The Missing Princess

Chapter 46 - Pack Mole Revealed

Reign

Myra and Raef are sitting in my office. They asked to meet with me. I can tell that something is wrong, and I don’t like it. Myra has never asked me to talk to me before. They both look nervous as hell. We are waiting for dad and Kodi since I think this is something they need to hear. I shake my head when I hear dad’s rowdy laughter. I am sure my little copper flame said something to make him laugh. Dad opens the door allowing my little copper flame to walk in with him following. Kodi smiles at me as she walks over and takes a seat in my lap. Dad sits down in the chair on the side of my desk. I nod at Myra. I can tell she is trying to figure out how to word what she wants to tell us.

“I have been suspicious that someone I knew was the mole for a while. I didn’t want to say anything until I had proof. I promise I wasn’t keeping anything from you, but I wanted solid evidence before I came to you. I was also trying not to hurt Myra.” Raef said.

“That is fair, and I do understand about not wanting to hurt Myra and I appreciate that you wanted proof before you came to me.” I replied.

“Thank you alpha. I also wanted to talk to Myra and my uncle about what this is going to do to our family.” Raef added.

“Raef, I need to you to stop. I have been suspicious of Amir for a while now. I didn’t know that you had also had your own suspicions.” Myra said.

Amir, I had somewhat forgotten about him. Myra had taken in him years ago when his parents died, but that is all I know. I had talked to him a few times usually when Raef was around, but I don’t really know him. I hadn’t seen him in a while.

“Please tell me what you know. I admit I don’t Amir that well at all. The few times I have talked with him Raef was usually there.” I pointed out.

“Amir is my late brothers son. As you know I took him in when his parents died. Amir still has a place here, but he also has a place in town. He asked me to box a few of his things up a week or so ago so I did. I asked Raef to help.” Myra explained.

“I had been suspicious of Amir for a while now. He would disappear for days on end and when I would check on him at his place in town he was rarely home, and his neighbours would tell me that they rarely see him come and go. One neighbour told me about a few men that she had seen a few times visiting him. At first that didn’t raise any red flags. I mean I am sure he has friends I don’t know. The woman started describing one of the guys which made me pull out my phone to show her a picture.” Raef admits.

“Let me guess. The guy was Eros.” Kodi comments.

“No, it was actually Zenos. It appears that he was using a portal to travel between wherever in Russia he is hiding to Amir’s place. The woman did say that she has seen Eros and Jeremy there a few times as well.” Raef added.

“How is that possible? Kodi should have felt his magic if he was here.” Dad pointed out.

“We didn’t find anything in his room when we packed it up. We were going to deliver it to him two days ago. I tried several times to call him, but he never picked up. Raef and I went over there with the few boxes that we had packed. I did have a key to his place in town. When we entered the place was cleaned out. The only thing there was the furniture. All his personal belongings and clothes were gone. We did find this.” Myra told us.

She sets down a cell phone sized black box. It is very inconspicuous and doesn’t seem to have any buttons. I look at Kodi when she grabs her head and starts to cry. She folds herself into me as her whole body starts to shake. I wrap her in my arms trying to comfort her, but nothing seems to be helping. Myra tries to get rid of the box, but it shocks her when she touches it. I look at dad who is clearly linking someone. Ino and Zhamaxin come running in. Zhamaxin’s eyes start to glow, and I can tell that he is feeling the same thing Kodi is but for some reason he can somewhat resist it better. He starts chanting something in his weird fey language that I can’t understand, and the box starts vibrating before cracking in half. Kodi stops shaking in my lap and starts to calm down.

“What the fuck happened?” I growled.

“Where did that box come from?” Zhamaxin asked.

Myra starts explaining to Ino and Zhamaxin what she and Raef told us a few minutes ago. Kodi has calmed down but is still holding her head. Zhamaxin hands her a piece of that hard candy that gets rid of headaches. They really do work. We make sure to keep a supply here for whenever we need them.

“My little copper flame are you feeling better?” I asked.

“Yeah, but my head still hurts a little.” She whispers.

“That is a devise to conceal magic. It keeps one of equal or greater magical power from sensing another of equal or greater magical power. That is how Zenos was able to come and go at Amir’s place without Kodi feeling him.” Zhamaxin explained.

Kodi still had her head on my shoulder, but she wasn’t shaking anymore. Whatever that thing was, I had better not hurt my pup. I asked but Zhamaxin assured me that both Kodi and the pup would be fine. He told us that what he said broke the link and the damn box no longer works. Thank God. I handed Kodi her bottle of water. She did flinch when she stretched out her hand to take it. Zhamaxin explained that it can cause muscle cramps and that he has something that will help with the after effects of what happened without causing any problems to the pup, but that it will probably make Kodi sleep. She said that she wants to hear what we are going to do about Amir before taking it.

“We need to find him.” I stated.

“We have been trying to contact him, but his number no longer works. There are no traces of him leaving the island, so I am guessing Eros helped him leave.” Raef told us.

“Eros probably helped him via a portal.” Kodi comments.

Kodi

That was the worst feeling ever and I have had a few bouts of morning sickness. My head is much better but there is still a dull thud as I sit here. I don’t know Amir at all, and I feel like a terrible Luna. I had seen him around and I had tried to talk to him, but he always disappeared before I could get to him. I honestly didn’t see him around the pack that much, which after finding all this out isn’t surprising. I do remember seeing him around town before I found Reign.

“What did his parents do? If he knew Eros and Jeremy, then he had to of known Zenos. I doubt Zenos would have come here before, and they would have met since Amir isn’t much older than me.” I pointed out.

“He grew up with Eros and Jeremy. My brother, his father, ran his own business. Well, that is what he told the family. When we went through the apartment, I found this. My brother worked for Zenos. I hate to say it, but he was the main supplier of supernatural women. I have no idea when or how they would have met. I also have no idea why my brother would do that. When we were young, he was adamant that anyone who would do that to a woman is a piece of shit. In fact, when we were younger, he helped our coven take down a ring. None of this makes sense.” Myra cried.

I could tell she was very upset about all of this. I went over and sat down beside her. I wrapped my arms around her trying to comfort her. I could tell this upset Raef as well. I could feel the anger wafting off of him, but I think he was more pissed that this was upsetting his mother than anything else. I held her as she cried. I heard Reign growl as he, Ino, Uncle Aaron and grandfather looked through all the shit that Myra had found in Amir’s apartment.

“I would like to see that apartment.” Reign says.

“Of course, alpha. We still have the keys to it and Amir still owns it. I did tell the neighbour to let me know if she sees anyone. So far, she hasn’t called. “Raef told us.

“I would like to come. I want to make sure they didn’t place any other magical devices, spells or incantations within the apartment. Kodi, I don’t think you should come until I have cleared the building. It is possible that something was placed on the building or the apartment.” grandfather says.

“That is fine. If it's something like this then I want no part of it. I think it pissed off my little man as well. My stomach is doing all sorts of flips. No, I don’t feel him moving around. Which I would like to know why.” I comment.

“He will let you feel him move when he thinks it is safe. Give him some time. He just revealed himself. You two don’t say a word about this either. I don’t want anyone knowing until this shit is over.” Reign states.

“Of course, alpha. I am happy for the two of you.” Myra told us.

“Would any of your family know the reason that Amir’s father got involved in the ring? Someone has to know something.” I pointed out.

“I can call my parents and see if they have any idea. I think they were always suspicious when it came to his business. No one ever asked exactly what kind of business he ran, and we should have. I have no idea if my late sister-in-law knew what he was doing.” Myra admits.

“Please call them and see if they can tell us anything. Maybe someone in the coven knows something. Your brother had to have friends that he was close with that might know if something happened to make him change.” I remarked.

“I am sorry for this. I understand if you don’t want us here any longer or want me guarding the Luna.” Raef says.

“Don’t be a fucking moron. You had no idea that Amir would pull shit like this. We love your family. You are more than a guard. You are my friend and what your piece of shit, sorry to say it that way, cousin has done isn’t going to change that.” I grumble.

Uncle Aaron laughs at me which earns him a glare. Reign slaps my thigh trying to get me to calm down. I slapped his thigh in return causing Uncle Aaron to laugh even more. Raef even laughs at the two of us.

“I know my brother was close to one of my cousins. I will call him and see if he knows anything. He might not know what he exactly did but he might be able to tell when and how my brother met Zenos. As far as I knew my brother wasn’t one to travel. That means he either lied to the family or he travelled more than any of us were aware of.” Myra added.

Reign tells her to let us know when they find something out. They made plans to head to Amir’s apartment tomorrow. I want to go but grandfather is right. I bet they have someone watching the apartment or something. Amir had to have been alerted that we were getting close to figuring out that he was the mole.

“He must have realised that we were onto him, or he remembered that he had something in the shit that you two packed up and ran before we could find it. You need to look through the boxes that Myra and Raef packed up and took over there.” I told them.

“You are right. I have already sent a couple of my guys over there to make sure that they are there and that there are no spells or incantations being used.” grandfather replied.

Reign thanks him for thinking like that. I stand up when my stomach decides that I need to eat. I look at the time and damn we have been in here for three hours no wonder I am starving. Reign picks me up calling an end to the meeting. I growl at him telling him that I can fucking walk causing Raef to laugh at us. I tell him to shut up but he just laughs harder. Stupid men. We all head down to grab some food for a late lunch.
