a big gulp. Noa told her to stand up which she did. He took her seat which made me laugh. He knows she will end up in my lap. I waited till they had set the last plate loaded with food down before I loaded a plate for Kodi and I to share. She doesn’t eat as much as I do, but if my suspicions are right I want to make sure she is eating enough. I will be talking with Elymyna later today. Everyone started to filter in. Everyone was thrilled with the breakfast spread. I had to laugh when Rory and Vance tried to load a plate for my sister. Dani looked murderous as they tried to chose what she was going to eat. Their grandfather told them to let her load her own plate and dad held her back from killing both of them. Askel was laughing at the entire situation.

“Do you know what you are having yet?’ I asked.

“Yes, we found out the day before we came here. There will be a new princess born in a few months.” Dani squealed.

“Oh my god I am going to have a niece.” Kodi screamed.

I flinched as did everyone else when they were both squealing. Dad told them to stop as Blade started whining in my head about his ears hurting. I was happy for my sister but we don’t need all the screaming. I pinched Kodi’s thigh causing her to look at me.

“While I am happy for you three we have other things to discuss. Now please stop the screaming before everyone in here is deaf.” I stated.

“Alpha Reign is right. We need to figure out what to do about this trafficking shit.” Bastian pointed out.

“Please we are all friends here. Call me Reign.” I said.

Dani started to eat which made Rory and Vance happy. I am not sure how they are going to deal with a daughter. They are going to lose their shit. That little girl is going to have guards assigned to her from day one. Dani might end up killing them. Kodi started shoving food into her mouth which made me feel better.

-Did you hear that?- Blade

-No, what did you hear?- Me

-Listen focus on our mate.- Blade

-Shit, is that what I think it is?- Me

-Yes, that is our pups heart beat. I just barely heard it and now I don’t hear it anymore.- Blade

-I am talking to Elymyna later and I will let her know what we heard. For now stay quiet.- Me

-Kodi needs to realise she is pregnant on her own. There is a reason the pup is keeping itself hidden. - Me

-Okay, and hopefully she figures it out soon.- Blade

I quickly pushed this to the back of my mind before someone realised I was distracted. Kodi stopped eating and started to explain what the two of us had talked about last night. She brought up using the shadows.

“I think using the shadows would be very beneficial. They can go places that we can’t. You are probably right about them staying with someone on another island and hiding the girls on a different island.” Zhamaxin told her.

“I did notice Uahi was overly active last night. The patrol that was our last night told me that they noticed him going and coming from somewhere by the southwest corner of our land. They said he was very agitated.” Raef stated.

“That’s weird.” Kodi said.

I did notice that he was back and forth from our balcony last night but I didn’t think much of it. I can also tell that Raef is a little on edge. Myra looks like something is wrong as well. I am not sure what is going on with that but we will figure that out later. Everyone does agree that finding Askel and Bastian’s granddaughter is the priority. Kodi tells them that she will talk with the shadows later to see what they can find. I do notice Bastain watching Kodi carefully. I wonder if he has figured it out. Kodi tells them about the building that she remembers not far from where they held the three of them when they were kidnapped.

“Why did they take the three of you? I know for a fact they don’t kidnap supernaturals unless someone requests them.” Askel said.

“The guys that kidnapped us were human so they had no idea we were supernatural. They thought I was human.” Kodi told them.

That seems to make the most sense. Those assholes did admit that they followed Dani and Ellie from California. I tell them that they never got the chance to kidnap them there but the airport gave them an opportunity they couldn’t resist. They kidnapped Kodi because she was a red head and something different. They thought she was pretty and would fetch a lot of money. That pissed me off but they aren’t wrong. My little cooper flame is gorgeous. We continue to discuss other topics as we eat breakfast. Bastian and Noa discuss a few things about their families as the meeting comes to an end.

Elymyna

Reign had asked me last night if we could talk after the meeting this morning. I had a strong feeling that I knew what he wanted to talk about. Kodi hadn’t said anything else to me about her concerns about being pregnant, but I could see the small signs that she probably was. They were very subtle but they were there. I didn’t think that Reign had noticed her scent change nor had Aaron and I knew that Aaron wouldn’t hesitate to say something if he had picked up a change in her scent. I think even Bastian noticed the slight changes in her. Her appetite had increased just a little. I could sense a little different magic coming from her as well. I waited till everyone else had left before I stood up and walked over to Reign. Bastian and Zhamaxin stayed behind as well.

“It’s fine Reign, I have figured it out.” Bastian said.

“What the hell are we talking about now?” Zhamaxin asked.

I pat his face. I love this man but he can be so damn clueless. Bastian laughs at the two of us while the confused look on my husbands face grows. Reign is laughing at too which is starting to make Zhamaxin angry.

“Hush and everything will be explained.” I told him.

“Kodi is pregnant. Blade and I heard the a very soft heart beat at the very beginning of our meeting but not since. That is the first time we have heard it. We still have not picked up a change in her scent and she still seems to not realise it herself.” Reign explained.

“She needs to figure it out on her own.” I told him.

“I know and I wasn’t planning on telling her. You three can’t say shit either.” Reign rumbles.

“Don’t worry we won’t.” I replied.

I gave Zhamaxin a stern look and he promised that he will keep his damn mouth shut. Bastian says that he won’t say anything either.

“I would like to know why the pup continues to hide.” Reign says.

“That is the one thing that I can’t tell you. The pup might be able to sense that it’s mother is worried about something, and it knows that there is danger and for both of their sakes it is keeping itself hidden.” I explained.

“What is the chance that this child is a girl and that she is as powerful as her mother?” Bastian asked.

“They have a little more of a chance of it being a girl since Kodi has fey blood but the power part we won’t know until the pup is born. My gut feeling is that this pup isn’t as powerful. When Estella was pregnant, we could feel an immense surge in her power, but with Kodi I can’t feel that. I would bet this pup is a boy. I would suggest having an ultrasound to see if you can see the pup.” I told them.

“She actually suggested that. Chiron wanted her to have another test to see but she says that an ultrasound might be the easier way. There hasn’t been any change in blood for at least a month.” Reign stated.

He told us that he was going to talk to Kodi and see if she would have the ultrasound today. I am guessing he already linked Chiron. I told him that would be the best. As he stood up to leave the door to the room opened and Dani came running in. She was hysterical.

“What the hell? I have been trying to link you for close to a half hour now.” Dani wailed.

“Calm down baby, this isn’t good for the baby.” Vance told her.

She was sobbing. I hurried to her to find out what was wrong with my granddaughter. Bastian asked what the hell was going on. Rory came running into the room, I am guessing, looking for Dani. He told us that they were over at the pack hospital to have an ultrasound.

“Aaron wanted one and Dani wanted him to see the baby. We were more than happy, and Chiron was more than happy to give into her demand.” Rory explained.

“While we were there Askel came in carrying Kodi. He said that they were outside talking with Shay and Raef when she said that she felt light headed then dropped on them. Everyone has been trying to link you for a while, but no one has been able to to get through. Aaron was going to come find you, but Dani bolted before we could stop her.” Rory added.

We hurried to the hospital. Reign was about to lose his shit. I had a feeling the little one was making his or herself know. I was still not sure if we would actually get to see the little pup. The hospital was in chaos when we walked in. Dani threw herself into Aaron’s arms, still a sobbing mess. He did ask where we were, and I explained Reign wanted to talk to me. He wasn’t mad but I knew he was upset that he wasn’t included.

“Where is she?” Reign growled.

“She is in the Luna suite. Chiron is with her, and they are waiting for you.” Ino told him.

Reign hurried to the Luna suite. Vance took Dani from Aaron and sat down with her in his lap. That was the best place for her. She does need to calm down.

“Is Kodi pregnant?” Aaron asked.

“We are suspecting she is but we aren’t sure. Reign hasn’t noticed a change in her scent, but he and Blade did catch a faint heart beat during the meeting today. They hadn’t heard before or sense. That is what we were discussing. He didn’t want anyone to know until we had confirmation.” I told him.

I told him that I had suggested an ultrasound and that is what Reign was going to suggest Kodi when this happened. He told me that Chiron rolled the ultrasound into the room as they tried to get in touch with Reign. Looks like we might find out if I am going to have another great grandchild soon.

“You do realise that if she is pregnant that this is going to make her infinitely more dangerous.” Zhamaxin pointed out.

“I know and I hope for Zenos’s sake that he doesn’t try anything.” I replied.

“We also need to make damn sure that he doesn’t learn of this. He would stop at nothing to get his hands on this child.” Aaron stated.

“Until we know for sure if she is carrying a pup this stays between us.” I hissed.

“Hell, even after we know for sure. This needs to be kept quiet until it becomes obvious that she is carrying a pup. Thankfully having fey blood helps us. Fey tends not to show right away if at all. Especially dark fey.” Bastian pointed out.

He is right. Until her pregnancy is confirmed we wait. It is highly possible that Kodi won’t show that much or at all. I didn’t show with either of mine till the last month or two. Even then I barely had a baby bump. Dani showing this early is odd but since the baby is half wolf it is also normal. Right now, we will wait and see.
